My aunt Pauline didn Ulysses in Nighttown with Zero Mostel. She was Molly Bloom. She said after NewYork, they toured Europe and that she got loudly propositioned by him in every hotel lobby they stayed at. She thought he was great and he gave her one of his paintings as a wedding gift.
ha! you have to some digging, but I found a blog making reference to the 1958 production of Ulysses in Nighttown. This is interesting to me because my beloved, a nice jewish boy from Queens, told me many times of his joy in getting to see numerous plays and musicals as a youngster--his mother had a friend who knew Sol Hurok--so he would venture into Manhattan to be mesmerized! this is when he saw Zero Mostel in the flesh. The man makes an impression to be sure 🤪
Zero in Rhinocerous: one of the most astonishing performances I've ever have the privilege to witness. Mostel was a monster of talent.
Gene too.

Mostel would have been so in demand with all the current animation comedies. He would of loved doing them, am sure.
i’m watching the hot rock right now and Zero is just gold. Abe Greenberg forever!🤘🏻
What a truly Alien world we once lived in, and it was glorious and painful at the same time.
