For the most part I crochet baby blankets so when I buy yarn it’s with that in mind. I’ve learned that I only like working with 3&4 ply yarn. I make sure the yarn is machine wash and dry & I don’t work with wool. My leftover yarn is worked into what I call “whatever” blankets using various patterns. Almost everything I make is donated to my local pregnancy center
I’ve been working on purging my yarn because most of it was given to me so I didn’t necessarily choose the colors weights quantities. I still need to do another round but I am so happy that I am finally making a project out of a yarn I have tried FOUR TIMES to destash. It reminds me of one fabric Bernadette de stashed “this brings me joy, lots of joy. But anything I make of this will bring me the antithesis of joy”😂. I found the perfect pattern and will destash whatever I have leftover once I finish, because making something with it was the goal not using it all up.
I love women like you. This is my opinion, but people who are detached from material things and can give it away and help those less fortunate buy it and the fact that they think of their kids and family first is so beautiful. I hope someday I can work through my stash and be as loving as you. Sorry if I am exaggerating.
So, my daughter was getting into crocheting, and we thought we did awesome buying a starter pack for her; but she just quit. 5:35-5:53 was a lightbulb moment for me. ❤️💡
so cute that you call that a stash :D , no but great advice and i really need to do this (yarnhoarder ) but not really shore that I want to know how much I have :D

That's awesome.
Thank you
I recently donated some yarn to my local library. They have knitting and crochet craft classes
Awesome!

I know exactly what you mean! How exciting to find the right pattern finally.
I’m impressed there was only one bin. Mine is in 3 plus two totes. Time to devote working from stash.
That should be plenty to work with!
I have been wanting to try this method for a while now. Gotta start somewhere. Thank you for sharing you progress with us.
Best of luck to you. I hope this was helpful!

THANK YOU!!!!!

@@Lenora81 wow, so she wasn't enjoying it because of the yarn?
@@BeccaJNorman it was fraying and making it too difficult to work with it.
@@Lenora81 yeah, that can be a problem.
@@BeccaJNorman and it wasn't bringing joy; just like you said.

Lol. Sounds like you need it then. You don't have to thin it down as much a me but you might find some amazing yarn you had forgotten about!
