- This week we drink High West's signature allocation! How does it compare to recent years? We've learned they are bottling more and more of this juice while increasing prices too. This puts us in an interesting dilemma...

Do you think Act 11 is better than previous years?
I'm not sure! I just got my two bottled of Act 11... and it's dry January for me. I'll let you know in February haha.
Got a chance to try Prisoner’s Share this year, enjoyed that. Was very disappointed by last year’s MWND.
My dad is at the High West distillery right now and this video helped me to decide to pull the trigger on having him pick up a MWND bottle for me. The pepper and licorice notes with the red wine finish sound awesome.
Thanks as always gents.
We think that Prisoner is something special. Glad you got to try it!
The 2023 MWND is definitely better that’s 2022. We were happy with it. We saw quite a few bottles out in the wild this year. A noticeable change in production volume.
Hope you enjoy your bottle! 🥃
I really like this year's release. Love a quality high Rye whiskey, and the port finish is always very complimentary. And in regards to price, 2018 and 2023, everything is more expensive
It’s a good one! True - everything is more expensive.
Bought a case for $800 I’m happy with it
That’s a healthy stash! 🥃
$179 retail at Binny’s in Illinois. That’s 👎👎👎. Thanks guys
Yep, that’s a pass. Not worth more than retail in our opinion!
I think 11 is the best one in awhile. I got one and happy I have it but don't think i'd need a second. That said, if Sagamore increases the distribution of their port finished, it might be game over for MWND. Just as good and nearly half the price.
Sagamore could definitely become the favorite if they can improve their distribution. At half the price, it is a no brainer!
That is awesome to hear. I am so excited to try it. I haven't tried Sagamore yet but I have heard nothing but good things.
I just picked one up at a grocery store for $139! Glad I did.
I picked up Act 11 Scene 12 near Racine, Wisconsin. This is my first Midwinter Night’s Drama, so I have nothing to compare it to. I think it is good, but I paid $160, and not sure it is worth that. 🥃
Probably not worth the $160 but it’s your first bottle so not too bad! It’s some good stuff and great for a winter pour 🥃
Act 11, Sc. 2 is tasty and crushable. Worth $140? Compared to the limited releases that have been coming out, I’d say maybe. It’s really good, but pricey. Good to go at $100.
Crushable is a great way to describe this one. It will go quick. $100 would be perfect price point!
High West becoming that school bully in the price/quality game haha. Stop testing the waters to see what you can get away with and give us our MWND!
Act 11, scene 3... Better than 10, Nice but not worth the price. Won't hunt it again, but happy I have it.
Agreed!
It's very very good but 150 is a joke
Agreed!
What was the political thing with high west?
Some of the values they promote do not align with ours.
@@3Bourboneers which ones do they promote? Not asking to start a fight. Just trying to figure it out.
All good! It really just has to deal with some organizations that they donate to. You can find more information on their website.
Fought the urge not to buy today at $160
We did the same. We saw a bunch of these on a bourbon hunting trip over the weekend all priced around $160. Definitely the most MWND we have ever seen on shelves. The production increase is noticeable.
Not buying this year. It was a stretch at 100, im out. Too low proof, too low age, too much competition, too much money. 125 is the utah price, everywhere else its 150 msrp.
Somehow we were able to grab it for $125. Agreed though that there is too much competition for this bottle to remain so popular
