🔥 I’ve read several accounts of Clark Gable’s life. It’s been written that he was a clean freak & had a special portable shower, he could utilize wherever he was, sometimes showering up to four times a day! We’ve all heard the rumors of his bad breath. I find this a bit difficult to believe that someone who was so clean on his person & who had numerous affairs, would neglect his oral hygiene to the point of odiferous breath. Considering the time in which he lived, it would make more sense to consider the possibility that perhaps the denture adhesive he used was foul smelling, not his actual breath.
I was thinking the same as you. It seems incongruous that someone so intent to stay clean would neglect their oral hygiene. I was wondering if he maybe had an oral infection or something.
@@BluePea88 An oral infection is definitely a possibility, but wouldn't it have to be ongoing for him to be labeled as having bad breath? If it was ongoing, eventually, wouldn't it have caused other health issues? He was the King of Hollywood, so the rumor could have been started by someone who envied him & wanted to be cruel without damaging his career. Truely, I don't understand it. We're told that he & Joan Crawford had an affair for years & she too, was supposed to be a fanatic about cleanliness. If his breath was bad, after taking one herself, so as not to offend him, wouldn't she have offered him a breath mint? It just doesn't make sense to me.
@@LucretziaB I think the only one, who ever metioned it, was Vivien Leigh. And she may have had reasons of her own. And also, it can happen to everyone on occation. Dosen't mean bad hygiene. It could perhaps be just something he ate, or perhaps if he was fasting. It dosen't mean he permanently suffered from it. And (like you) I very much doubt that he did, Especially since non of all his women seemed be bothered. Pity, I think that this rumour was ever started, especially if it was just on one occation.
He raped Loretta Young and denied that the resulting child (who looks exactly like him) . He tormented the child all her life by refusing to acknowledge her or his crime. His love failed to conceive and had no children before dying Judgement
🔥 📛 I agree George Clooney would be a perfect fit to play him. What about doing Yul Brenner, Errol Flynn. Theda Baret, Peter O'Toole,Spencer Tracy, or Charlie Chaplin?
I didn't know that he relationships with men that's a surprise and there's documentary about him in the 90's with his daughter on there she looks just like him.
People are complicated, and can do wonderful things , but also do horrible things. This is the first video of yours I’ve seen, and the first video I’ve seen about Clark Gable I’ve ever seen. This isn’t the usual content I watch, but for some reason this video was in my feed and caught my eye. I really like your presentation style, very strait forward and informative with some good commentary. I’ll definitely check out more, especially the videos you mentioned you’ve done around individuals mentioned here ❤. Personally, I’m always going to believe a woman when she says she was assaulted. Like you point out in your video, society is always willing to excuse the rich and powerful and it sounds as if there was a pattern of disrespect and disregard for the women in his life already. Thanks for all your hard work!
Clark Gable was that type that hated the world he lived in. So he let those who didn't look deeper, those who stayed on the surface he let them FEEL IT. When wealthy people only saw his good looks and not his depth he handled them like they handled him. Like a tool. They used him for his looks n bragging rights. He used them for money and connections. The parts of the world he did hold dear, he did respect he also let them FEEL IT hence fighting for fairness and rights. He loved Hattie McDaniels. He loved fairness, respect, and dignity.
After he appeared without an undershirt in "It Happened One Night", Amercian men stpped wearing undershirts. It bad always been a thing, and that dissapeered after the movie was released. So he had a big impact right away!
Clark Gable is still the king. And I would say that he is the greatest American actor. He has the body of work, he was in one of the greatest American films, he could do dramatic and he could do comedy. And he was a handsome leading man. The AFI has Humphrey Bogart as the greatest American actor but he doesn’t have the range that Clark Gable has. It’s not fair to give Bogart the title just because he was in Maltese falcon and Casablanca. Nothing compares to Clark Gable having to carry the weight of a Rhett Butler in “gone with the wind.” And doing a beautiful light comedy turn in “it happened one night.” -. You know the AFI has it wrong when they give Spencer Tracy the number 2 slot. (Note: I don’t understand the appeal of Spencer Tracy.)
Not only his biopic should be headlined by George Clooney, but the biopic should also be titled as "King of Hollywood: The tale of an ultimate gold digger"😊.
Stunning looking man! I always heard he was a stand up, great guy! So I never knew about his Jekyl & Hyde personalities. I guess it depended who you were to him as to how you were treated & ultimately thought of him. Super interesting guy. Great video 🔥
Accused is still presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Loretta Young had an obvious reason for saying it was not consensually. She definitely proved she was a liar and she waited til he was dead to make the accusation. I like that Crawford and he met for decades , thru their own marriages and they knew enough that they never made demands on one another
Loretta Young wasn't lying. Her daughter even looks like Clark Gable, and when they met, he imediatly recognized her as his daughter. But her daughter st that Point didn't want anything to do with him. And yes she waited after is death ți coem to light about the râpe because she was still afraid of him. She was a used by this big figure în Hollywood and she knew they woudl silence her or she would be suffering, not him. Those where other times, things were different and she took alot of courage and alot of time to be able to tell the truth
The bad breath thing is a myth. Debunked. Vivien smoked even more than him, and no other co-star complained about this or anything else when it came to the King. And if you actually did research on the man, you'd know he was more than decent. A few flaws like everyone, but overall an exceptionally good person.
Wonderful actor. Great star. Gable was old school because he never added anything in his performances that wasn't necessary. Young actors could learn lots from watching his performances.
He sounds like a card-carrying sociopath - "nice" on the outside when people are watching and a totally amoral user of people, as if they were objects, on the inside.
We tend to _idolize_ people who are _famous_ and put them up on a pedestal, wanting to believe that theyre perfect and can do no wrong ---- and when the veil of their perfect veneer exterior is lifted, and we come to know the details of their personal lives, we are disappointed, because we come to realise that they are very _imperfect and flawed_ , just like us. Gable was really never my favorite "silver screen actor", and I actually never found him to be as "handsome" as most women did or still do, and the same applies for Clooney ---- but then again, "beauty" is _subjective_ as they say. I cant believe he was only 59 when he died, because he looked way past 70. I guess chain smoking + boozing ultimately take their toll. As far as his _personal character_ goes, I believe he was just like everyone else in the Hollywood industry ---- and some were & still are, far worse than he was. We can _dislike_ the "person" but love the "actor" ---- for example: I hate *Robert DeNiro* as a _person_ but LOVE him as an actor, and this applies to several others as well. In the end ---- nobody's _perfect._ ✌ RIP Mr. Gable 🌹
@@fgghhhjjkhgd3665 Why? Because my perception of _Beauty_ does not align w/ yours? So, lets say you like *coffee* but it causes me to become sick --- youre saying I SHOULD drink it anyway because YOU like it? Feel free to substitute *coffee* w/ anything else under the sun --- but please, dont impose your opinions, ideologies, beliefs, likes & dislikes, upon others --- because that makes you not only a *DICTATOR,* but a TYRANT as well. How would you like it if someone told you to like something you consider repulsive, or to eat something which causes you an allergic reaction & even DEATH? Hmmm....not likely I believe. Get a clue, get a life, and let others live as they choose.

🔥In conclusion, once again, people are complex and not one dimensional. But holy mole I had no idea this was his story, how did I not know this about one of the most famous actors ever? He was VERY handsome indeed, and as beautiful were Carol Lombard and Loretta Young. All of them really, gorgeous.
Im so glad your Channel came up in queue!
I dated a man who was fine and developed bad breath 😷 I tried to help him with his oral & gut health but thank goodness it’s NO longer my concern.
Great content 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I thought he was amazing actor and very handsome too. I didn't know about a lot of his life. But I learned a lot from your video and Thank you for sharing 👍👍👍👍
They said that about Jean Harlow... people said her breath smelled lightly of urine😢. She died in her 20s, kidney disease.💔
@@allisonoconnor8055 Yes, that exactly proves my point, she had a physical disease, which caused her bad breath.
Carol Lombard spoke her mind tho!
When I was younger I loved watching movies with Clark Gable. That line in GWTW has always been my favorite line !!!
I Have Always Loved This Man 🤷🏽♀️
He looks ok. Robert Taylor was better looking.
Finally someone who has good taste!!!
He raped Loretta Young and denied that the resulting child (who looks exactly like him) . He tormented the child all her life by refusing to acknowledge her or his crime.
His love failed to conceive and had no children before dying

🔥 📛 I agree George Clooney would be a perfect fit to play him. What about doing Yul Brenner, Errol Flynn. Theda Baret, Peter O'Toole,Spencer Tracy, or Charlie Chaplin?
She could have lied on him to avoid scandal...we will never know...only the two of them do
You are killing it! You’ve done fascinating videos on everybody!
Girl! All those affairs and he had bad breath?? Look that is just a hard NO for me. I guess his charm bypassed the obvious lol (just my 2 cents lol)
I grew up 20 miles from his birth town !
I LOVE your channel Karine and often watch in the evening to relax. Thank you for your great content & funny "asides" 🤗
Thank You For This Great Biography. Loved Clark Gable's Talent
After he appeared without an undershirt in "It Happened One Night", Amercian men stpped wearing undershirts. It bad always been a thing, and that dissapeered after the movie was released. So he had a big impact right away!
Excellent video Karine!! I love your channel! Thanks for sharing!
🙏🙏🙏 Could you please cover French actor ALAIN DELON? He’s like the James Dean of France and arguably the most famous film actor in the world.
Legendary King 👑👑 The first king of swag👑👑👑👑Rest in paradise King Clark ❤❤❤❤
Not only his biopic should be headlined by George Clooney, but the biopic should also be titled as "King of Hollywood: The tale of an ultimate gold digger"😊.
Stunning looking man! I always heard he was a stand up, great guy! So I never knew about his Jekyl & Hyde personalities. I guess it depended who you were to him as to how you were treated & ultimately thought of him. Super interesting guy. Great video 🔥
Did he have black ancestry?
What he did behind closed doors doesn't matter to me. He will alway's be one of my favorites.
So now we are to blindly support horrible people just because their attractive?
Wonderful actor. Great star. Gable was old school because he never added anything in his performances that wasn't necessary. Young actors could learn lots from watching his performances.
Do one about Clara Bow and Thelma Todd please do it
Niceness means absolutely nothing that’s how. It’s a facade if your private actions don’t match your public actions or proclamations
In the end ---- nobody's _perfect._ ✌
RIP Mr. Gable 🌹
If you don’t see that he is extrmely handsome get your eyes checked immediately
You just mad because they like black people. Out of everyone else, you chose Robert Deniro. It is obvious these two had relations with black people.🤣
@@fgghhhjjkhgd3665 Why?
