  • Dr. Melissa Milanak knows about the importance of a good night’s sleep. With over 70% of Americans struggling to do what the body is designed to naturally and using incorrect strategies that make sleep worse, she has helped her clients use more effective approaches including the sleep window. Note: Individuals with untreated sleep apnea, a history of seizures, bipolar disorder, or other health conditions impacted by sleep restriction should consult with their medical doctor and/or a behavioral sleep medicine specialist before applying the sleep window technique. Melissa has transitioned from her career as a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in stress, trauma, and sleep into a business innovator who helps improve workplace effectiveness and optimize performance through better sleep. Her mantra: Fix your sleep and you improve your life.
    Dr. Milanak earned her PhD in clinical and community psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, followed by postdoctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She is currently an Associate Professor at MUSC’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, where she provides clinical services, directs continuing education, and conducts federally-funded research. Notably, she played a pivotal role in establishing MUSC’s Resiliency Clinic, offering support to healthcare workers during the pandemic.
