Im pretty baffled that you rather risk someone taking it, than go get it from a post office/collection point, like we do in Finland. My packages dont go missing.
@@janemiettinen5176Americans have been foiled by the various companies competing for customers. When we went to the store and bought things in person, we brought them home ourselves.
Then companies began promising "Free Delivery".... Eventually they wanted us to pay for delivery, and the next move was to pay other companies to deliver our packages.
Now the delivery companies demand from the workers to not waste any time, so the workers toss the package to the edge of the porch, some even end up beside the porch step, where rain got into my package, which also happened to be slightly torn on one side... They don't even bother to ring the doorbell so we can go out and pick up the package before it is stolen...
So we are all responsible for creating a larger group of thieves.... They show up like rats, when you leave some scraps of food where they can smell it!
And by now we have caused such economic havoc, that our stores are closing, the delivery companies can't find enough workers to drive all over the city delivering even small items packaged in not-so-small packages, filled with plastic bags full of air.... Where will it end!?!?
Last year my sister sent me Christmas cookies in November. I received them in time for Valentine's Day....
@janemiettinen5176 except post office usually have working hours similar to 9-5. How tf am i gonna collect my parcels if I'm also working 😑
@@tokiimato Well thats just weird, postal services arent for working people? Here post offices are open to 7-8pm. Right now I dont have post office near me at all, just several automatic collection points (I get a code that opens my cubby), one is available 24/7 (outdoors). The rest are inside grocery stores, open to 10pm, including sat & sun.
@janemiettinen5176 that's why it's impractical to compare the situation with Finland. Postal offices in most countries (including Malaysia, where i live) operates 9 to 5. Collection point also exists but impractical to places that have huge population bcs sharing cubbies is not possible.

Basically. Packages in my building go missing ALL THE TIME. I'll bet any amount it's someone who lives here. Management just installed a bunch of new cameras which is great but criminals don't stop until someone stops them.
