    Lyrics:
    I can't remember anything
    Can't tell if this is true or dream
    Deep down inside I feel to scream
    This terrible silence stops me
    Now that the war is through with me
    I'm waking up, I cannot see
    That there is not much left of me
    Nothing is real but pain now
    Hold my breath as I wish for death
    Oh please, God, wake me
    Back in the womb it's much
    too real
    In pumps life that I must feel
    But can't look forward to reveal
    Look to the time when I'll live
    Fed through the tube that sticks in me
    Just like a wartime novelty
    Tied to machines that make me be
    Cut this life off from me
    Hold my breath as I wish for death
    Oh please, God, wake me
    Now the world is gone, I'm just one
    Oh God, help me
    Hold my breath as I wish for death
    Oh please, God, help me
    Darkness imprisoning me
    All that I see
    Absolute horror
    I cannot live
    I cannot die
    Trapped in myself
    Body my holding cell
    Landmine has taken my sight
    Taken my speech
    Taken my hearing
    Taken my arms
    Taken my legs
    Taken my soul
    Left me with life in hell

    I've always felt that bands from this era should down tune as they get older to compensate for their singers voices getting deeper. Also so that they don't strain their voice or something.

    • @1337million
      @1337million 10 лет назад +23

      In most cases it sounds better as well, at least in my opinion.
      ... But what about the Drop-C players from this era? (if there were any at all) how low would they have to go? Deepest tuning I know of is Drop-A... Best guess is Drop-B which is really deep...
      (overthinking music, yeah!)

    • @Painkiller59210
      @Painkiller59210 10 лет назад +9

      1337million Well, Drop-G is possible for a 6-string guitar, just ask Dimebag Darrell. If you want to go lower, you can find Meshuggah playing in F (the standard tuning for an 8-string guitar is F#, so they play a half-step down).

    • @MrFuck1006
      @MrFuck1006 10 лет назад +8

      Jack Daniels 7 string tuning or lower i've played in (For metal): B standard - Drop A - Bb - A standart - Drop G - Ab - G standard - Drop F# - Gb - F# standard - Drop E - F#b - E standard (a hole octave down)
      And then E / B / D / A / D / G / B / E

      I agree. 90s pop was kind of like the brian adams stuff. It had meaning.

    To tell you this they tuned down The Thing That Should Be back in the late 80's til 96 when they played all the songs back in 1996 just saying.

    Does Metallica know that you took audio of them playing live and posted it on RUclips?

  • @SirOttis

    It sounds better tuned down to me. It compensates for the void of bass in the mix......

  • @wrongnote85
    @wrongnote85 11 лет назад +6

    due math, lol.
    'almost 15 years' means some thing like 13 or 14 years. IF 96 was the first year that they played live in Eb tuning, than that would be 17 years ago. therefore almost 20 years is far more accurate than almost 15 years.
    there, i due'd the math for you.

      Big 'Ol Dingus not so much twerking but that other stuff yeah. I can say I was open minded and gave rap a chance and when I compared it to music of the old days, this persons right, it’s no competition. Rock/Metal from the 20th century is the absolute best

      I don’t agree with comments like these. You’re not taking survivorship bias into account - older art has the benefit of being filtered and curated by the test of time. Of course it’s going to seem better than today’s popular music, which we’re consuming in real time. Popular music in the 80’s was also about sex, drugs, partying, and related bullshit, and there is in fact modern rap and hip hop that is thoughtful (Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly comes to mind)
