From the singing in the cabana to breakfast before arrival you kept us totally captivated - although my anxiety levels were rather high at the thought of you loosing the Krug during the turbulence! The food presentation looked absolutely beautiful and I was impressed by your dedication to plough through as much as you did for our benefit.....did the crew roll you down the aisle???
Also, I have to say, you do have the look of a James Bond villain in those PJ's 😎

I loved this report! You made it so fun inserting little moments like Leonardo di Caprio turning down caviar, and showing us the wines, the food and the seating arrangement. How wonderful it is to see Cathay making a come back, after such a long and forced absence. A wonderfully memorable experience for you, with such a warm and highly professional world class Team. I cannot believe how good the presentation of your dining experience was and I can only imagine the flavours. I loved that you sampled a mixture of Western and Asian, with a spectacular wine list to match and didn't let the turbulence spoil anything, although its possibly great to allow the Red to oxidise before drinking! Hats off to Cathay for coming back to life with an abundance of high spec offerings, showing they still know how to look after their guests. The bed looked very spacious with a great level of privacy. Your father will have been with you in spirit so we raise a glass to him! I am very sorry to hear of his passing - my condolences to you and your family. Thank you very much for sharing with us all. 👏👏👏

Another well presented report, and well enjoyed. The turbulence at the start would not have been enjoyable, I was amazed to see that the glasses managed to stay upright. I once flew Cathy Pacific in economy and I must say my recollection was that their service was very good. Looking forward to your next adventure!

Still, they're ver interesting reviews of interesting airlines and destinations reports - and both airlines and destinations do still exist. So I will work on that now... 🙂

Hi Marc! Thank you so much! You have no idea how much your comment made me happy and also gave me a good reason to go back to my desk and continue for my next report. Sometimes not easy when you do this kind of extremely comprehensive yet entertaining reports, loaded with all the info - 100% honest and especially: fair. And the result is that so few people clicks it (except for the Cathay one, because almost nobody did it since the crisis), just because the title doesn't say "shocking" or "brutally honest" or "I survived business class on...." - whole everybody should be happy for the privilege first of all.
I do make some critical comments - when they're adequate, and people must know when something is not okay, but there's hardly ever a reason for bashing an airline or a person... It needs to be seen from both sides. When a RUclipsr behaves "entitled" on a plane (I believe there's never a reason for being entitled, in any situation of life), it's just logical that he won't be treated with silk gloves...
So, thank you so so so much, and I'm very happy that you'll spread the word, too! 😊😊😊😊

Very nice review! Was wondering how's the availability in regards to redeeming miles. I've been searching for a long time and it seems redemptions for first class is super hard to find.
Hi! Thank you for writing about that. To be honest, it's become very hard to find first class awards on Cathay now.
There was a very short moment when they started owning flights to Paris, and I booked the next moment I heard about it.
So my advice: Cathay WILL reintroduce first class on more routes again, and when you hear that, look out for award space on those words right away.
Your Father is with you. He will always be with you. From time to time you will receive subtle signs or things will happen as he sends you a signal or message.
Keep doing what you're doing, cherish those memories and keep singing !

Thank you, dear Alex! It's memories that we keep for out lifetimes. So it's great to make memories when we can. My dad died in a car crash, in a second he was gone, no goodbye possible. In all the sadness I'm just glad that we talked about everything and I didn't miss to say to him or do with him anything, and we really cared for each other. I also never postponed things to sometimes later. I've always told that to my friends too that is a mistake to postpone things. We never know what the future holds. You could have asked for some additional caviar (if they still have an additional tin) on top of your scrambled eggs for breakfast! A lot of the passengers who can afford to pay cash fares and fly often tend to just sleep and drink water during the flight. This leaves lots of uneaten food for those who redeem miles!

And it would be so much more comfortable for me. The problem with that is that the sound of the like plane take over very fast. That's why e. g. Josh also holds the microphone in his hand.
I just checked the whole video right away after your feedback, by the way. I thought here the quality is good, everything easy to understand (not on every video like that) - but maybe you mean the sound itself? I had a pretty low voice, being an opera singer... However, I need to check if I could change the settings to more treble.... Thank you again, feedback like this is really valuable.
@@TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition A lavalier microphone thats directional will fix the problem. It will also look more professional cliped on your shirt rather then you holding it. I was broadcasting tec for many years. I'm also a huge fan of opera. Keep singing.

Remember me fellow traveler, I am the first person to "Like" your video. That's because, I too flew Cathay Pacific First Class (from Los Angeles to Hong Kong) in 1986, and I wanted to compare the two. Well, your experience flying CP-1st BLEW MINE AWAY (I can tell just by the picture of your breakfast in bed & fully reclined seat). I think that the 'First Class' that I flew, would now be considered 'Couch-Plus,' except for my free drinks, actual 'Chinaware,' and feeble 'Amenity Pack' of eyeshades, slippers, & a shaving-kit . How times have changed.
NOTE: I will also be the first person to Subscribe because of this video, just to follow the positive Omens, so that maybe I can fly CP-1st yet again.

First Class was what today would be between premium economy and business class - but still very exclusive. Flying Was already way more exclusive by itself. I hope you'll like the video.
