Couple of points. The military chute the FBI at first gave Cooper needed what is called a static line, which opens the chute at moment the jumper goes out the door. You see this in the movies where the G.I.'s go streaming out of the plqn3 and the chutes pop open. Presumably the static line chute could be opened manually but this incident is strong evidence that Cooper knew jumping very well. In the military configuration, the rear stairs were controlled from the cockpit. Cooper appaqrently knew the military configuration of the plane but not the civilian configuration. His behavior when he saw the money also could be explained as excitement at the realization that his plot would succeed. But this part of it might best be left to trained behavioral profilers. His reaction to the money suggest that he had been a dry camel in the money department for some time, pointing to a loss of job or career entirely as the stressor. There is a wealth of information, including both material and behavioral clues, but who has put the clues together into an entire profile and work backwards? Not too many people. I'm promoting the idea to the community. I think he's right there in a photo in some company or public archive, or in a newpaper or magazine. Or maybe in a documentary. I don't consider him a folk hero, but I think it is possible that his backstory contains some secret of American or world history. His story forward might be a good adventure yarn but it is irrelevant. What is important is who he was and was his story was before the event. The money he was given was primarily Series 1969 bills, not much of a problem to pass in the 1970's. After a few months, no one was looking for the money anymore. He could have spent it off piecemeal, or laundered it through casinos a few hundred at time. Or, it might have rotted in the rainforest along with his body. The tough thing to explain is the money find at Tena Bar in early 1980. I think he buried it there a few years later in honor or Tina the stewardess. He wanted to send her a note telling her the money was there, but he never did.
I only heard about DB Cooper from people talking about it after the Loki trailer. That lead me to this episode, I was curious about what this whole incident was.
Awesome. But 😂 - they dispatch a Blackbird... to try and catch a guy who stole $200,000... I bet it cost $200,000 just to put that thing in the air and it couldn’t even find him🤦♂️
What better way to test the surveillance capabilities, if they find him great success, if they don’t, well nobody knows they were up there looking anyway.
Rackstraw would have been 27 I think it wasn't him. Tina said the man was in his mid to late 40's. Rackstraw and copy cat are eliminated. Also they seen a picture of Rackstraw and said it wasn't him
Considering that you can put a pencil through the temporal bone using a pen to pierce through soft tissue such as the throat would be easy so it's not very far fetched.
i wish i can buy the new banjo shirt bc i’m going to move to tennessee here soon and it would be nice to show my family the shirt. But alas i’m broke as shit. anyway keep sucking Master Suck
It's True, he has spoken on it and gave as good of info on it as anyone else has He's from West Linn Oregon and believes he knows the true identity of DB Cooper.
Flight crew knew when he jumped and went by were they were at when he jumped. It could have been slightly off a minute or 2 but they are pretty precise about that. The biggest mystery is what happened after he jumped. We literally have nothing but 5800 dollars of the money
When he butchers idioms, like "you can't outsmart a fox", it reminds me of *uck ass from Boondock Saints. FUCK ASS! (I am not, however, an extremely successful comedian and podcast host)
The podcast is finally on RUclips!! Hail nimrod!
Great episode! The Italian guy who fled to Rome could be its own episode. 💯
First time actually seeing Dan perform anything, did not expect that he had some gnarly tattoos!
Just did the escape room in PF with this story, came straight home & had to see if you had a timesuck! You always make my day!!
Wow! This oughta be goood. Listening to it now:) Thx for a new one, Timesuck!
This is awesome, keep it up

Bobert!! I've often asked the same thing about Dickard. Like how did Richard become Dick... There had to be someone named Dickard at one time!!
crystal patrick Richard > Rick > Dick
Same way you go from Margaret > Marg > Meg > Peg
I’ve missed Pootie & Juju so much!!!
I need more Podi and JuJu in my life
I only heard about DB Cooper from people talking about it after the Loki trailer. That lead me to this episode, I was curious about what this whole incident was.
Is it bad that I use these podcasts as sleeping material?
Not at all fallow nimrod

I thought witnesses said DB Cooper looked to be in his 40s. Rackstraw was in his 20s at the time

Yeah Dan, theres no better feeling than killing the enemy with a nice ball point.

Cheal Sonnen know's who the real DB Cooper is but he's not telling.
Wtf?
Sure
It's True, he has spoken on it and gave as good of info on it as anyone else has
He's from West Linn Oregon and believes he knows the true identity of DB Cooper.
How do they know for sure where Cooper jumped?
Flight crew knew when he jumped and went by were they were at when he jumped. It could have been slightly off a minute or 2 but they are pretty precise about that. The biggest mystery is what happened after he jumped. We literally have nothing but 5800 dollars of the money
If you do you're own research I would be leary of anything the FBI says. They tend to tell you a story that only fits there narrative
Is the mic off?
You should join Joe Rogan on his podcast
Please
Just said this yesyerday!
I’m sure Dan would once the opportunity existed 👍🏻
No, it doesn't make sense. Or, that's what the ILLUMINATE wants you to think! I mean oh my heck!
01:17 😹😹😹
Bradley Cooper as DB Cooper. 😅
It was Albert Weinberg, making his comic a reality
Hail Nimrod!
