Don’t know how many Switch 2s need to be made for launch but since the PS5 sold 4.5M in the first quarter alone, I’d say starting at 5M is a must. I like the old AC games but I don’t really have any interest in going back to them.
And that's cause they couldn't make any more. Even if scalpers with bots were not an issue they probably could have 10 and still be sold out provided the 3D Mario and next Pokemon Legends game manage to deliver.
I don't know what Shane is talking about regarding Switch in Japan, with 33 Million it is the best selling gaming device (Handheld OR Console) of alltime!! More than Gameboy, 3DS and even DS. Plus its lightyears ahead of PS, PS2 or (S)NES. It's literally the biggest thing in Gaming ever in Japan, with Animal Crossing and Splatoon 3 breaking records never seen before (I think Animal Crossing is the best selling game off alltime there....)
Out of about 30 gaming podcasts I've listened to this is probably the most reliable one in terms of quality.

Correction: The Switch is the highest selling console of all time in Japan, surpassing the DS. It's now over 32+ million sold at this point.
Yeah, Shane REALLY surprised me with that tidbit. 😮 Japan's more than 1/5 of the whole install base. They're crazy about Switch over there...
