Well, a lot of winners won and they are not even the best vocals in the competition, but their individual talent, originality and everytime they come up on stage, they are really owning the song and that made them an idol. We love you Philllip Phillips 😍😍😍😍

The award very much belongs to him. Many people love Phillip's sound. I am not looking at him when I am listening to his music on my ipod, but I enjoy the songs just the same.

It's the electricity that JLO's mentioned.

Not a great singer? is he deaf? lol. His voice is so unique, and the way he sings is so different. And he is a great singer.. He can hit high notes. Not as high as Joshua or Jessica, but he is pretty great.. He's so cute.. So humble..

im not one of those who are upset that Jessica lost and are complaining but i just wana say like it's obvious Jessica would say he deserved it and that hes a great artist and blah blah well bcuz its what the people want to hear and people would make a big deal if she said the opposite thing. but over all they're both great singers.

I'm a fan of Jessica, and wish it was her who won, but really.. they are both deserving. and Jessica's American okay. It's people like you who keep saying she's filipino, etc.. which did not helped her at all.. Jessica's happy.. so move on and just support and buy her songs instead of posting comments like this
When you're surrounded by that much talent, your confidence is bound to lower a good bit. This guy has had a pretty modest upbringing and that can also affect your opinion of yourself when put into the national limelight.

i dont think him saying "im not a great singer" is a good choice of words. he is a great singer, what i think he means is he isnt a big vocal singer like the others. phillip has a nice voice and doesnt overdo anything. its just at that perfect level!

Hm, perhaps it influenced some voters but not all. And you know what, some Jessica fans also have their biased reasons for supporting Jessica as well and those reasons have nothing to do with her talent. But of course, not all fans are like this on either side.

I didnt know you were god and could tell why people voted for Phillip.
Keep dreaming if you still think people voted Phillip mainly because of his music. He won more likely because of his LOOKS and people thought he was humble. Throw in also the sympathy votes because of his kidney stones. Even jessica thought PP deserves to win mainly because of that- that he suffered more physically and mentally.

@amClyn6 Whoever among you guys mentioning about race you better do a research on Geneology in the Bible and you will be surprise to know what is the superior race is? Just find it yourself. I won't say anything or you can consult a Geneologist. I was in my Bible study & our Resource person in the Scott Memorial Baptist Church was a Geneologist and discussed about the race issue and to my surprised knowing the superior race was NOT THE RACE THAT THESE RACIST CLAIM.Again consult your GENEOLOGIST
