I live in a middle class neighborhood that is predominantly white, but my neighbor across the street is a single black man. He's a very nice, quiet and helpful man who works mostly from home doing computer work. ALWAYS willing to help anyone out and has done much renovations making his house one of the nicest on the block. Lovely, lovely man.
About a year ago we were standing on his driveway talking when a police car came by and asked ME if everything was OK. A bit stunned I said "yes, of course." He asked again. We both responded a bit incredulously that all was fine. He said "there was a call." "Who called?" I asked. He pointed to MY house to which I laughed and told him that was MY house and no one called. That angered him.
He then said he knew the lady who lived at my neighbors house and had lived there for decades. She died years ago and he has lived there for about 9 years.
Then he wanted to know why the man's car never seems to move from the driveway. He explained that he works from home.
Turns out there was no call from anyone. He was just driving down the street on routine patrol.
I would have pursued a complaint, but my neighbor didn't want to make a big thing of it. Over the next week or so I noticed a police car driving on our street several times, which is actually a rare occasion. They're hardly ever seen in our neighborhood.

Matter of fact unless someone called to say this man was illegally dumping, they should never have stopped him in the first place! If what the police did and the Chief approved of was right, then any time someone goes to put trash in a dumpster they can be detained by cops and made to verify they have legal claim to the dumpster, at any time!!!!! That's BS!!!!!! In this case they should NOT have said anything more "How are you today" as they drove by! There was no laws being broken, no probable cause for a stop. NOTHING! Then when the guy was nice enough to supply business cards and ID they still didn't want to let it go! This goes to the mindset of LEOs - All civilians are criminals especially if they're black!!!!!

We all know they would have run the guy’s ID through their system, fishing for a hit, with no legal basis to do so. Most people won’t see a problem surrendering their license, especially when requested, thinking it’s innocent and just for the coos paperwork. @@nadiyahhopkins491 lol...Hello, Nadiyah. you crack me up. I feel the police were wrong for what they did to this black man. And for that I'M the racist but you're not??? Well... "you('re) not white so you don't understand. Don't say you('re) not racist because YOU ARE." When you don't understand what someone is saying, you just excuse your ignorance and call them "racist". That's what low-class people do.
Educate yourself and look up the word "infringed" and maybe you'll see that I'm agreeing that the cops were wrong
