I'll try clarifying as much as I could. 1) Yes, Jewish men can wear whatever they want on their head (technically they don't even need to wear a yarmulka so long as their head is covered. One reason for this custom is so that you constantly remember G-d) 2) The straps on the head and arm are called tefilin. They're worn by the morning prayers (shachris) (there's a lot of meaning behind this custom but I won't get into it I'm sure you could find youtube videos explaining it) also as a side note that elderly man wasn't leading the prayers-Jewish prayers aren't like other religions-its not a sermon being given by the Rabbi. 3) They were showing two separate camps. The camp is definitely not both boys and girls. No true orthodox camp or school is mixed. 4) You were pretty spot on with regards to the meaning of the song. It's basically saying how the reward of doing one good deed (the schar of doing a mitzvah) is another mitzvah--one good deed leads to another. Loving these videos. Keep up the great work! So much good jewish music out there. (Edit: congrats on 100!)
Dam that was a lot of info! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain/break it all down. I'm glad you're enjoying my reactions, I'm learning a lot through them. And thanks so much for the congrats 🎉! We did it 😆
The song talks about doing kindness and good to others - a mitzvah. And whoever does a mitzvah with joy, God will grant him to do a greater mitzvah... (doing a mitzvah is a cornerstone in Judaism)
they’re wearing tefillin, and they start wearing it when they are bar mitzvah (13) during prayer. The song is about mitzvot (good deeds) and being rewarded by G-d :)

@@izzym1 I agree with that statement that mean and women are different and being equal doesn't mean the same for sure. But the world's gone a little coocoo lately when it comes to certain topics like that.
2:30 - Any head-covering is a head-covering. Now, because people don't wear Baseball Caps all day, having a had that doesn't have any other "propose" seems to be what one would be wearing. Also, some people hold by the stringency that when they pray, they put on a second head-covering. So that's why many would wear a Black-Hat/Fedora/Similar over the Yamaka.
You can wear a hat over a kippah/yarmulkah. The things they are wearing on their heads are called "tefillin." It is something worn during specific prayers every day. The message is the reward for a good deed is the opportunity to do more good deeds. It is not traditional dancing- just dad dancing (easy choreography kids could follow)

5:55 - The probability that these are different camps makes sense. I mean, we didn't see horses until now. Right? Also, I know there's a girls retreat with horse-back riding as it helps many women with anxiety issues. Thus, it would be safe to assume its a different camp.

@@BuildTimeMC I don't hate them. I just don't think they're that talented. Most of their music sounds the same, the songs are overly computerized, the kids' voices are okay but the overall pitch of most of their songs is too high and a bit annoying sometimes--it seems as if they're all just screaming. The choreography isn't anything special either nor are the lyrics. In every aspect miami is way better. The songs, the choreography, the talent. Just my opinion. 🤷♂️

ein ad milvado and Abba my Mordecai Shapiro the best songs
1) yes boys and men can wear caps over their yarmulkas
2) the straps are called tefillin
3) mordechai shapiro was a famous MBC member
The "black strips" are called "tefillin". From the age of 13 at a Bar Mitzvah, a Jewish boy prays with the tefillin all his life...
Do females pray as well? And if so, do they have a tefillin? Or a form of one?
@@PortuguesePai women don't need to have them thay already have a higher connection to G-d
Women pray, but we don't need the tefillin when praying
a lot of people love calling Judaism a sexist religion just because Judaism understands that men and women are different. Equal doesn't mean the same.

Daddy Dear by Mordechai Ben David is so special.
You definitely have to check out "mame Rachel" by the freilech orchestra
Hi,
Note: "Ch" in Hebrew/Yiddish is like in german, a voiceless velar frictave (check Wikipedia), not like in English that sounds like "k".
Loving these reacts ngl
Some more good singers are yaacov shwecky and Nissim black
😁
Yes- I think you will really get a kick out of nissim black.
You can wear anything on your head
And technically a regular hat can be considered as a yarmulka.
Check out the videos from Peter santenaello on the Jewish Hasidic Comunity.
You gota do L'chai Olamim by Matt Dubb FT Mordechai Shapiro ft Benny Friedman! Awesome song! Great videos btw. Keep it up

The song is all about the smallest good deed leads to the next good deed.
Zanvil Weinberger has voice that simply FLOWS
The best voice you’ll ever hear is Shulem..I don’t know about a specific song, but his voice is incredible
yes its the same grounds but 2 diff sides of the grounds so they dont really see each other

Does anyone know if Mordechai Shapiro was in the Miami boys choir as a young boy?
He was
He was pretty much their star soloist on the B’Derech HaTorah album. Great voice then & now.
@@hudis78 cool! Would love to see some clips..

mitzva is a good deed
As you see someonew does something good to one and that person ''repays'' it by doing another good deed
I think Mordechai Shapiro was in the Miami/Yeshiva Boys Choir.
The strap is callled tefilin

You are supposed wear 2 hats sometimes like during prayers. You can wear a cap or anything on your yarmulkes
The ch in a word is generally gutteral. But it might be easier to replace a ch with a k if you cant do the gutteral sound.
Mitzvah literally means commandment. It can mean mean good deed.
your comments are great. I was wondering if you've thought of having an orthodox jew help and explain what you are seeing?
