      thanks for sharing. In too many videos the people just talk about the tires but not the pressure. I was told that 15 psi for the rear and 20 for the front should be a good pressure for such muddy ground.

    You sure did put them through the paces on that rip! Seems like that slick sticky clay would be tuff for most tires on the KLR. Really nice test vid! Kept me glued the entire time. Ride safe mate!! 👌🏼👍🏼

    The FMF sounds great! Once the tires fill up with certain types of mud ,they becomes slicks. I've never tried it ,but I've heard big block tires are good in mud.

    Hey m8 from the states here, loving the klr videos, you're showing folks what the bikes are truly capable of.
    Yeah you were seriously skating around and spinning.
    However what I noticed is you were still making progress most of the unlike with those junk stock tires that just went tits up and left you stuck and pushing the bike.
    Looks like a pretty good improvement over all, keep up the awesome content, you gained a sub 🤘🤘

      I agree that you can run less air pressure. I started out like you with 35 rear and 25 front and the bike followed tar snakes and uneven pavement and was annoying. I dropped the air to off road 21 rear and 19 front and then road the street too and it worked great. I now run about 21 front and 25 or 26 rear and it works great.

    • @larrytucker1945
      @larrytucker1945 2 года назад +1

      Factory speeds are 26psi in the front and 26-36psi in the rear depending on load. 30s feel good on the road but pretty slick off road. I run factory specs most of the time but haven’t had any mud yet.

  • @bigtater29
    @bigtater29 2 года назад

    Sweet video man! I really expected them to do better off-road. But from other videos I've watched, the tread depth isn't quite as deep as most of the other adventure and off-road tires. At least there was no one around when ya stalled. I stalled in front of a bunch of people the other day. Lol. Trying to find my sister and her kids to watch the fireworks on the 4th. People everywhere! Lol. Have you noticed an improvement with the new exhaust coupled with the removal of the air snorkel? I noticed with the stock exhaust, it's a little stumbly from idle. At least with a cold start.

    Hi, I find it very strange that you have pumped both tyres up to 35 Psi when the Owners Manual clearly states 21 Psi Front and 28 Psi Rear and depending on your weight the rear will be lower probably down to 23 Psi , I weigh 110 kgs and run my tyres at 21 and 24 and with extra luggage added I run the rear to 26 .
    So I would state that all your tyre testing and results are false indications of performance and are basically inaccurate and not a fair indication in real world results especially with your inaccurate adjustments made during the review and for the sake of true results I believe you should start again and not give out wrong results for people who need information to make an informed purchase of tyres based on your review .
    I can't believe you even bothered to post this video knowing that you were going to change the tyre pressures accurately with a tyre gauge and do it all again . keep it real !

    • @onthebackwheel
      @onthebackwheel  2 года назад

      There's a lot here and I'll try to answer it as best as possible. I am always honest and always will be, nothing I have ever done says otherwise. This is a first ride review and I openly stated numerous times I will need to do further testing and measure pressures with my tyre guage on the fly. Further to this, I measured my pressures when I got home and they were extremely close to the recommmended tyre pressures you mention (which are for the stock tyres, not the AX41's). In my full review I will be testing them with varying pressures, I can not see the off road performance changing much at all from this video though. If I wasn't keeping it real, why would I bag the AX41's (without a click bait title too)? These are pretty meh off road in a variety of conditions. Better than stock and good on road though
