Thanks Alan for taking me to my favourite place in the world, we hired a beautiful old wooden cruiser from Martham Boats in 1997 and the fist place that we moored at was just a few yards before the bend on Horsey cut and it was one of the best holidays that I've had, (if not the best). Take care and all the best. Stevie
How about that for coincidence. I’ve only hired a day boat on the Broads, so not had any real experience of them. It’s great to know it’s one of your favourite places. All the best, take care🤠
The last time I visited Horsey and the mill was in 1977, the third week in October with temperatures touching 20 deg C, when my wife was expecting our first child. We also walked to the beach as well, a really wonderful place. Haven't been back since but we hope to next year. Great video bringing back many fond memories.
Really enjoyed the video. I've spent many happy holidays sailing and cruising the Norfolk Broads. Horsey is one of my favourite places. There's a footpath that goes across the fields to the sea where there are often seals.
Evening Alan, what a fascinating place. I've never visited this area of the country, but it certainly seems to present an ideal destination for a break.I love watching these old parrs of our history, such beautiful things to see. Many thanks for sharing.....🍷🍷
Evening Steve. I’m glad you enjoyed watching, I’m more familiar with North Norfolk but the whole area is a lovely part of the country. All the best Alan🥂
Brought back memories went there in 2011 as it was near water (love boats), incidentally ona different vlog ibadan cousin called John Fowler butnot the Steam engine one.😂
Thanks for your good wishes Ginger, glad you enjoyed watching. Very best wishes to you. Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year, hope you enjoy it as well.
Hi Paul, that’s a great idea but from a quick check it seems to be closed then, though it would be viewable from the outside. Anyway, enjoy your trip to Norfolk.
@@paulturner7837 The NT website said it was partly open in December but I think that may be for being able to walk around the outside. You would need to make your own checks.

Hi Robert, that's the year before I visited, another viewer said he believes the sails now work. I wonder how many John Fowlers' there are. Cheers
Alan thank you for the interesting vlog. It’s like I’m having a visit to your country with you. Wishing you good health and a wonderful autumn

Enjoyed the vlog Alan, well done
Many thanks Hugh, all the best.
Very interesting Alan, I’ve not been there before but will be staying in Norfolk early December. Weather permitting, I will go and see it for myself 👍

@@InterestInHeritage oh thanks for checking Alan 👍

A diagram of how it works would be most interesting.
I don’t recall now but I think there was a diagram of some sort on the wall.
Hi Alan, I think I'm correct in saying that the NT had it in sail in 2019.
Hi Jon, that’s great news, let’s hope it’s still in working order.
