Rost was easily the catalyst to this being an incredible and memorable game. A big burly man who is the ultimate protectorate to little Aloy - WHO ISN'T EVEN HIS CHILD. How can you not appreciate that?
@@RaylynneGames Ever consider Death Stranding? Same engine, different gameplay and storytelling - basically crazy af. It's definitely not for everyone as it's kinda slow paced and weird, but very rewarding if you complete it and get the story and message. Be sure to check out Yong Yeah's spoiler free review of it before deciding. Not scary per se, but has intense stealth moments. It's more about taking it slow and make strategically correct choices. Easily 40-50 hours for total story focus, 60-80 for world building and side missions (recommended), and 120'ish for platinum. Definitely go PS5 or PC, with the most fun in the directors cut edition. I'm absolutely obsessed with Death Stranding, and the only game I've watched in full 30+ times - lost count. But, not for everyone.
Such an amazing opening to one of the best games and storylines ever made. If your reaction to this beginning is anything to go by, you're in for a treat - hope you stick with it and remain unspoiled!
One of the things I love about how they did the tutorial is that you learn stuff as Aloy learns them as a child. Between that and the question “how did she end up being this strong, intelligent and agile?” is answered by the fact that she’d been training for the proving from age six, all the while, learning things from the Focus. Sort of a quiet construction of the world and the character in the first hour that makes the whole thing more immersive.
Yeah I’m not a cryer but I will say the opening act of the game with the prologue, the bullying and then the audio logs of the dead really threw me a curveball with the level of tragedy in the game.
@@RaylynneGames I hate to sound like a fanboy but Sony’s first party just nail emotional connection in a way others don’t. The writing and facial animation talent they’ve accumulated is second to none.
I cried too with just the beginning scene. I've played through a few times now and I still cry lol I feel like streamers never fully have the emotional intensity I have and it was really nice to see you express and cry too.
Great reaction, Ray! This is such an amazing and mesmerizing game! I was privileged to test it for Sony for years before it was released. In fact, it was due to testing the game several times over several years that I decided to get a PS4 upon the release of this game. Prior to this, I was exclusively PC and Xbox One. The Sony exclusives -- and the beauty and magnificence of their storytelling -- is one advantage that the company and its devs have over PC and Xbox. While there are some amazing titles that came later (e.g., God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, etc.), this one holds a special place in my heart. I cannot wait for the upcoming sequel!
This game is one that really tugs on the heartstrings; I’ve just finished replaying it and I had forgotten how many moments elicit real, genuine emotion in me. Glad to see someone who appreciates it, looking forward to watching the rest of your playthrough!
One thing you didn't get, if you highlight the path of a machine and leave it highlighted, when you turn the focus off, the path stays visible. You kept deflecting the tracks before turning off the focus.
Follow the story through to the end. Hang on every single dialogue, interaction, and mystery unraveled. Then prepare yourself for the follow-up that is Forbidden West.
First I was skeptical about this game because reddit and quora users were saying that this game had boring storyline, open world felt dead, bad game mechanics, etc. All this is far from the truth in my eyes because I stopped listening to those people and played the whole game including the dlc. This shows that you can't listen to people until you play it yourself. The only thing they were telling the truth about is the terrible lip syncing in dialogue(not cinematic cutscenes), the poor combat against human enemies and the low optimization for pc but other than that this game is one of the few games which felt the void in me after playing Witcher 3. It deserves to be in top 10 games in the whole word. Although the game is lot better in patch 1.10. The crashes are fixed and the game rarely stutters for me but I do get some minor stutters from time to time.
Best thing about that cinematic training montage at the end is you can do everything later in game. Even sliding under the machines while shooting it. In other games it is a lot times that in cinematic is your character doing cool stuff but gameplay is meh.
I have played through this game 4 times just before Forbidden West came out and once just after Zero Dawn came out. This is not just a game, it is the experience of a lifetime! I wish I could erase this game from my memory just so that I can experience it again for the first time, that I why I am watching other ppl play it to see their reactions and kind of re-live that first time feeling. I think I've seen about 3 ppl do a complete playthrough and started about 5 others that didn't react enough to my liking. You on the other hand had the best reaction in the opening credits! I subscribed right after, gonna watch you play through the whole story! Can't wait to see how you enjoy this! 😁👍
Holland's glory Guerilla Games Studios really made a masterpiece that in my opinion is is still under appreciated because it was PS4 only exclusive, now that PC folk can enjoy it I hope 🤞🏽 they get more appreciated as a Studio that actually doesn't put a quick cash turn around first. We as gamers have to praise these types of studios and keep them in high regards.🙂
played the game through 4 times or more on ps4 and then 3 times on PC and now with Horizon Forbidden west i have gone through it 3 times and now doing it on story mode so i can just take my time with Burning shores DLC so i can take my time exploring and then after that new game plus with highest difficulty after that, enjoy the games mechanics and loved setting up traps and driving herds of animals into them in the first game just farming materials can be fun to do.
It's funny how you suddenly realize or at least suspect something - like when Rust accidentally disarms Aloy when she goes to save the boy... Chances are that too many test players tried to use their bows on the machines and made a royal mess of things. Well, it's a hypothesis anyway.
Tears already? Gee..can't wait when you reach the actually touching moments of this games sweetie. It's worth a play. One of the best singleplayer games of the last decade. P.S I love your nose 🏳️🌈
Does anyone know what happened to her? the last thing she posted was 2 years ago, i tried looking it up but all I got was info on the singer that was shot, the one that competed on the Voice season 2 which is not her. anyway, anyone know?
“A much better choice would be the Uncharted series” Don’t get me wrong, I love the Uncharted series, but that was such an untrue statement. Both games are hella different
i wish you comeback 🥲 you were an inspiration to me you and other 2 but your reactions are the most honest and real reactions i've ever seen i laughed with you in gta 5 and cried with you in the beginning of this game i stopped watching once you hit new game cause iam doing blind walkthroughs good luck in your life again hope you comeback i know there was something at work that made you stop dunno much about it but i wish you can do this again even once a week dont give that up i remember your happy tears after you made partners with twitch , just think bout it

Oh this gets you right in the feels from the start and then the masterpiece of a game steals the show from there!

rost was a great character but saying he's such a big part of why the game is good is wrong as hell.
Rost is... The Boss... Sarah Miller... The most important character in these games, the one that makes our favorite characters story possible.
You know a game is good when someone cries before the gameplay starts
Couldnt say it better...

@@RaylynneGames Where's your part 2? Watching others play it is like doing again with another person. So much to play through before sequel.

I basically cry once Aloy grows up in one cut and her theme music kicks in. I think I tear up every time
"And we're just going to give them knowledge? Like it's some sort of a gift?"
Great video and reaction. The music beats get me right in the feels every time. Hope your channel blows up, this deserves way more views!

Jaw dropping entrance and final! ;-) Thumbs up for PC players though!

i cry everytime i see the Happy birthday isaac hologram. Remember NOBODY except Rost talks to her because she's an outcast.
