The question becomes, should you trust their recommendation? - Хобби
Do you Trust these Best Hearing Aid Ranking Websites?
Absolutely not!
Follow the money!
no even major audiologist failed in my case doctors recommended widex evoke f2 4400 while settled for signia 7nx.
as i have low score in speech in noise i need more channel to correctly reduce noise. i suspect how i will perform with oticon more 1 for upgrade.. no one can assess unless they trail. even if government allow online sale i do not think there will be revenue loss to audiologist. even if audiologist give only service portion.
now just talk in current is how different oticon more and signia AX in implementation of NOISE REDUCTION ? is oticon recording noise and filtering spectrum and signia is estimating with old fashion like directionality and winner filter tecnique ? can you differentiate which method will be better for people who can not perform good in background noise situation.
No.
The problem is even hearing aid professionals are also have tie ups with some manufacturers then they promote only those hearing aids.
Thanks, Cliff. Everyone with hearing issues should know who they can trust as well as which hearing articles they should believe. I'm so glad that you try to help educate as best you can. 💕
You are exactly right about the hearing aid market.... I bought a high priced Starkey Picasso I1600 several years ago, and it's pretty good. It was custom made for my right ear. It has a snug fit, and I'm pretty happy with it. It's not perfect, but my audiologist said that no device in the world can duplicate human hearing. I felt confident in working with a doctor of audiology and she was very specific about what to expect, and I have a very good warranty which for me is Icing on the cake
I’ve been watching your RUclips videos ever since I found you! I’ve been wearing hearing aides for 3 years now. I trust the information you share with usand don’t rely on all the other garbage rankings. Thank you for sharing. You are very credible!
Dr. Cliff, thank you for keeping us educated and in front of the sneaky stuff going on in this space. It is difficult enough as a consumer to navigate the search to locate a trusted audiologist and then to dial in the next devices that we are committing to for the next few years for better quality of life. I for one appreciate all of the hard work to put out this content, on top of running your business.
Completely agree, I am an independent Audiologist in the UK and other independence will be scared to sell certain providers as they could be price matched from a large retail outlet. My view is to fit the technology for the right person and their lifestyle. I do my due diligence on all manufacturers as best I can.
Another great video! I was recently contracted by one of the sites in this video to rank some hearing aids. As a doctor who's done research on hearing aids, I figured this would be a great way to educate our patients. However, when I was given the list of companies to review, 3 of the biggest companies were not listed, and I was told that the sponsors (6 online retailers, 2 amplifiers) needed to be in the top 10... No thanks. Trust your audiologist!
Thanks for being one of the good guys Amit! 🙏
Great information Dr Cliff to remind people that rankings on socal media are more often than not simply paid advertisements. I got my Phonak Marvels from an Audiologist that did real ear measurements as well as had a 3 year service program that covered fittings, adjustments, cleanings, and repairs. 😊
Thank you Dr Cliff! I noticed this too! The Viking Warrior, reveals the truth!! A fellow part Norwegian here, and happy owner of Phonak Audio Life hearing aids w/ActiveVent receivers! 👍🏻
Perfect timing on this video. I have just started my search for hearing aids. This video is a must watch for anyone looking for hearing aids. Thank you.
Absolutely agree with what you say about the hearing aids are only as good as the one programming them. I have been through an up and down battle for over a year. After a second opinion from another audiologist the problems I have had are totally gone with a few adjustments to my program.
Great information dr Cliff. I bought hearing aids from supposedly one of the top hearing aid manufacturers in the world. They never suited my hearing loss. I had the audiologist out to visit and make alterations but they couldn’t get it right. I even had a visit from a one of the manufacturers representatives. He made the matter even worse. In the end they offered me the latest hearing aids at a reduced price, which I had to fight for. They could not adjust the new hearing aids to suit my hearing loss needs. It is so frustrating that I spent thousands of £s - Sterling, on these hearing aids, but they are of no use to me.
Great video Dr. Cliff. Very good info! Wish you were closer I’d make an appointment if you were taking new clients.
We had some success with utilizing our Consumer Reports subscription to research prior to purchasing hearing aids for my mom. They did a good job of breaking down features and allowed us to see which features would be the best "fit" for her wants/needs. The fact that CR doesn't receive advertising $ was also a big help...
Love this video. Can be applied to a lot of products. Find a good AuD and working with them is the best way to get what you need.
Totally agree!
Thanks for your video and explaining this situation.
Everything you say makes perfect sense and I totally agree with you. Problem is - how do you go about picking an audiologist? That seems to be the hardest but most important part...... Thanks for postin!
Thanks Richard. I started the Best Practice Pro Network to try and help solve this dilemma. You can find those providers on DrCliffAuD.com
3 years in, I am still wearing the Phonak Marvel. I know that there are new models with great new technology since I’ve purchased the marvel that sounds 100% better than what I have (I chose the rechargeable hearing aides. I would love to be able to get the more updated Phonak’s but cannot justify due to the high cost of my :Marvels. I was working at the time I purchased my Phonak Marvel’s and now I am retired and on a fixed income. I love being able to connect my Marvels to Bluetooth - it’s absolutely amazing!
Thank you!
And to be even more startling this is happening in lots of other industries: software, digital Televisions, musical keyboard rankings and more. Also many reviews are paid reviews. Vendors give free products for stellar reviews which are really just ads. So the work you do with hearing aids counters that in this space, thank you for that.
Thanks Doc. Good job, as usual
Great job 🙏🏾
Dr Cliff, you and my hearing professional are the only two I trust. Thanks for being you!
Thanks Phil, I appreciate all your support over the years. 🙏
I wish I could like this video 10x. So much junk on the internet and articles like these trick people into thinking they've actually investigated these products.
Hi Doctor Cliff, I really appreciate your videos! Thank you for this. I have to ask you something. Can you advise/recommend any good trusty hearing audiologist here in the San Jose Ca or around the bay area. Planning to get one so I can hear properly. Thank you for your response and happy holidays.
Thank you for this most important video!
Great video. Have you ever reviewed the Lively hearing aids? The tele-health model is quite appealing to me due to my lifestyle. (Full time RVer)
If you have reviewed them, could you link that video. If not, do you plan to review them soon!
Please keep the great videos coming. Thanks
Well informed video.
An honest expression of opinion,God Bless you, thanks
Find a good AuD and let them give you suggestions on witch one is best for your needs, did this 4 years ago and don't regret it at all. Thanks for the great videos.
Wow, thank you so much for all your advice. I will never buy hearing aids on a website💕👍🏻👏🏼
Good job
This is all true and the same for any consumer goods you search online for, from cars to televisions etc.
It totally sucks!
Thank you Dr. Cliff for spreading the word about hearing aid choices. I wish I read this before I bought some Nano Hearings. I don't have to tell you what happened to me. Of course, I got scammed by them.
Dr. Cliff can you do a video on hearing loss and NF
My audiologist will tell me what she feels will be the hearing aid to suit my needs, pull up the information on the hearing and we go over it.
The best hearing aid I've used so far was suggested by a really good audiologist who was much more thorough than others I've seen in the past. Phonak was the suggestion made. They worked so much better for me than any other I've ever used. More comfortable as well. I've worn Oticon, Unitron, and Siemens before being put into Phonak BTE.
I love bright colored hearing aids. 😆 I also choose a bright color so that if it comes out when I'm figure skating, I can find it before someone's blade does.
I’ve noticed there are so many hearing aid adds on tv. They’re popping up every day it seems. Who really thinks you could buy quality hearing aids for $79.99 or some other ridiculously low price. Sadly most often it’s seniors on limited budgets who might fall for these HAs.
Unfortunately, many individuals are ripped off by these online amplifier companies who over-promise results.
Taking the bull by its horns!
Paid advertising is a major trap. Follow ranking always from trusted source. Or pay the price. Keep up the great work!
Hats off
I’ve worn HAs for 37 years. Sadly, soon as OTC Hearing Aids are approved (one day) in the US, it’ll get even worse as everybody under the sun will be trying to pushing their products claiming to be “#1 ranked Hearing Aid in such and such list” and people will get even more confused and fall for this predatory type of advertisement.
One of the biggest reasons why I’m not overly keen on OTC cause it’s not going reduce pricing of major brands. It’ll just make an even bigger mess of the choices and potentially harm folks who do not know better.
So where do we go from here in regards to getting new hearing aids?
Please advise
Cheers
Hey doc , Can SSHL happen again ? I already have it in my left ear. Scared about another episode .
You can't believe how timely this is. I just saw a patient yesterday who's husband brought up this type of advertising. I explained it to him that basically it's what you said, but now I also have your video to show him as well. I actually copied the link into the Sycle appointment log for her follow-up visit next week. Time permitting, I'll have them watch it.
It's criminal, but that's the world we live in.
To many of the 'experts', this is just a way of making a living (hopefully to keep them from making money by crime).
(Rant deleted . . .)
Good video, Cr. Cliff
This frustrates me as well. Most of their junk is not a real hearing aid. But the average person does not know the difference. Thanks for reminding us!
My hearing aids on Bluetooth sound great no problems but in a room or listening to music the volume will drop. They have worked on them and they come back great but shortly the volume starts dropping again. The audiologist has replaced them with new units and the same thing happened again. I replace the wax filters and the domes on regular basis. My ears are clean. Do you have any ideas? Enjoy your vlogs!!! Thanks in advance
Thank you Doc , I bought some crap hearing aids that were junk, I found your site and thought the best thing for me was to go to trained Dr like yourself. And I’m so glad I did !! I can hear way better and now I understand about why I’m experiencing hearing loss more in one ear and not so much in the other. I believe all people need to see an Audiology Doctor before they start sticking anything in there ears.
I love to hear that! Sometimes it takes being ripped off with a piece of junk before you find something that works.
@@DrCliffAuD not only that Doc, if I used a amplifier on both ears it could cause damage to my good ear , and believe me I’m so great full to you for sharing your knowledge 👍✌️
My audiologist let my try only 1 brand to try >Oticon but in 3 different price category
My first was oticon gene 1, 1,(1week) then Oticon Opn s1 (2 weeks) and now Oticon Ruby
Price range will be 1,300eu , 4,400eu and 2,300eu in both ears
I still don’t know which one😴
I love your thumbnail. 😂😂😂 Your awesome!
Looking for hearing aids and I quickly came to the conclusion that the whole market is full of pirates….
It was interesting that you said hearing aids are only as good as the audiologist who is programming them, I have just ordered Phonak p90 s but they have only done a standard hearing test and I pick them up in 2 weeks. I am now wondering if they have done enough tests to programme them correctly.
I guess you'll find out when they fit you. Makes sure they do Real Ear Measurement.
In addition, the hearing aid companies and the audiologists that sell the products will NOT disclose the price of a hearing aid. You have to schedule a consultation so they can pressure you into a sale with exorbitant profit margins. Don't believe me? Try to find the price of ANY model if you can (not amplifiers like Lively, etc.)
Hello help me with a professional opinion if you choose hearing aids from the list
widex evoke 440-fs
signature Charge&Go 7 Nx.
widex evoke 330-fs
what is the best way to make a choice?
Take the recommendation of your audiologist.
@@DrCliffAuD the audiologist offered these three to choose from. I do not know which of these is more promising and better
@@zybovm4211 they are letting you choose?
@@DrCliffAuD yes
I got a call so fast I don't know if it's a scam , cause I mentioned I am a pensioner the caller I spoke to was very reluctant was not to assist but money was the problem
Pardon my ignorance, but could you define what is meant by "generic amplifier"?
Hi Dear Cliff , Do you know Chinese Models , I am going to buy some good quality and cheap Hearing aids from Chinese manufacturers but i dont know which companies or which models are good ones 🙏
I got my hearing aids based on your professional opinion. I did the right choice.🙏🏼
Doc cliff i need your help could you please answer me!!?!
I personally believe that Lively does have fantastic customer service.
Can hearing aids help with auditory processing disorder?
Yes, but you will still need APD training with the hearing aids.
LMAO on the preview of this video🤣
So what's the best hearing aid.
Same thing applies to "best" lists on the internet for all kinds of products, Cliff. "Best hiking boots for 2021," for example, and countless other products.
I know, but hearing loss is a health issue. Just sucks.
Maybe a little remorseful of the double bird. ?
👍
Wow
I have discovered that most of the best type videos take you to sites like MD hearing aid. I need one side only because I’m deaf in one ear. I have 400/600 to spend and I dunno what to buy. Any ideas?
Depends. Do you need BiCROS, CROS, Bone Anchored, Unilateral hearing aid, or Cochlear Implant?
Just saw your vid that Bose sponsored.
That would've weird. Especially since Bose had never sponsored one of my videos. 🤔
Good info in the video. You might want to check your lighting though. At some points your face looks sort of greenish. (which actually fits in with your comment about throwing up on yourself ;-) )
🤣
I don't trust go to dr in person l am going my dr talked about what best for me getting hear aids
nope
Are you saying this doesn't happen at an Audiologist practice??? I find it difficult to believe that's the case either. I think the prices of hearing aids are so far off the charts that many who need the device can't afford them. I fear this might be worse when Medicare helps pay.
Did you watch the video? Your comment seems out of context from the topic and content of the video. 🤔
but if you got paid by phonak(or another brand) yesterday like you said and you wanna keep having sponsored video tomorrow, how can you assure that today you don't have bias let's say doing a "best hearing aids" video?
Because my "Best Hearing Aid" videos do not rank devices at all, nor in order of which ones pay the most money. I also include brands that have never sponsored me in the "Best of" videos.
true they original and rechargeable scam
Your thumbnail of giving the blurred out finger, in my mind, takes away from your credibility, and makes you come off as bitter (sour grapes).
Good. I am bitter. I have to deal with these websites all the time that takes credibility away from the people and companies who are doing things in an ethical way. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@DrCliffAuD crude and unprofessional
@@gellerod I agrée it’s not professional
Sorta of shocking to see
Very disappointed in his thumbnail choices
@@DrCliffAuD you made a HUGE mistake with your thumbnail
You can be bitter without being CRUDE

HORRIBLE, ESA EXPREDIÓN DE TUS MANOS! 😡
Giving the finger???? You call yourself a professional? You lost me as a viewer. Very unprofessional.
