What I realised about watching chess videos for a few years now, is key is in the explanation. As a 1300, even i can understand this opening just from the way Fabi explained it in 30 seconds.
@@FelixTheForgotten Don't judge people's elo like that! For instance, i mainly play for fun, started really playing very late in life (around 40), i get my kicks from slow (30 mins each) games and sometimes i dont focus or do weird stuff for fun and lose 20 games in a row, other days, i get from 1200 to 1400 elo in a day and most games or puzzles i do seem to indicate a 1800+ elo strength. Some people just don't try that hard and enjoy chess for the creativity and also play with almost 0 theory, they simply treat chess as a game, without seeking to always be competitive!
@@sebbyh9764baguette gang 🤘 I bet I would lose a lot of rating in an opening where my opponents aren't guaranteed to hang a central pawn in the first 12 moves hahaha
I play something quite similar a lot of the time as black, but rather than play Knight a4, I switch the knight to king side with Knight e7 followed by Knight g6. With my bishops occupying queen side positions, and both knights occupying king side positions, I get a lot of options attacking a king side castled king. The obvious counter to this strategy is if white ends up castling queen side, which leaves my minors redundant.
At 6:33 g5 would make a double threat and I think Aman would have won piece. Instead Aman played fxe5 Bxe7 Qxe7 and now White won the piece back. In the g5 variation Bxe7 aint possible so black wins a piece
I stopped playing this because like 50% of my opponents go for the queen trade after 7.c3 d6 d4 Bb6 dxe5 Nxe5 Nxe5 dxe5 Qxe8+. It's still equal and playable, but with so many people doing it, it got a bit stale. Is this line in the course?
I saw the move Qxe5 immediately. It clearly wins a piece and white has little counterplay. I understand this is a chill game but it is nowhere near the level expected from world no.2.
If Aman was facing Magnus then he would have been terrified and made a series of blunders but against Fabi he played really well. Odd when you consider Fabi is 99% as good as Magnus
I've been playing this opening for a straight month and I'm just 1100 elo 😂😂 I just made it up and it felt pretty solid! Guess I have to work on my middlegame lol
Fabiano is a true chess buddy 😩
a true chess brah you might say…okay i’ll see myself out

How have you played chess for a few years and you're stuck at 1300?
@@FelixTheForgotten Indeed, haha
@@FelixTheForgottentheres people who have been playing for 10 years and are still 900. People are stuck or happy in their own ways.

I got to 1300 after about 6 months. I stopped playing as much after that, just watch videos. Thanks for your concern tho.@@FelixTheForgotten
Good stuff. Fabiano is such a soft-spoken guy, being able to play a casual game with him must be a lot of fun~
Looks geniunly like a feel good moment, you are a fantastic ambassador for chess Fabi! Salute from Sweden
The greatest setting for a chess game.. two of our best sportsmen on a rooftop in t-shirts playing to help us get better.. thanx..
grandmasters are so good, they invent new openings that look like every game played at the 1000 lvl
This isn't new, it's a new variation within the archangel in the Spanish.
Great battle! Fabi makes it look easy - getting the hogs of war and a Queen too, right there!
Impressive build-up to a crushing finish!
I know a certain youtuber who urged that no one below 1600 should touch the Ruy Lopez with a 10ft pole
Should have put a virtual board up immediately. Definitely worth the little extra effort.
Thanks for the feedback 🙏🏼
much love! @@chessbrah
6:30 Qxe5?
yeah why not play it?
@@dmoeller0 Would be bad pr for Fabi's course
Casual game between friends. Sometimes, you need to give them a chance before you crush them. 🍻
Yeah lichess says -5 for Fabi, I'm surprised he allowed that given he's made a course on the opening.
It’s funny, even at 1100 I’m starting to get more and more people playing the Spanish with white
I never see it at 1500 because I play the french 😅

if they are going for the Fried Liver it is pretty easy to refute with the Traxler.
its almost like its the most popular opening of all time...

“New opening” looking for the guy that says he’s been playing this since before Fabiano was born.
More content like this! Awesome guys!

the surround sound is insane
I am looking forward to Fabi's new course. ... A question: Black's Queen Knight went to a5 -- in this line, is the Queen Knight supposed to go to g6 ?
that’s right bro👍 it should go to g6 via e7 (as far as i understood it)
Ruy Lopez is so sharp so many lines in that opening.
Play like a world championship runner-up!
Missing Qxe5 wasn't a miss now, was it? ;) There's no way u missed both Qxe5 and g5, both obviously better than fxe5
Someone played this exact opening and crushed me
At 6:32 black had big advantage but after he took on e5 it was equal again, what was the best move?
He should have taken with queen and would be much better
I saw the move Qxe5 immediately. It clearly wins a piece and white has little counterplay.

Love u Fabiiiiiii
I thought Clarissa Yip played this opening too
The background has big south spain vibes, where was this?
Barcelona
Add a live chess map overview pllllzzz
I always play that variation as black in the Ruy Lopez.. GM mindset (1200 ELO) xd
Does not the title seem to be awkward, gm shows his reportaire to the public?
How fast he is moving 😱
Ohh sorry I was watching in 2X 😅
Love the content!
Aman is a giant
goodgame! fabi is the nicest guy
Wait did he resign? In an equal position by eval bar?
he had like 2 secs, vs 45 secs so he risigned.
It was 2 secs left vs 45 secs
Several serious blunders by black, despite better overall position in the middle game.
This was enjoying to watch.
Wow great stuff!

Odd when you consider Fabi is 99% as good as Magnus
It was not all correct 💀 XD
Very cool vid
The R/L audio thing makes this so hard to listen to on headphones
i meal to fabiano
Fabi is so strong ; too much for me.
cool name
Complicated

Hi
You can tell these guys dont know anything about chess
One of them is one of the best chess players of all time! I'm sure you know who.
playing 3 min with no increment is really lame at the end...
