Ingenious! I've spent the last couple of hours making of list of parts I'll need to build a cart like yours. Then I found your video... I'm changing my list! THANKS.
I am a service connected disabled veteran and I love this idea. I have problems walking on the beach already since I had 3 bones removed from my left foot and had my tibial tendon shorted. My left knee is also bad. I'm going to take you idea and put on 2 axles so I can not only have a beach cart but a simi walker. Look out fish I'm coming for you!😊
😃 perfect !! I made a metal cart years ago and still use it but it's heavy when you load it. I also have a harbor freight cart for over 2 years and use when I travel. Just yesterday I went shopping for a cart and the one I wanted was almost $500. Thanks to you 😊 🙏 I'm going to make good 👍 use of my travel cart.
GREAT idea! This is exactly what I have been looking for! Got any details on construction? I have a couple HFs in the Charleson SC area, going to go get the hauler today to get started.
Holy crap dude. I actually have that harbor freight hitch cargo basket! I also have a ballon wheel folding cart. You just gave me a killer idea! Thanks so much for the video!!! Absolute genius. Will now be able to haul all my beach crap on the hitch… not in the car.

Wow. Great thinking. I already have a HF aluminum carrier. I have been agonizing about which cheap cart to buy and then I found your video. I don't need the big wheels but I would like pneumatic tires as during the winter I night fish from a long wooden dock that has a light at the end. Hard plastic on the dock makes a lot of noise. Carrying rods, chair, tackle box, net, etc was very difficult until now. GGGRRRREEEAAATTT hack. Thanks again
I have one of these I never used, it’s brand new, what a great idea, now that I’m into surf fishing this will be a great tool to use, great video,,,,,,, thanks
Awesome build! You've given me some ideas and probably saved me money to boot! I have need to carry two fishing Kayaks as well as it being convertible for pier fir fishing. Thanks!!!
Yes I really appreciate your information I have been trying to come up with a plan to DIY beach fishing cart I would have no idea to search harbor freight for carts thank you sir
Awesome, I built one out of a harbor freight car carrier, but it wasn't for a fishing cart. I use it for my Hauling business, I put wheelez on it with Diamond plate Alum on the floor and made it a flatbed carrier for moving items through the sand and grass. I like your idea , pretty cool
Hey I have the same carrier and making a beac cart also, I extended my sides from the base of cart up to 14" high and I'm putting on the 16" beach ballon wheels. I am leaving the hitch bar on so that i can trnsport from my travel trailer bumper. I like your handles that is what i am working on next. With my sides of cart higher off the ground it will be easier to transport the kayaks. Gr eat job!
Thanks!! The only plans I have are plans to catch tons of fish this year hahaha! I did make a couple more videos of the build and can try to get you any info you need as far as dimensions or anything
@@zekeshandles Yes. Likely 2 carts. Started building a “gardening” cart first. Using a 30” Harbor Freight service cart. Pulling those wheels off and putting the cart on a DIY base, and 13” beach wheels for the mobility. Then 2nd cart will be a beach cart similar to yours. Thanks again for the videos. Very helpful!
Dude this is sweet!!! I have actually been looking at variations of the Harbor Freight carrier carts and this is exactly what I was looking for. Nothing too elaborate and functional. I priced about $250 ish in parts when I was brainstorming before this video. I refuse to pay for the run of the mill carts overpriced. Thanks man!
Can't wait to try my cheap converted grocery cart plus a hundred bucks for amazon 1/2 " shaft and 12" wheels 5' wide , Put two PVC rod holders and hooks to carry table and chair. Enough room for cooler, tackle, three rod holders, and a ghost scrimp pump . "Hope it works" in the Gulf .It cost me about 145 bucks total. "Not pretty like yours , but what the hay Eh" !
I love it. So many things you can use it for and a lot cheaper than many other carts you see for just a beach cart. Think I would add a way to put a ground anchor when I'm fishing for big sharks, Hate to see it take off into the surf especially if I'm sitting on top of it! But I guess why you have a drag on the reel!

I am SOOOOOO interested!! Please make a DIY video on how you made this amazing contraption! Would you say it’s less expensive then just purchasing a Fishing Mate? I’ve seen ppl make them from PVC pipe as well. Thank you in advance! Great job!
Thanks! I think it was right around $250 to build. It was important for me to have one that would go in the hitch. I’ll try to get another video of it up shortly.
Hey thanks! I just did some trial and error haha. I do have some other videos on my channel of the build and there are a couple other RUclips channels with similar builds out there. Let me know if you need any specifics
THis is an awesome build! Exactly what I was looking to do, can you show a bit about how you built your handle, and how it fastens in and pops out and back in? your handle looks much better than most that I have seen ,and im struggling to figure out how to build the handle. I havent purchased the balloon tires yet, I bought some cheap harbor freight ones, hoping they will be sufficient for this trip to FL, but I see another comment that they are terrible.
Hey Shawn, thanks!! I will try to film some of the handle construction more closely for you, it did take me a couple tries to figure out. It is nice the handle pops out easy and I can throw in cart. Yeah the tires are pretty key, wish they were cheaper! Good luck
Thanks! If you have a bit of weight in cart (tackle gear etc) it actually digs into the sand pretty good when fish hits! But some spikes would be added security for sure!
Hey thanks! I did put a parts list in descriptions but will try to add prices next time I do a build. I believe it cost me around $250. I was able to get those (unbranded) wheels used on eBay but there are some decent options on Amazon.
Going to build this myself. Would have liked to see you roll it across soft sand. Did you like the tire size Would you have gotten a different size tires.
Awesome I can try to put up another video with a bit more build detail soon, unfortunately the beach footage was auto deleted. I do like this size and think they are likely a bit better going through rough areas like truck ruts but I’m sure the slightly smaller ones would work great too. Getting the air pressure right made a big difference, I actually went too low at first. The air pressure just needs to be adjusted for the load.
Absolute genius idea! Does not take up space in your vehicle AND carries additional gear! Love it. Can't wait to make this!
Thanks! Not my idea, just my take on it. Best of luck in your build!!
Killer job, are you going to add more info on all the parts so other interested can start building?
Came here after watching the assembly videos to try and learn where you got the wheels. Great job keeping everything concise.
