      @@JackDiamond_FBOWI just watched a video it’s still in Eb live as of 2023. That said I did see them play Seek and Destroy in D standard back in 2009.

    It's amazing how the tonality change can make sound this masterpiece like a new song to me... We are used to the E standard tuning and that's why when we here a different tuning we think is better...

    Metallica was probably the most famous metal band that used standard E tuning, most thrash/glam/power metal bands especially in the mid to late 80s used E flat tuning

    if you have a computer, check your volume settings and click enhancements. You should find a pitch shift option; use music theory on this one:the pitch is half a step down. I like this sound.

      Wrong. The original recording is recorded in E standard but not at A=440 Hz but at A=444/5
      The original is recorded at a slightly higher pitch than standard so when you tune the song down by a semitone you'll still have the same difference.

      It's a little known fact that on the early records the songs where played slower than actual record tempo and sped up in post. Also it was played at something like 1/4 step down which is why it won't sound exactly like the record if you play along

      Yeah it's slightly sharp like the album is, I usually just use the intro and tune my g to the open g of the acoustic in the intro and go tune my guitar off that and it helps, alot
