This is how my town did it. get it on the ballot, on a none election year, to earmark a certain % local taxes go to library. final tally: 29 for and 8 against. 17,000 pop. at the time.

Cops, for so long, have felt they don't have limits on their behavior nor do they have to follow certain laws. But now we have video and social media, and these people are finding out real quick that they can and will be held accountable for their actions. But some have to learn the hard way, through getting fired or arrested themselves. Things change slowly, but they are changing.

They always try to use the kids. A library isn’t just for kids. Every time I go to the library I see like maybe 2 toddlers because most of the kids are in school where they need to be. Everyone in management was great: Rick, Mary Kay, and Debra were all polite, respectful, and seem genuinely concerned at the behaviour of Rob/Paul going in to panic mode for no reason. I trust that Rob has been or will be counselled on letting management or security call police if necessary barring a *TRUE* emergency and hiding his name from a calm, professional member of the public who wanted to make a complaint. I'd say while that most of the library staff didnt fail on treatment, the biggest fail at the point I was watching to was the sarge looking to try to solicit a reason to escalate and do something about TT

Thank you for providing the phone numbers of the library and police. I have contacted both and told them the following things: The library is a limited public forum and per SCOTUS they have rights to make rules and policies, including limiting filming. Now, most libraries have done those rules and policies specifically because of people like you. If this library is fine without having them, fine. After speaking with them, that may change. Same with the police. If you are told not to go into a restricted area - and let's get this real straight - there is no LAW anywhere that you can cite that says there must be signage - all they have to do is tell you, which they did. What should have happened is the police should have been called and you should have been instantly trespassed for not leaving the restricted area. Of course, your "style", which is to never shut up and talking over everyone, just makes them want to not have to deal with you. However, give it a week or so and then go back there and let's see what happens.
