In those days the age difference was not a big deal due to culture and tradition. According to scholars, in biblical days the average bride was about 13, and the groom was about 30. It was believed back then when a young lady started her period she was ready to wed and have babies. Now that there are laws in place and culture changed we see things quite differently. My very own grandmother got married at 16. To them this concept was customary, some even deemed as holy, not alarming like it is today.
Absolutely. Romeo and Juliet were 14. People had children at that age since they usually died by age 35. 35 was considered very old and the natural human lifespan. Modern medicine has greatly extended lifespans.

I think the big age gap was so widely accepted back then and even now in certain countries because girls didn’t have the ability to build a life for themselves the way they do now. Plus, let’s be honest daughters are often used to a family’s advantage in many different ways, especially monetary.
Wow Ms. Karine, I really appreciate how much effort you put into your videos. They are all so interesting. Thank you for all of your hard work and research.
This is a well done, and informative video, on the life and career of the lovely Debra Paget. Many colorful black and white photos of the very photogenic Ms. Paget. It was refreshing to hear that Debra Paget never compromised her personal integrity, nor her moral principles, during her illustrious movie career. A True Hollywood Legend.
Great presentation on Debra Paget. I've seen some of the movies you mentioned but had no idea she was that young. I agree many of the actors during that time had very little say so on the roles they portrayed. Those studios basically owned them. It's really not that much different today, the optics are different but underneath the surface they still hold a great deal of power over the actors in the industry. Another suggestion, I think Paul Newman and his wife Joanne Woodward would be interesting. They were an extremely attractive couple. They did a few films together plus their story might be an interesting project. For Debra Paget 💐💐💐💐💐
I remember her when I was a young kid and as I grew up I wondered where she went. Based on her self direction especially in the movie industry she was a very intelligent young lady. She survived and dodged some horrible paths and saved her life by not submitting to others destructive desires so evident in others lives. All the best to Debra and her family.
I love your content! Thanks for making this channel! Have you done a video on Jean Arthur? She was a shy rebel before her time. She resisted the Hollywood contract constantly. She would not do just any movie if she didn't like the script. She was mysterious yet played in some amazing comedies.

Thanks again for another superb video. I had never heard of her before.
One of my favorite actresses! Definitely the Ten Commandment’s! 💐💐💐💐💐
My mother was born in 1933 and STILL LOOKS AMAZING AT 90!!! She looks like she’s 50 and stunning!!!
My grandma was born in 1933 and whenever I'd show her younger pictures to my friends, everyone said she could have been a movie star. My grandma was modest and would just laugh it off.
So glad i found your channel !
You've changed the game ❤❤❤
Debra's beauty is captivating she was stunningly beautiful, you can see the resemblance between Debra and Priscilla even as she aged, although Debra was more beautiful and sizzled sex appeal, she was a very talented actress, l have watched some of the movies she stared in with older men l love westerns but didn't realize how young she was in the film broken arrow wow 15 almost 16 years old l always though they made her look younger for the movie as it was before my time but l have watched it on TV a few times, l loved her in Love me Tender but in that movie she married Vince played by (Elvis) but fell in love with his brother, l am happy she walked away from Hollywood and found her faith 🙏🌷🌹🌷
Only recently found your channel binge watching. I thoroughly enjoyed this particular trubute 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Love binge watching your past episodes. So interesting, historical, and entertaining!

Once again you rock another a very interesting bio!!!
Thank you so much for watching ❤❤

She was a baby doll 😍🥰💐
I think the big age gap was so widely accepted back then and even now in certain countries because girls didn’t have the ability to build a life for themselves the way they do now. Plus, let’s be honest daughters are often used to a family’s advantage in many different ways, especially monetary.
Wow Ms. Karine, I really appreciate how much effort you put into your videos. They are all so interesting. Thank you for all of your hard work and research.
🌺🌺🌹🌹 I love her! My favorite nxt to Dorothy Dandridge. Very talented and stunning
Fascinating story and Thank You. I have seen her but didn’t know who she was.
Great narration. Beautiful actress.
Yeah and don't leave out the part about Nancy Bacon. They weren't the "perfect couple" everyone thought.
Yay I was always curious about her life
Thank you ❤
oh my , she was stunningly beautiful.
I loved her in the Ten Commandments 🌻
She's stunning. Gorgeous! 😍 😍
I remember seeing a few of her old films. Interesting. Good video.

Karine, I really love your videos! Would you consider doing one on Rudolph Valentino? I know it would be great.
She's beautiful and smart. I love her values.
Wow she was indeed beautiful and a fantastic dancer too!
You're still thought of and loved, Ms Debra Paget! My family has watched "The Ten Commandments" every year since perhaps 1978
I love your content! Thanks for making this channel! Have you done a video on Jean Arthur? She was a shy rebel before her time. She resisted the Hollywood contract constantly. She would not do just any movie if she didn't like the script. She was mysterious yet played in some amazing comedies.
Omg She’s so beautiful ❤ , Karine your voice is so beautiful & smooth…Is there anyway that you could do a video on this lady named Danielle Darrieux not sure if you had done her yet or anything
Thank you love ❤ and she is on my list. I’m shocked cause you’re the first to request her, great taste!
@@KarineAlourde Really well thank you. I love the old Hollywood starlets from the 1940s and so forth…Always was curious to know what happened to a lot of them and why things were the way it was in those days. I truly admire what you’re doing tho. Very nice.
