@@hommegilet1977 Nah, I know it's a meme to call them weird graphics but to me they aren't, since I was there since day one when home consoles we're only capable of 2D sprites, finally getting full 3D graphics at home was revolutionary and these graphics back in 94/95 were top modern next gen so they never seemed like that to me. Now yes of course they have aged poorly due to 3D being in it's infancy back then, however the art style of Tekken 1 and 2 is now very throwback nostalgic Vaporware esque aesthetic.
@@aegisreflector1239 sorry for being ambiguous, I was a teenager when I first played this one at the arcade in 1995, and the graphics were obviously ground breaking and unmatched, what I meant by nightmarish was the character animation screen (together with its music) that disturbed me at the time, something that somehow disapeared with tekken 2 trying to be more pleasant.
I was 15 when I first played Tekken on the PS1, there was nothing like it, we as a generation went from playing nintendo to arcade games in our homes, it was insane.
I wasn't a PlayStation owner at the time, or into jungle/dnb. I've been getting into that music and was looking for PlayStation examples in the later Tekken and Ridge Racer games. Only just realising the prime examples are in the earliest titles. No wonder Tekken was seen as much cooler than Virtua Fighter. I love Takenobou Mitsoyoshi (VF, Daytona, Sega Rally) but his music didn't really pay much attention to contemporary styles

Take a moment to aprreciate Paul's hairline in this cover art guys
At its highest it's an inch above where human skulls usual end
I'm laughing out loud at this - yeh, hell of a hairline!
Damn.
It looks like a chopped tree 🤣

there are plenty of ps1 mods for tekken 7...
@@maximilianoalcaraz7351 I think he means the high poly models shown on the covers
I would prefer they do like they did with Soul Calibur and do a reboot based on the first 3 games. I think it could be amazing if done correctly.
The PS1 disc would play as a CD in my boombox. Thought of that and now I am here.
