(They don't go away permanently) Also, I recommend the book Meditation for Dummies by Stephan Bodian which teaches mantra meditation and feeling feelings like pride, fear, anger, shame, and jealousy until they go away. Mantra meditation helped me become more aware of my illogical thoughts (used positive mantra that contradicted negative and illogical thoughts) and become a more logical and happier person.
