The constitution protects both concealed and open carry it explicitly states BEAR and ARMS which protects both forms Cary and all weapons that can physically be carried.
@ And yet they have, and have enforced it. SMC 12A.14.080 City of Seattle v. Evans -- “ in the recent Seattle case ZAITZEFF v. CITY OF SEATTLE (2021), it was held that "As law-abiding citizens traditionally used swords for self-defense, we conclude that both constitutions protect Zaitzeff's sword as an arm." However, it is essential to note that the court improperly applied interest balancing, contradicting the stance taken in NYSRPA v BRUEN. The latter case abolished interest balancing or intermediate scrutiny in deciding Second Amendment cases. In NYSRPA v BRUEN, the court held, "The City responds that a 'reasonably necessary' standard applies to the article I, section 24 issue, and that the ordinance meets that test. And the City says that intermediate scrutiny applies to the Second Amendment issue, and that the ordinance is substantially related to an important government interest." This highlights the need for consistency in legal standards when evaluating Second Amendment cases and raises questions about the application of interest balancing in ZAITZEFF v. CITY OF SEATTLE” The 9th circuit agrees.
To each his own, I'm a knife enthusiast to the core...but, I never liked OTF's, or Stilleto type switch blades...old fashioned preferences on my part I guess. Even these newer blade grinds and shapes , ( tantos, compound grinds, fancy , exotic blades , etc) just don't grab my attention.
@johnruiz6743 - that's why it's a "PERSONAL preference". Some dudes refuse to buy premium steel, others can't live without it. Who knows why our brains do this ?
This isn't even a valid question since the highest law of the land (U.S. Constitution) states people have the right to bear arms and doesn't state which type of arms. Knifes of any kind are legal period nationwide due to this because all other laws are null and void as they can not supersede the constitution as the constitution is the highest law of the land, period, hard stop. Same goes for guns, etc. Just because a law is made doesn't mean it is itself legal or enforceable. They may enforce it but that will just mean with the right lawyer, you become rich.
I don't think balisong origins are up for debate. They were originally French, where it was brought to other countries like the Phillipines, and Benchmade (previously Pacific Cutlery) brought them up to modern USA standards in the 80s. Now there are a myriad of production, semi-production, and custom makers who have brought them 2 steps forward again with even more iterative improvements. Now there are a ton of perfectly machined, well balanced flippers with all of the aesthetic, customization, and function that you'd expect from all of the high end folders that the non-balisong people would appreciate but are otherwise unaware of because of how the balisong niche is bifurcated.

Luckily she didn't know the legal law she could have charged you with felony conspiracy against rights and felony deprivation of rights under color of law in violation of Title 18 U.S.C. section §241 and §242.
A city has no legal lawful authority or jurisdiction to pass or enforce any law contradictory to the United States constitution period.
The constitution protects both concealed and open carry it explicitly states BEAR and ARMS which protects both forms Cary and all weapons that can physically be carried.

And yet they have, and have enforced it.

City of Seattle v. Evans
--
“ in the recent Seattle case ZAITZEFF v. CITY OF SEATTLE”
The 9th circuit agrees.
They are not full tang.
That's why I'm eventually getting a Buck 112 automatic.
Whether the knife opens by button or manually doesn't change what it is! Italian stilletto or OTF? Give me a break! 🤣👎

What the F auto gearbox on car not illegal?
The second amendment is the privilege, immunity (RIGHT)of every single individual natural born or naturalized American citizen in the united states of America.
🙄
"Are switchblades legal?".....not in UK or Germany. You will go to jail with one of them ;) Even with a one hand opener which locks.
