I have had to readjust their determination of z-offset after it sets it on all my prints. One was so high the print wouldn't stick. Next was so low it hit bed and couldn't print. Except for that I like this printer
this is probably going to be my second printer, but my first one is really old and kinda broken. wasnt too kind to it, but ive learned a lot and im looking forward to buying this
i recently got into 3d printing. i got an ender 3 neo last month. i have a months worth of hours into it. ive since quit my job (not enough time to print and work lmao) i was debating on getting a bambu lab p1p but honestly idk if i wanna deal with all the extra different stuff. might just get one or two of these. theyre so similar to the newest neo
So I just recently purchased a ender 3 pro on amazon And now I'm seeing this ender 3 version 3 SE everywhere, seems like a much better printer than the one I purchased and is the same price I paid, I am within the return window, I am assuming I should make the swap ? Unless there's something I am missing?
That's really going to be up to you if you want to do that. This new printer is nice and just kinda works out of the box but you can still do a lot with the printer that you have.
Neptune 3 Pro does have some more features like a filament run out sensor and a textured pi bed out of the box. They both have the same size build area if I remember correctly. If you have a little extra money like $60 you might want to get the Neptune 4 because it's a lot faster and running Klipper firmware out of the box. bit.ly/ElegooNeptune4
This has most of the same features as the S1 for $179 less MSRP. You can actually get the S1 for much less than $379, but I still think the V3 is the better value. The V3 prints faster and IMO looks better, not that the latter point is super important. I believe the main differences are that the S1 has a slightly larger screen, comes with a filament runout sensor, has knobs for the bed, and it has G sensors for a type of input shaping, plus a slightly taller print height. For some reason the S1 is advertised as being ABS capable while the V3 is not, but they have the same hot end, extruder, bed, and nozzle specs. Now if you step up the the S1 Pro, you do get the upgrade hot end, nozzle, and touch screen, but then it's $439. The S1 Plus is for larger printing and has the touch screen, but is $529. The only other advantage is that the S1 likely has more support and mods since it has been out longer. If this is your first printer or an upgrade from a very cheap printer, the V3 would be my recommendation. The price is just so good for what you get. If you could get an S1 Pro for the same money I'd say probably do that, but otherwise unless you really want the resonance compensation input shaping on the S1, go V3.
Microcenter has this and the Ender 3 S1 at basically the same price. Would I be dumb to buy the V3 SE over an S1, if it’s the same price? I’m still a beginner printer, looking to upgrade from my EP3 pro that has given me so many issues
Hey man. I would like to know how did you make the 3d printed TikTok gravity knife fit together. I tried it out on my SE but it didn't fit. Please help 😔🙏
Would it be worth spending the extra money to get a neptune 4 pro? Or is this printer worth the seamless "out-of-box" experience? I know this is def a slower printer than the Neptune, but the Neptune 4 sounds crazy loud when you push high speeds. Thoughts?
It's really going to be up to your needs and how you are using it. The Elegoo Neptune 4 is a better print for the extra money but it's also loud so if you are printing in the same room you are sleeping in that might be a big problem. I do have a video about the Neptune 4 here ruclips.net/video/wRK1XIysr2k/видео.html The Ender 3 V3 SE is a lot quieter for sure, to the point that I had to check on it a few times to make sure it was still going. It is a slower printer as well compared to the Neptune 4 but definitely a lot faster than the original ender 3.
@@randymay Yeah I noticed you had reviewed both printers so you were the perfect person to ask. Isn't there different fan modes on the neptune 4 pro, and also an on/off switch on the auxiliary fans? How does the 4 pro perform on 'mute' mode/ when the aux fans are off? I just wanna know if the neptune 4 pro can print around the 3v3SE speed on quiet mode, since I wanna be able to print fast during the day, and hopefully have it on a slower mute mode during the night.
@@randymay Yeah i noticed that you had both printers so you were the perfect person to ask. I'm just curious about what speed levels you can achieve with the Neptune 4 pro when it's in mute mode (I believe there are 3 fan modes right?). Or when you turn the switch on the auxiliary fans off. Is it comparable to the 3v3SE? I mainly want the option the run the Neptune at max speed during the day, and then a slower & quieter mode at night. Thoughts?
You can really quiet the Neptune 4 if you slow down the print speed a little and turn off the rear fans. It still isn't going to whisper quite like the Ender3 V3 SE but I think it would be quiet enough
Hi I bought that, exactly because this video but I am having a problem with print ahe doesn't understand the sd card and I can't print even the one that comes with her. If you see this comment please help me 😢
It's very quiet especially compared to the other printers I have been using. I had to check on it a few times to make sure it was still running before I didn't hear anything haha
Are you using cura to slice ? I just got my printer yesterday and I haven't sliced anything for it yet I wanna try now but my cure doesn't have a profile for it. I was just gonna use my normal ender 3 profile but do I set the mm's higher and like how high ?
@@Trashalchemy Thanks for the question and the answer. I like Cura and would rather use it but, like @nehohoess indicated, there's no profile for the V3 SE printer. And I really don't want to take the time right now to fiddle with all the settings.
No, after about 10 prints the PC bed is great, sticks well and is easy to crack off. Only these youtube videos where they've printed twice is this an issue. Don't was your time or money. Heat the bed up to 60 and use your nail to pry it off a few times and it isn't a problem at all.
You really can use whatever works for you but I really dislike printing on PC. There is always a point where something sticks too well to it and leaves material behind or it ends up ripping over time. Smooth or textured PEI works a lot better and I have never had to replace one in like the PC sheets.
They work out of the box and then they slowly start to fail eventually printing nothing but string. I am on my 5th V3and they all go the same way. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. all you are doing is BETA testing for them and paying them to do so.
Honestly that sounds more like a user error problem if you have gone through 5 of them like this. These are very simple printers but you do still need to know what you are doing to use them. You will need to make sure the bed is clean and you are slicing your files the right way for the printer. Also you might need to manually adjust the Z offset.

Why would it? It's just pressing on the bed to trigger the strain sensor.
