If you need a person to be outside showing you how to wheel the terrain you probably should'nt be on BBP. How did we get to the point in the off road world of having one steering wheel and two operators? Three dudes standing on the down hill side of a rig coming down a mountain, I see what the sherrif is dealing with now.
yes. it is officially closed. we were in telluride on 8/12 and saw vehicles coming down. we checked trails off road and the app said it was open. we ran it on 8/13. no issues. trail was open and fine. on 8/14 a group got a vehicle stuck and had to be rescued. the Sherriff then made the public statements that it was closed. we were on 550 a day later and there was an actual closed sign at the trailhead for BBP.
With two spotters giving conflicting directions it's not surprising accidents happen here.
