So you´re telling me that for 2 years I avoided this "Build the roster" videos because I taught that they were no edit no script podcast-like videos but they are actually very well edited and written videos with cool and interesting ideas that make sense and are also entertaining as actual fan wishlists?!
Word of advice: If your'e gonna watch his Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 Video, watch BOTH Part 1 AND 2 before giving your judgment...I...made that mistake before...After watching BOTH parts, even though I still think it could use a few fixes, I realized it’s actually AWESOMELY well thought that I'd play it :D
I mean should give a look before judging, but that's actually very fair, I've been looking all over RUclips for something half as good as this. Also this is nothing. In the MvC and SNKvC videos he goes into all kinds of details about story content and gameplay mechanics. Then there's the sega smash video.
The best way to describe the difference between Fei Long and Marshall Law is that Marshall Law is like a character Bruce Lee would play whereas Fei Long is just Bruce Lee.
Zangief being rival to King makes even more sense when Zangief wants to be an inspiration for all Russia, whilst King wants to give children a better life by raising money. Both have motives to the betterment of some community. Boom
True. But another aspect of King 2's character that was revealed in Tekken 7 is him realizing that he's getting older and that while he loves Lucha Libre especially since it was set him on the straight and narrow when he was young that it will soon come time for him to pass the mask on to a new King and so he's also raising money to start a Indie Pro Wrestling Promotion in the US so he can help train the next generation of Professional Wrestlers.
We’ve seen throughout the series that Zangief trains by wrestling with grizzly bears. If only Tekken had a major character who was a grizzly bear (they do)
Suggestion: since Julia is not just an influencer but an influencer fighting for the environment, would G make a good rival for her? Since he also strives for attention and was on one of Rashid’s streams, and his whole thing is fighting for the Earth
One of my favorite/interesting examples of Japan taking voice actors deaths very seriously is Persona 5 See, the voice actor of Igor had past away part way through the development of the game, but because Igor is a very important character not only for that specific game but also the franchise, they couldn’t just get rid of him So, they made an imposter Igor being the one you see for most of the game, but around the end point you would meet the real Igor once again. I just think that so cool to put that there
said VA dying is also why the Persona 4 anime, either Golden or both versions it's been a while so I forget if Igor talked much in vanilla's anime, mostly had Margaret do the talking in the Velvet Room.
I don't know if this idea might be out of your wheelhouse, but I'd absolutely love to see a Build the Roster video for a hypothetical Cartoon Network Vs Nickelodeon platform fighter. Both networks have had a platform fighter to their name in both Punch Time Explosion and All-Star Brawl respectively. The former was commended for its amount of content but criticised for having poor gameplay, while the latter was commended for its good gameplay but criticised for its lack of content. Both games are on opposite ends of the spectrum, and could easily benefit from merging the positives from one with the other. Plus, there's a ton of underrated Nicktoons and CN originals that didn't make it in either entry that I feel would work great as fighters.
Great! This is where I dreamed since I was a kid. Yeah let's make it happen like Ben Tennyson vs Danny Phantom, or Spongebob vs Bugs Bunny or Gumball, or even Jimmy vs Dexter. That could be awesome if it that happen for Nickelodeon vs CN crossover fighting game
That would be neat, but honestly I think it would be funnier to do a tag fighter instead, because it's never been done before and both companies already have platform fighters (CN will actually have two if we count Multiversus). The idea of building a team of cartoon characters just sounds like a lot of fun and prime for fan service
Man I loved Rufus. Gameplay wise he was good, but he was a fat ugly dude with a hot girlfriend obsessed with being the best American fighter. I think people wanted too serious of a character.
Paul and Dan is a perfect match up for a rivalry, cause not only both a comic relief fighters with bad luck but this give us a bizzaro version of Ryu vs Ken.
Honestly? I can see them making Akira a member of the Kazama family and her being like "How come I've never heard of cousin Jin?" And her brother being like "We don't talk about that side of the family for a reason."
What can I say? This was a topic where you couldn't do worse than Capcom had done for real. Also, congrats on making it to two full years, Thorgi! This has been amazing every step of the way. I hope that at some point you take a stab at the "forgotten" crossover that Arc System wanted to do: "Guilty Gear X Darkstalkers".
Still sad it never happened that crossover would have revitalized the Darkstalkers more than the resurrection thing that Ono pushed and Inafune refused
@@Doralga Daisuke Ishiwatari REALLY wanted to do it. He'd even prepped a few items for it. A Trio of Concept art posters and even an idle standing animation of Morrigian in Guilty Gear's style. Trying to find that stuff now is a pain in the arse. I do remember the main art was Morrigan Vs. Slayn at his castle.
18:15 I don't know how you didn't mention both Leo and Akira use Bajiquan for their martial arts. That would be an interesting point of comparison and rivalry.
@@rockmenx8xx411 It is confirmed that final fight and street fighters happen in the same universe. On multiple occasions, final fight characters have been part of street fighter games, notably super street fighter 4. Therefore, it would not be impossible to see Cody or Guy in such a roster
@@athonsmoker5437 I know. But none of the events of either of those games have any impact on each other. So, they may as well be set in different universes. It's kinda like saying that Terry is a KOF character.
@@rockmenx8xx411 Guy was in Street Fighter IV and Cody was in Street Fighter IV and V, and I'm not even talking about the enemy characters from Final Fight. They are Street Fighter characters as much as any other
@@jacobjogagu4571 I know that they are in there. But the games that they came from were called "Final Fight" which had way different game play from Street Fighter. And neither of the events from their games have any effects on each other at all. So, the may as well come from separate universes.
Yeah, i would have been the one to point out Heihachi's seiyuu dying for sure. However, let me point out this is actually the second time Heihachi has been recast because his previous voice actor passes away, so there is a history of it happening before as well.
Going a layer deeper, Heihachi in the first game used the same voice files as jack. Apparently, all PS1 games had a different voice actor. The dude has the recast gene.
as a brazilian there other aspect of the Eddie and Laura rivalry: he fights capoeira and she a variant of Brazilian jiu jitsu. Both styles kinda represent "the brazilian martial art", so makes sense to fight to see who win
i really loved those vita stories & would love that in tekken x street fighter fleshed out more as outside not having an ending/having similar problem i had with marvel vs. capcom(especially ultimate mvc3.) that i wish they had done a full story mode of interactions having fun with it they were rather enjoyable. also for jaycee think it'd be way better just having it be julia's mother michelle taking the moniker as she looked good in it & be hilariously cool seeing her fully go all out with it.
The amount of work that goes into these, it’s absolutely insane I don’t even know how you got me to watch this video! I knew about 10 of the characters in this video but you’re humor and just the amount of work gets me hooked every time, these videos are wonderful!
I'm glad to see this series back again, it certainly was a long time. However if I could add two guest characters (one from Bandai Namco and one from Capcom) I would go with Wargreymon (Digimon) and Mega Man.EXE (Mega Man Battle Network) I went with this rivalry because they come from some form of cyberspace but also these two are no strangers to fighting games (multiple Digimon fighting games and Onimusha Blade Warriors respectively) plus with Digimon Survive on the horizon and Mega Man Battle Network being promoted in mobile games and merchandise; I say these two are the perfect guest. With Wargreymon's different skills from the various Digimon and EXE's battle chips you can create amazing movesets for them.
Yes, just yes. Also Tai and Lan would probably be great friends and I can see them playing their rivalry off as a friendly duel. Lan and MegaMan perhaps coming from the future because of time and space shenanigans (which is also how EXE is in the real world when he would need either a modified CopyBot or a dimensional area to do so. Perhaps that's the in-universe for why these two, who normally fight threats on a scale far beyond the Street Fighter and Tekken cast normally fight, are fighting as they would be. The two are weakened in the physical world because of the events of the big bad. Though EXE can't use his other forms, Agumon is only able to match the other fighters with his Wargreymon form. Heck for a small bit of fun you could imply Digimon are basically as the prototype that would lead to creation of NetNavis and revolution of the net in 20XX. Also I can see jokes from some of the Tekken cast about Agumon's resemblance to Gon, who was a guest character in Tekken 3. Plus considering he's one of the most iconic antagonists in the series Bass.EXE also kinda has to be here, he's pretty much the Akuma to MegaMan's Ryu. Also his dark powers and personality would definitely bounce off the Street Fighter and Tekken cast quite well. And his rival I would say has to be BlackWarGreymon, both are literally created to fight each other and the rivalry both could have would be entertaining. I've also heard Beelzemon is a good pick but I think BlackWarGreymon is more likely because... I mean he's the rival of WarGreymon.
Want something more bizarre? Why not have Touma Amagase to team-up with Dante? A Boy Band Member teaming up with Capcom's crazier, nuttier and stronger John Constantine in Red and Black is somehow a strange, but interesting mix-up. I picture the former being like a Bruce Lee Clone of sorts, as I've depicted him to be a Bruce Lee-ish Fighter when I made him in Soul Calibur.
This was a really good, intriguing video. The character roster alone I'm sure was a tough part to bring together. Really love this series man. And congrats on the two-year anniversary of this series. I said this on Triple KO's Street Fighter x Tekken episode, where if Capcom and Namco decide to get together and remake that game; here's what they should do: -Have the option to play 1v1, or 2v2 (the latter remans as part of arcade mode/character team story mode) -NO GEMS! -Include chip damage (I don't know if the 2013 patch included this) -When cross arts are performed, freeze the timer until the cross art is complete -No on disc DLC -Leave out pandora mode, unless it's a boss challenge mode -Leave out that Guilty Gear Isuka style mode where all 4 players are in the game -Include more language options -Better character endings -More customization options; not just colors -More music (include old classics and remixes of character themes) I also made my own character roster for this remake (it was TOUGH). 19 For the base roster, 12 for DLC, and 4 special guests for both sides: Street Fighter: (Base roster) Ryu & Ken, Chun Li & Cammy, Balrog & Vega, M. Bison & F.A.N.G, R. Mika & Zangief, Sakura & Karin, Dee Jay & Elena, Blanka & Dan, Birdie & Rufus. (Boss) Gill. (DLC) Sagat & T. Hawk, E. Honda & Hakan, C. Viper & Juri, Rose & Menat, Guy & Maki, Poison & Rashid. (Special guests) Mega Man (the real one), Soki, Morrigan, & Frank West. Tekken: (Base roster) Kazuya & Anna, Xiaoyu & Arisa, Paul & Marshall Law, Jin & Nina, Jaycee & Steve, Asuka & Lili, Chloe & Christie. Alex & Roger, King (II) & Marduk. (Boss) Unknown. (DLC) Fakumram & Michelle, Ganryu & Bruce, Heihachi & Kuma, Zafina & Eliza, Yoshimitsu & M. Raven, Tiger & Bob. (Special guests) Pac Man (without the Mokujin mech), Taki, Ivy, & Gon.
@@rockmenx8xx411 That would make sense, but who would Ganryu team with? I'd thought of Mokujin, but Bruce was a hired bodyguard along side Ganryu in Tekken 2. Anna was also a bodyguard of Kazuya in that game, and would proceed to be his personal aide/assistant in Tekken 6. Like I said, the picking of the characters for the SFXT remake was tough.
@@landonhulett2119 Bruce still worked for Kazuya in Tekken 6, too. I guess Anna could team up with Ganryu. Because if Kazuya's team would still face off against Ken and Ryu, I thought it would just look cooler seeing 2 guys fighting against 2 guy instead of seeing 2 guys fighting against a guy and a girl.
@@rockmenx8xx411 Highly doubt Anna would want to tangle with Hakan given that he oils up in fights. Plus I don't think Anna looks highly to Ganryu. Originally I was going to keep Kazuya and Nina together again, but given the events in Tekken 2; this pairing don't make sense. You're not wrong in that Ryu & Ken fighting Kazuya & Bruce would be more logical, Ken fighting a sassy, flirtatious woman in a heated battle is a more interesting outlook.
The crossover like half of the people forgot was meant to happen, but still a worthy one to celebrate 2 years of the show. Also pls let Ryu be in the game.
Love your videos Thorgi, this was another great one! I was kind of expecting Lee vs Vega, Anna Williams vs Poison, Kunimitsu vs Ibuki and Dragunov vs Guile, but I totally get that there are so many to chose from. My only other changes: I think Makoto could be a good rival for Xiaoyu. And although it probably would never happen - instead of Jaycee, they could build on Michelle's tag 2 ending and have her enter in the wrestling get up - a new take on a throwback character for long term fans and an interesting rival dynamic of a slightly older woman who is fierce fighter but new to wrestling vs R.Mika, a young breakout wrestling star.
First 5 characters be like: Its the guy from netflix its the guy from fortnite Its the guy from smash bros Its the guy from capcom fighting evolution Its the guy from playstation all stars
I'm glad you put Fei Long in the game. He was sorely missed in SF5. I'm someone who loves Bruce Lee homages and Jeet Kune do fighters in fighting games. Marshall Law vs Fei long is a dream match for me that SFXT did not fulfill.
Outstanding video bro thank you for creating this amazing show. Keep being a man of gold. Also here are some honorable mentions: Lida vs Nash. And Lars vs Ed.
Honestly if Seth did make it in, I feel like they could do what you said with missed Tekken characters, I feel like it would also be more hilarious if they referenced other Namco related fighting games like Soul Calibur and such. Heck because they own the rights to a lot of anime fighters, Seth could still have his JoJo references, maybe even take it up a notch with a few more, but mixed few a new nods to other Shonen Jump anime such as Naruto, Bleach... And yes, Dragon Ball Z. I don't know what to say, this would be freaking hilarious and I want Seth in the game for this reason alone.
Congrats on two years, always enjoyed seeing the creative roster ideas and the level of detail you put into coming up with reasons they'd be great choices. For DLC characters ideas: - Josie Rizal and Dee Jay, wanted to give Josie some love and had difficulties picking a rival, but picked Dee Jay since he's also a kickboxer but also thinking of the interactions, like Dee Jay seeing potential in her and give her more confidence. - Roger Jr. and Mike Haggar, wanted to give Final Fight some rep (well a little more rep) and also have a wild choice, so chose Mike since he hasn't appeared as a playable character in Street Fighter proper, so like Poison, he returns to the ring although his moves will be tweaked to deviate from Zangief's moves, while Roger Jr fights how he does normally. The story can be simple, Roger wanting a match against Haggar to see if he's still got it. - Eliza and Menat, another out there cause cause it basically is, I can see these two having some hilarious interactions like Menat sensing her as a potential threat in the future, but gets annoyed at Eliza's narcolepsy. - Ivy and Morrigan, did wonder if they did feature guest character like SFxT, I would pick characters that I felt worked better in this setting, was not easy but went with these two as they are both purple clad fighters from Europe and also seeing these two interact would be fun with their clashing personalities. Plus imagining Ivy wonder how Yoshimitsu is here and Morrigan wanting to fight Eliza since she reminds her of someone she knows. For Roster suggestions: - A Smash Bros with Microsoft characters (maybe call it X-Brawlers or something) - A Danganronpa fighting game (though for a challenge, maybe come up with an in story explanation for why characters that should be dead are around and figure out their finishers/executions) - A Godzilla fighting game similar to the Atari trilogy (Destroy all Monsters Melee, Save The Earth and Unleashed) - A Transformers Fighting game with various characters from many timelines and universe - A Marvel vs DC crossover (if the NetherRealms's Marvel game rumor is anything to go by, could also be an idea if the rumor goes nowhere ) - A Resident Evil Fighting game for Halloween perhaps? Could be neat seeing the iconic characters and monsters get some ideas - an Avatar fighting game (with a challenge of having the Last Airbender cast interacting with the Legend of Korra cast through a story) - Legend of Zelda Fighter, the series has a lot of characters to choose from. - A Disney Smash Bros, with Nick and CN having done one (the latter could have a sequel roster idea but then again there is that WB game I nearly forgot about), they'd be the next step as they have a variety of well known and obscure movies/shows to choose from - A Sailor Moon Fighterz game, you’d think a well known series like this would have a lot of games but it’s only had a few and only the heroes were playable. I think if Arcsys did make this, they can add some more characters like some villains to spice up the game idea
Nearly perfect, the only change I’d make is adding a single guest character from both company like the other game did. If they wanted to go the classic arcade route they did for Street Fighter X Tekken, I’d say Arthur and Dig Dug, but if they wanted to stick with fighting games, I’d say Morrigan and Nightmare.
Or maybe use the Sword fighter from Darkstalkers 2(can't remember his name) against Nightmare/Siegfried. Both are Heroic greatsword fighters who are slowly corrupted over the course of their games, eventually becoming an evil monster. Both are faces for the franchise, etc.
Been watching this channel since the MvC4 video and I’ve been enjoying your fighting game retrospectives. Keep up the good work. I would love to see your take on a SEGA vs Capcom fantasy roster
Congratz for your 2 years ! I discovered your channel for the Guilty Gear VS Blazeblue build your roster and now it's a classic for me (I still dreaming about this game) ! I really like your content so I wish you the best for 2 years and more and keep make us dreaming about fighting game roster ! I hope you will do something like this for Project L. It will be cool to compare what you suggest and what they finally planned for this game
Message to Thorgi! I've been craving BTR every month. I never watch videos over an hour that aren't movies, and these have me addicted. Keep them coming!
Imagine Lars vs Cody. Both have heroic personalities with strong senses of justice. The difference being Lars is more super hero type justice, and Cody is more into crime related justice.
I was actually thinking more along the lines of Lars and Guile since they're both military commanders. Maybe even Lars and Cammy since they were both former members of the villain military force that defected.
I can not believe I was literally thinking "Seth's gotta be next" for like a whole hour. It was well worth the wait though, you love to see the king stealing King's moves.
congratulations on your 2 year anniversary thorgi and love your build the roster/videos about capcom & fighting games in general and you did a great roster. :3 my picks for a dlc team would be anna williams/poison(love to see them interact.),hugo/jack & elena/christie.
You did an excellent job of explaining things. I know nothing of Tekken but the way you described it made a lot of the matchups make sense Also, I was waiting the whole video for the Kuma/Blanka pairing. It's so perfect, I'm surprised it wasn't in the first DLC pack
Congratulations on your second anniversary. This BTR video was a blast. As for a future one, what about a Capcom-helmed Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars? A mix between the original and the recent one. Perhaps have a rival system so that we have a hero vs villain set up. Bring in the classics and the new faces. Hell, find a way to throw in the likes of Howard the Duck and Squirrel Girl.
Im so glad you included Eddy Gordo in this game and also laura, i live in brazil myself and when someone who doesn't know what's Tekken asks you what it is you can just say "That game that has Eddy Gordo in it" and they will get it
18:46 Well, considering his previous actor Daisuke Gori (3-6, Jimbe (One Piece), Hercule Satan (Dragon Ball, whom Ishizuka also took over), and Shabranigdo (Slayers) passed away, it wouldn't be suprising that they would replace Ishizuka, ironically Heihachi's previous actors Banjo Ginga (1, Souther (Fist of the North Star), Liquid Snake, Major Zero, and Liquid Ocelot (Metal Gear), Thanos (MCU), and Issac Netero's 2nd voice (Hunter x Hunter) and Wataru Takagi (2, Okayasu Nijimura (Jojo), Kaiman (Dorohedoro), and Joker (Batman Ninja) are still alive.
Although I do disagree with some of the choices, I thought this was a great video. And for some future BTR I would like to see: - An updated MVC4 roster. With 2 years having gone by, Marvel has been releasing a TON of new content that is bringing in new fans like Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, and Falcon, along with Capcom with RE8 and upcoming SF6. Maybe not a video, but perhaps just an image of your updated picks with some characters being cuts. - Super Robot Wars: This is gonna be some HEAVY work with how many shows and movies you’ll have to watch, but a fighting game that puts Gundam, Evangelion, Macross, Gunbuster, etc, would be hella fun to see. - SoulsBorne Giant Boss Fight Arena: A Godzilla arena like fighting game but uses giant monsters from Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Demon Souls, and Sekiro, would be interesting to see.
Christ, I can't believe it's already been a year since the CVS3 video. Time flies when you're having fun I guess. Anyway, love your vids man. Keep 'em up!
Finally some Tekken x Street Fighter content in the community! We appreciate you Thorgi! My kind of video. I'm actually working on a video to showcase how the Street Fighters would play in Tekken based off of how Akuma was implemented so this motivates me to finish it up 🔥
Funnily enough, without wishing to spoil Tekken 8's story: Jin and Ryu would actually be a great pairing considering where their stories have currently left them.
Man, this is a fun one. I remember during the pre-release of SF X Tekken I was mostly against the obvious like “Oh E Honda vs Ganryu” and tried to think beyond that. Like Paul vs Zangief. Russian Muscle Power vs the self proclaimed Toughest in the Universe. Like Zangief would scoff at this claim, and Paul, ever the hot head, says that the only thing that’s ever beaten him was a bear. Zangief laughs at this as he wrestles bears as part of his training regiment. Paul rushes in to prove his toughness. Regardless of who wins, they earn each other’s respect. Much like your pitch for Ken vs Hworang, I always saw Sagar try and talk the young Korean hothead out of his obsession in his rivalry. SF x Tekken also missed out on team ups by limiting them to their series. A team-up of Chun Li and Lei, she sees him as a goofball only to see just how seriously he really does take his job. Rufus vs Bob? Boring! Rufus vs Paul, however, him going “Ken Masters! You think growing a beard and getting a stupid haircut’s gonna fool me!?”
A very solid list. Just one minor suggestion: I'd like to add one character to balance out Jinpachi's place as the base roster's sole final boss: Ingrid, the original character featured in "Capcom Fighting Evolution" after her initial game was cancelled, as well as the creator of the Pandora Box from "Street Fighter X Tekken" (according to the tie-in comic for that game). Those annoyed by the Pandora system now has a name and face to direct their ire and what few fans she has from CFE and/or SFA3 now have another chance to play this anomaly of a character once more.
I mean, Ingrid does have her fans in the States (albeit not very many). I'm guilty of being one of them. XD Also, #IngridForSF6 - get it trending, folks.
Definitely an awesome video and great ideas and matchups! Literally the only one I wanted to see included would be my SFV main E. Honda, but then that would mean including Ganryu, so I...uh...think you made all the right choices 😂😂😭😭(Though shoutouts to all the Ganryu mains - fun character, just...personality-wise...well...)
At the beginning, I made a list of essential characters that HAD to be on the roster. By the end of the second DLC wave, the only ones you missed were Lars and Dhalsim. Really think they need to be here. But other than that, pretty solid roster. So glad Jinpachi is present.
Something I thought of that could be fun: You can pull characters from any fighting game not from a pre-established franchise, but only one character per country
The beginning of this pairing makes sense and then things go wayyyy off the rails once Leroy starts. Lots of weird choices but the tekken side is solid
Absolutely amazing work. I love these videos. One roster I hope you build someday would be "Shonen Jump vs. Capcom". Matchups like Goku vs. Ryu, Naruto vs. Strider, Ichigo vs. Dante, Monkey D. Luffy vs. Edward Falcon etc. I'd say 26 characters on each side since MvC2 and UMvC3 had rosters around that size.
I've been requesting that for a while. And one of my preferred friendly rivalries in the storyline is Ingrid and Beerus mostly because it'd be fun to see Beerus actually figure out that Ingrid despite looking like a sexy 16 year old high-school girl is actually the Capcom Universe's "God of Destruction" due to the fact she actually equals him in power, is way more intelligent then what her appearance of sexy 16 year old high-school girl would have you believe, actually has a grasp on the multiversal threat, and a good idea on what's causing it, and just like him she's only showing up and getting involved now since this a massive multiversal threat endangering two universes.
While there are some exemptions that some fans may feel the need to point out, I found these selections both fair and exciting. I absolutely loved this, so much so that I’m still holding onto hope that this game will actually be produced. 🙏🏽
You know if the fans acted right I’d feel more confident but in 2019 Harada said he’d like to do TxSF but he needed to find a good time to release it. He could release it next but people are being weird and want T8 I guess. I’m for Tekken x Street Fighter
Awesome vid Thorgi well done. Man I hope we get this game soon as it has so much potential sigh one can only hope and we need our Law vs Feilong dream match damn it!! Looll
I unironically want Ingrid in the game, maybe even as a secret character. Like, she was supposed to debut in a modest 3D crossover fighter and somehow ended up as a GODLIKE CHARACTER THAT CANONICALLY MADE THE PANDORA BOXES, WHICH PROMPTLY STARTED THE EVENTS OF STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN. How could you not add her?!
But here's the thing.....the hate for her is completely UNNATURAL and NONSENSICAL! This character is only playable in two fighting games they NOBODY really(especially that very specific port of Alpha 3 Max) There's generally no ACTUAL reason she is really hated, it's just poeple being nonsensical and/or simply riding this question mark of a bandwagon. If she were actually a playable again(say in SF6) and poeple might actually have an ACTUAL opinion on her instead of just hating for literally NO REASON due to have never actually played as/against her before. She'd probably have a much better reception to at least a mixed one.
@@Wallie33. Hardly anyone played the game where Ingrid was portrayed as being stronger than Dante and Vergil. Ingird would not only piss off SF fans but also other Capcom fans. She's a mary-sue in a school girl uniform.
@@blackout1524 Damn sorry I don’t know much about her character besides like her personality and stuff from that game cause I did played. But nonetheless I still mentioned cause even if an unpopular game or not is still interesting that it technically speaking kind of happened still.
Holy crap what a great video, the idea for rivals was just perfectly made, i LOVE it, even the ones mentioned at the end were perfect, i mean Dragunov and Guile??? Perfect, Lee and Vega???? AMAZING!!!
with the on disc DLC, gems, pay to win gems ect. I completely agree. however I found sfxt strangely charming. the cut scene budget, music and some of the final roster characters are great imo. but it was shit at launch and didn't have staying power. although ppl still do play it today.
I appreciated the info about heihachi, I had no idea and it was super interesting a lot more interesting that just being like "yeah, its heihachi, let's move on"
Excellent roster list! I like how you took some chances with some, and made others super obvious. Keep up the good work I would totally buy this game BTW
I don't know why I have this feeling that if Tekken X Street Fighter happened, Bandai Namco might make it canon to Tekken. That would be crazy. Now you just need to make a "Build The Roster" for Tekken X Virtua Fighter! Now that's a crossover that's been long overdue. Maybe Tekken X The King of Fighters too.....
@@marplatense31 that would be pretty pretty cool to be fair. I’d love to see Blue Mary be incorporated into Tekken’s gameplay. Gato vs Feng would also be cool to see.
@@marplatense31 yeah many of the KOF characters would work well in Tekken in a unique way. VF and DOA are actually pretty similar as far as character tropes and play styles go being there all 3D games, so a bit too similar but I wouldn’t mind lol
Okay, crazy idea: “Capcom vs. Capcom” What do I mean by that? I’m glad you asked. The whole gimmick of the game is that each character has a rival…but all the rivals are mixed and matched. No two rivals are from the same franchise. So instead, we’d have rivalries like… Asura vs. Akuma Zero vs. Strider Hiryu Juri vs. Morrigan Leon Kennedy vs. Frank West Bionic Commando vs. Cpt. Commando I could keep going, but I want to hear more people’s suggestions.
Not gonna lie, i would love to see Poison and Anna team/match up. Something about their personalities makes them a perfect fit, but i can't pick my finger on it...
@@Silverwind87 in my head, it goes... In place of Fatalities, Super Arts become Brutality Arts (x-rays). Super Arts done towards the end of the match become Fatal Arts. (almost similar to Injustice)
interesting thing about Jin and Ryu is that the original SFxT Trailers implied Jin and Ryu actually knew each other like how they do in Namco X Capcom and Project X Zone
Awesome video as per usual, man. So just a couple things I'm down with the Leroy vs. Alex matchup, but a big part of me really wants to see Leroy vs Gen. Also I would love to fit Claudio and Lars in the roster, but I don't know who I'd put them against. Those two fit more of the KOF kinda mold.
yeah really needed to put lars in the video he's now a main character because he's a mishima. if lars was here i think charlie nash is the best fits for him as arival. i forgot about claudio and yeah he's kinda important in tekken 7 story, i think rose can be better fits as his rival than seeing zafina vs rose.
@@shenelljohnson74 Leroy vs Gen have plenty in comparison. Both old masters Both use traditional styles and even wear similar clothing Both rely heavily on their stances And if that isn't enough, Leroy is pretty much Wang's replacement anyway
@@Atomic-Punk I mean as in goals or fashion I feel like Leroy a threat MORE than gen sense he fought off a war gang in new York non stop to the point they call him a demon and sense he defeated law, lei and Feng wei that destroy a mountain, gen isn't in SF5 why NOT use a character that's not in the series vs a character isn't a series instead of a character that's popular than him in the series lol
@@shenelljohnson74 Because this is all hypothetical and based on good match ups. And Gen fought to a draw with Akuma. So there's a strong argument that Leroy would lose that fight
Honestly id love to see a part two i was surprised that marduk didn't make this list because his also a big time grappler type..Man plz do a part two!!🔥🔥👍🔥🔥
Reporting in from a year in the future to say: Luke vs Bob actually makes more sense now, since you have Public Servant Becomes World Traveling MMA Fighter To Find Himself (with some PMC coaching work on the side) vs World Traveling MMA Fighter Becomes Public Servant To Find Himself. Maybe have their endings mirror each other where Luke convinces Bob to sign up for said PMC or Bob convinces Luke to... well... adopt the SPEED AND WEIGHT mindset.
So you´re telling me that for 2 years I avoided this "Build the roster" videos because I taught that they were no edit no script podcast-like videos but they are actually very well edited and written videos with cool and interesting ideas that make sense and are also entertaining as actual fan wishlists?!
Probably should have tried them out first, man…
Word of advice: If your'e gonna watch his Marvel Vs.
Yes, that's exactly what we're telling you, now have fun binging!
@@KitCloud1 I mean MvC4 was kinda exception since that was first video.
The best way to describe the difference between Fei Long and Marshall Law is that Marshall Law is like a character Bruce Lee would play whereas Fei Long is just Bruce Lee.
I wouldn't say that Fei Long is Bruce Lee.
After all, Bruce & Brandon Lee did exist in the Street Fighter universe.
@@glacierwolf2155 Fei Long is Bruce Lee's evil clone then
Zangief being rival to King makes even more sense when Zangief wants to be an inspiration for all Russia, whilst King wants to give children a better life by raising money.
If only Tekken had a major character who was a grizzly bear (they do)
@FakeDavyCrockett Zangief doesn't wrestle grizzlies, he deals with MUCH larger ursines than that in Russia: Ussuri Brown Bears.
Thorgi: “Heihachi died at the end of Tekken 7.”
Harada at Evo 2024: “…About that.”
I love how you got thru the entire Akira / Leo bit without acknowledging that the two have the exact same fighting style.
Suggestion: since Julia is not just an influencer but an influencer fighting for the environment, would G make a good rival for her? Since he also strives for attention and was on one of Rashid’s streams, and his whole thing is fighting for the Earth
One of my favorite/interesting examples of Japan taking voice actors deaths very seriously is Persona 5
See, the voice actor of Igor had past away part way through the development of the game, but because Igor is a very important character not only for that specific game but also the franchise, they couldn’t just get rid of him
So, they made an imposter Igor being the one you see for most of the game, but around the end point you would meet the real Igor once again.
Yeah, like Jenny wakeman (a.k.a. x-j9), el tigre, vlad plasmas, timmy turner, and jimmy neutron. And that's just for the Nickelodeon side.
I've tweeted this at him when NAS came out, so i hope ur comment gets upvoted to the sky XD
Yes! I want this so much
I was a little worried you’d put Rufus on the roster when we got to Bob and that’s how I said “Oh thank God, it’s Luke” for the first time
Man I loved Rufus.
It’s perfect
But Paul is actually strong
Paul may be an idiot but that deathfist has its name for a reason
Honestly? I can see them making Akira a member of the Kazama family and her being like "How come I've never heard of cousin Jin?" And her brother being like "We don't talk about that side of the family for a reason."
"Trust me, we don't want to associate with war criminals." - Daigo Kazama.
"You don't wanna get involed. They're so crazy."
"Crazier than _our_ school? That's a terrifying thought."

actually Poison became a _very first time_ playable in a game called *Final Fight Revenge*
In fairness, it was a Japan-only Saturn game, so not many Westerners are aware of it
What can I say?

I would love to see a mashup between Miguel and Cody, since they're both actual street fighters in their respective franchises
But isn't Cody a from Final Fight? I thought that the game was supposed to be about Tekken characters fighting against Street Fighter characters.

Lmao I just commented on this. Oh well
as a brazilian there other aspect of the Eddie and Laura rivalry: he fights capoeira and she a variant of Brazilian jiu jitsu.
Both styles kinda represent "the brazilian martial art", so makes sense to fight to see who win
SFxT actually had Lei and Chun-Li know each other in the Vita trailers. It was one of the cooler things the game did with its story.
i really loved those vita stories & would love that in tekken x street fighter fleshed out more as outside not having an ending/having similar problem i had with marvel vs. capcom(especially ultimate mvc3.) that i wish they had done a full story mode of interactions having fun with it they were rather enjoyable.
also for jaycee think it'd be way better just having it be julia's mother michelle taking the moniker as she looked good in it & be hilariously cool seeing her fully go all out with it.
It's been a long wait, but I'm glad to see this series back.
Dan as Paul's rival was an inspired choice 🤌
True…but I miss serious badass Paul.
I love your work! I cant wait to see the third part of the KOF retrospective! And has a submit of this serie, would be cool to see BBTAG 2!
Ok, but now I REALLY need a Digimon vs Megaman fighting game
If they were to do guest characters it would most likely be Morrigan and a Soul Calibur Character 💀
Why not Gatchmon vs MegaMan.EXE? Both Digimon Universe: Appmon & Battle Network obviously involve cyberspaces, viruses & AIs.
Discovered this channel recently, it's a gold mine
Yes it is
This was a really good, intriguing video. The character roster alone I'm sure was a tough part to bring together. Really love this series man. And congrats on the two-year anniversary of this series.
I said this on Triple KO's Street Fighter x Tekken episode, where if Capcom and Namco decide to get together and remake that game; here's what they should do:
-Have the option to play 1v1, or 2v2 (the latter remans as part of arcade mode/character team story mode)
-NO GEMS!
-Include chip damage (I don't know if the 2013 patch included this)
-When cross arts are performed, freeze the timer until the cross art is complete
-No on disc DLC
-Leave out pandora mode, unless it's a boss challenge mode
-Leave out that Guilty Gear Isuka style mode where all 4 players are in the game
-Include more language options
-Better character endings
-More customization options; not just colors
-More music (include old classics and remixes of character themes)
I also made my own character roster for this remake (it was TOUGH). 19 For the base roster, 12 for DLC, and 4 special guests for both sides:
Street Fighter: (Base roster) Ryu & Ken, Chun Li & Cammy, Balrog & Vega, M. Bison & F.A.N.G, R. Mika & Zangief, Sakura & Karin, Dee Jay & Elena, Blanka & Dan, Birdie & Rufus. (Boss) Gill. (DLC) Sagat & T. Hawk, E. Honda & Hakan, C. Viper & Juri, Rose & Menat, Guy & Maki, Poison & Rashid. (Special guests) Mega Man (the real one), Soki, Morrigan, & Frank West.
Tekken: (Base roster) Kazuya & Anna, Xiaoyu & Arisa, Paul & Marshall Law, Jin & Nina, Jaycee & Steve, Asuka & Lili, Chloe & Christie. Alex & Roger, King (II) & Marduk. (Boss) Unknown. (DLC) Fakumram & Michelle, Ganryu & Bruce, Heihachi & Kuma, Zafina & Eliza, Yoshimitsu & M. Raven, Tiger & Bob. (Special guests) Pac Man (without the Mokujin mech), Taki, Ivy, & Gon.
If Kazuya's team were to go against Ken & Ryu, wouldn't it make more sense to have Bruce team up with Kaz?
Ryu in a street fighter game? Yeah like that would ever happen
He's almost as likely as Kazuya being in the game
Let me put you at ease cause it would be wild if he made a Street Fighter video with Ryu in the thumbnail and didn’t put him in the roster
@@kalebsantos72 That's Street Fighter, not Ryu, touch up on your lore.
@@dreamusmenus3759 Yeah, that’s the classic Protagonist of Street Fighter, Street Fighter
Now this is a build the roster episode I've been waiting for
Same lol
First 5 characters be like:
Its the guy from netflix
its the guy from fortnite
Its the guy from smash bros
Its the guy from capcom fighting evolution
Its the guy from playstation all stars
The guy from fortnite was a real left field pick.

2 YEARS!!?!? Jeez man, time is just moving. Your channel is absolutely amazing... Keep up the great work my dude!
Congrats on the 2 year anniversary!! Keep moving forward!
I love your videos! The time and effort you put in them is so amazing. When I see a new video I get so excited like it’s a new movie coming out
When one of your favorite Tekken characters also happens to be Thorgi's
I'm so happy I'm not the only one who appreciates Bob so much 😂
A couple of months ago I actually made a roster for this game so I am excited to see how ours compare
Man this would be awesome. I really hope people from Namco and Capcom see this and start taking notes
Congrats on two years, always enjoyed seeing the creative roster ideas and the level of detail you put into coming up with reasons they'd be great choices.
For DLC characters ideas:
- Josie Rizal and Dee Jay, wanted to give Josie some love and had difficulties picking a rival, but picked Dee Jay since he's also a kickboxer but also thinking of the interactions, like Dee Jay seeing potential in her and give her more confidence.
- Roger Jr. and Mike Haggar, wanted to give Final Fight some rep (well a little more rep) and also have a wild choice, so chose Mike since he hasn't appeared as a playable character in Street Fighter proper, so like Poison, he returns to the ring although his moves will be tweaked to deviate from Zangief's moves, while Roger Jr fights how he does normally.
For Roster suggestions:
- A Smash Bros with Microsoft characters (maybe call it X-Brawlers or something)
- A Danganronpa fighting game (though for a challenge, maybe come up with an in story explanation for why characters that should be dead are around and figure out their finishers/executions)
- A Godzilla fighting game similar to the Atari trilogy (Destroy all Monsters Melee, Save The Earth and Unleashed)
- A Transformers Fighting game with various characters from many timelines and universe
- A Marvel vs DC crossover (if the NetherRealms's Marvel game rumor is anything to go by, could also be an idea if the rumor goes nowhere )
- A Resident Evil Fighting game for Halloween perhaps? Could be neat seeing the iconic characters and monsters get some ideas
- an Avatar fighting game (with a challenge of having the Last Airbender cast interacting with the Legend of Korra cast through a story)
- Legend of Zelda Fighter, the series has a lot of characters to choose from.
- A Disney Smash Bros, with Nick and CN having done one (the latter could have a sequel roster idea but then again there is that WB game I nearly forgot about), they'd be the next step as they have a variety of well known and obscure movies/shows to choose from
- A Sailor Moon Fighterz game, you’d think a well known series like this would have a lot of games but it’s only had a few and only the heroes were playable. I think if Arcsys did make this, they can add some more characters like some villains to spice up the game idea
Sounds boring
I’d go with two each:
Namco: Ivy and WarGreymon
Capcom: Morrigan and Mega Man (any version)

This was really innovative and interesting choices. Well done.
It's all been worth it, started watching this last year with MVC4 and been hyped up for these since
congratulations on your 2 year anniversary thorgi and love your build the roster/videos about capcom & fighting games in general and you did a great roster. :3
my picks for a dlc team would be anna williams/poison(love to see them interact.),hugo/jack & elena/christie.
You did an excellent job of explaining things. I know nothing of Tekken but the way you described it made a lot of the matchups make sense
Also, I was waiting the whole video for the Kuma/Blanka pairing.
So happy I found this channel, stellar work my dude, stellar af.
Although I do disagree with some
of the choices, I thought this was a great video. And for some future BTR I would like to see:
- An updated MVC4 roster.
It would be cool if the runners from Zone of the Enders (eg. Jehuty and Anubis) got representation in your robot fighting game idea.
Christ, I can't believe it's already been a year since the CVS3 video. Time flies when you're having fun I guess. Anyway, love your vids man. Keep 'em up!
Another banger of a video. Thank you for the amazing content, good sir.
Finally some Tekken x Street Fighter content in the community! We appreciate you Thorgi! My kind of video. I'm actually working on a video to showcase how the Street Fighters would play in Tekken based off of how Akuma was implemented so this motivates me to finish it up 🔥
Funnily enough, without wishing to spoil Tekken 8's story:
Jin and Ryu would actually be a great pairing considering where their stories have currently left them.
Just one minor suggestion:
I'd like to add one character to balance out Jinpachi's place as the base roster's sole final boss: Ingrid, the original character featured in "Capcom Fighting Evolution" after her initial game was cancelled, as well as the creator of the Pandora Box from "Street Fighter X Tekken" (according to the tie-in comic for that game).
Those annoyed by the Pandora system now has a name and face to direct their ire and what few fans she has from CFE and/or SFA3 now have another chance to play this anomaly of a character once more.
And Gill? Urien would be on the game and Gill not? It doesn't make sense... Gill would be a perfect SF boss if you ask me...
Why does Jinpachi have to be a boss there's plenty of bosses in Tekken besides a dead character
I mean, Ingrid does have her fans in the States (albeit not very many). I'm guilty of being one of them. XD
Also, #IngridForSF6 - get it trending, folks.
Regarding Heihachi, we only know about his new English voice actor. We don’t know about his Japanese voice.
Ok but do you really think that show somehow won’t get a Japanese dub
It was revealed that Heihachi have a new Japanese VA, Kusunoki Taiten. He's the JP dub voice of Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson.
“Heihachi isn’t returning for the main series anymore.” Well, add that to list of poorly aged quotes.
The effort you put into your videos is actually insane
Definitely an awesome video and great ideas and matchups!
Literally the only one I wanted to see included would be my SFV main E. Honda, but then that would mean including Ganryu, so I...uh...think you made all the right choices 😂😂😭😭(Though shoutouts to all the Ganryu mains - fun character, just...personality-wise...well...)
I love the idea of Ken beating up Hwoarang and then telling him to go home and be a family man
At the beginning, I made a list of essential characters that HAD to be on the roster. By the end of the second DLC wave, the only ones you missed were Lars and Dhalsim. Really think they need to be here. But other than that, pretty solid roster. So glad Jinpachi is present.
Something I thought of that could be fun:
You can pull characters from any fighting game not from a pre-established franchise, but only one character per country
The beginning of this pairing makes sense and then things go wayyyy off the rails once Leroy starts. Lots of weird choices but the tekken side is solid
This makes so much sense. Namco needs to hire you as a consultant.
Absolutely amazing work. I love these videos.
One roster I hope you build someday would be "Shonen Jump vs. Capcom". Matchups like Goku vs. Ryu, Naruto vs. Strider, Ichigo vs. Dante, Monkey D. Luffy vs. Edward Falcon etc.
I'd say 26 characters on each side since MvC2 and UMvC3 had rosters around that size.
And Deku vs. Classic Mega Man, along with Chitoge vs. Roll.
@@maxleon61702 I was thinking more like Deku vs. Battle Network Mega Man.
I was waiting for all of these matchups 1:27:07 . Great video!
This video was SO well made.
Great one man! Cool Choices! Still Hyped for KOF Retrospective Part 3! Happy Anniversary! Cheers to more Years man!
Looll
Inner Akihiko makes me wanna say I've been waiting for this
i recently began watching your videos and that intro theme was so great!
She’s generally hated in the Street Fighter community, so that’s one can of worms I don’t see them touching.
@@Neoxon619 To be fair technically speaking that can of worms was already touched in Project X Zone 2.
AMAZING!!!
Yeah, this was going to happen at some point. Hope it ain't like what happened to Street Fighter X Tekken; That game was a shitshow at launch.
Hey at the very least we can enjoy the wishlist and keep the hope alive... Let's enjoy
@@royshaheer. True.
with the on disc DLC, gems, pay to win gems ect. I completely agree. however I found sfxt strangely charming. the cut scene budget, music and some of the final roster characters are great imo. but it was shit at launch and didn't have staying power. although ppl still do play it today.
Akuma in Tekken 7 was basically a prototype of this
@@mguymario yup as well as Geese, Eliza, Noctis etc
I need this to happen. You got me hyped for a game that doesn't exist. At the very least, this earned my sub.
I appreciated the info about heihachi, I had no idea and it was super interesting
a lot more interesting that just being like "yeah, its heihachi, let's move on"
Excellent roster list! I like how you took some chances with some, and made others super obvious. Keep up the good work
I would totally buy this game BTW
I don't know why I have this feeling that if Tekken X Street Fighter happened, Bandai Namco might make it canon to Tekken. That would be crazy.
Now you just need to make a "Build The Roster" for Tekken X Virtua Fighter! Now that's a crossover that's been long overdue. Maybe Tekken X The King of Fighters too.....
I think it would be cool if they made a three way crossover between Tekken, Virtua Fighter and Dead or Alive.
@@jonssogaming8255 Agreed, that would be cool, though personally I'd like to see Street Fighter X The King of Fighters X Tekken.
@@marplatense31 that would be pretty pretty cool to be fair. I’d love to see Blue Mary be incorporated into Tekken’s gameplay. Gato vs Feng would also be cool to see.
Well Akuma is canon to Tekken so I wouldn’t be surprised lol
@@marplatense31 yeah many of the KOF characters would work well in Tekken in a unique way. VF and DOA are actually pretty similar as far as character tropes and play styles go being there all 3D games, so a bit too similar but I wouldn’t mind lol
Okay, crazy idea:
“Capcom vs. Capcom”
What do I mean by that? I’m glad you asked.
The whole gimmick of the game is that each character has a rival…but all the rivals are mixed and matched. No two rivals are from the same franchise. So instead, we’d have rivalries like…
Asura vs. Akuma
Zero vs. Strider Hiryu
Juri vs. Morrigan
Leon Kennedy vs. Frank West
Bionic Commando vs. Cpt. Commando
I could keep going, but I want to hear more people’s suggestions.
Dante vs viewtiful joe
Mike Haggar vs Zangief
Arthur vs Valkyrie
Jill Valentine vs Lady
@@jacksoninskip1614 Bison vs Wesker
Not gonna lie, i would love to see Poison and Anna team/match up. Something about their personalities makes them a perfect fit, but i can't pick my finger on it...
I never realize how cool of a Poison vs Anna rivalry would be. However, C. Viper vs Anna would work as well.
@@protoluigi2047 Oh definitely
I thought that Poison was from Final Fight? Wasn't this video supposed to be about Tekken characters fighting against Street Fighter characters?
@@rockmenx8xx411 Well Final Fight & Street Fighter are intertwined, which is why Poison is a playable character in USF4.
@@protoluigi2047 I know but those series don't even have any impact on each other. They may as well be set in different universes.
Very fun video to try and guess which character would be the rival to each Tekken character. Best Build your Roster video you’ve made so far, I think.
I'd love to see your choices for an MK vs SF roster.
Would the Street Fighter characters get their own Fatalities? Would there even BE Fatalities? I can't imagine Sub-Zero ripping out Dan Hibiki's spine.
@@Silverwind87 in my head, it goes... In place of Fatalities, Super Arts become Brutality Arts (x-rays). Super Arts done towards the end of the match become Fatal Arts. (almost similar to Injustice)
I don’t wanna be a wet blanket but they’d never collab but it would be interesting to talk about lol
I think a T rated Street Fighter Vs Mortal Kombat could work but an M rated Mortal Kombat Vs Street Fighter would make no sense.
@@clashmanthethird Japan doesn’t acknowledge MK lol
Yes!!!! I’ve been waiting for this build a roster!!!
I still get literal goosebumps and chills up my spine when I hear "Heihachi Mishima is dead"
interesting thing about Jin and Ryu is that the original SFxT Trailers implied Jin and Ryu actually knew each other like how they do in Namco X Capcom and Project X Zone
Awesome video as per usual, man.
So just a couple things
I'm down with the Leroy vs. Alex matchup, but a big part of me really wants to see Leroy vs Gen.
Also
I would love to fit Claudio and Lars in the roster, but I don't know who I'd put them against.
Wang vs gen is a better option instead of just being 2 old dude's Leroy vs gen have no comparison
@@shenelljohnson74
Leroy vs Gen have plenty in comparison.
Both old masters
Both use traditional styles and even wear similar clothing
Both rely heavily on their stances
And if that isn't enough, Leroy is pretty much Wang's replacement anyway
A David lynch reference right off the bat??!!! This is why I love this channel
Bit surprised you didn't include a Jack; probably would have made him Guile's rival due to the hair.
Honestly id love to see a part two i was surprised that marduk didn't make this list because his also a big time grappler type..Man plz do a part two!!🔥🔥👍🔥🔥
Me: I've been waiting a long time for this!
Video premieres in 14 hours: Keep waiting bitch.
