Absolutely crushing it with the uploads recently! Keep up the great work. It is very much appreciated! Can’t wait to see your review on the SL2. Seems to be knocking it out of the park based on initial reviews.
I just planned out my next two weeks and the uploads are ridiculous. So much to cover…. And this is even without the SL2 which isn’t released yet here in Taiwan or has a release date yet. Thank you for the support! 🤙🏻
I just discovered your channel and I've been binging, absolutely first class content, thank you! I have picked up a pair of Mizuno Neo Vistas recently, I love them so much I'm going to pickup another 2 pairs to make sure I never run out. Looking forward to future videos!
Welcome. Enjoy those Mizunos. The Neo Vista is exactly everything I dislike in a running shoe, the reviews I watch made that very clear. However, I'm watching the brand now. Thank you for watching. Stay tuned. 🤙🏻
Agree...the pricing and (sales lately) are great for both of these. The Puma has the edge there for value for money...but the Adidas is great for all the tech you get in the shoe.
Thank you for the reviews. I've watched your comparisons and decided to went for VN3 and the ride is just as you described, which is what I want in my daily training. Keep up with the great reviews!
With the Prima release the Rise is on a pretty good sale now. Definitely going to pick it up. I’m hoping it will replace both my Novablast 3 and my More V4 for easy and recovery runs.
I was waiting for this review, was expecting a clear cut winner but the end testimonial was really great. Both options seem nice to replace my Novablast 4 in another ~300km. Have 350km in them so far and I feel they will hit 600km. Might lean more towards the VN3 because of some light trails but the slightly more cushioning on the SNR makes it a hard pick.
If you are doing any trails at all...the VN3 is the way to go. The SNR is amazing, but the outsole is fully road only... maybe dirt roads but nothing more.
Good evening. I thought we'll be seeing today the green one (the 41, as shown in Strava), but instead we got these two fine gents. Not complaining, just stating. :)
I love the velocity nitro 3. I run a lot on mixed terrain of road and light trails and it feels great on both. Wore it for a 10k race in a storm and still hit my sub-60 target. I just started running about 4 months ago and it was a great all arounder to get started in. The Supernova Rise sounds interesting for the long zone 2 training runs. I struggle to stay in zone 2 with the Velocity Nitro 3, always sneaking into the lower end of zone 3. The Rise is sounding like a good shoe option for that.
Another great video with great insights! i been loving my supernova rise for easy runs and i’m looking forward for the SL2. Quick question do you have a video explaining the differences between types of foams for midsole or did i made that up?
I have a foam matrix that has been in. a handful of vides, but it is only superfoams. It all started from this video (ruclips.net/video/BY5FyvuANP4/видео.htmlsi=RlT3er9hQ92clAs5) and I've updated it a bit more recently. But nothing comparing all foams. It is something I have on my content plan for later this year though.
I need yo update my easy run shoe quite soon. Currently running with NB4. But I really like many Adidas shoes. So now it's a question of Supernova rise or SL2.
I haven’t run in the SL2 yet but my assumption is it is going to be a similar relationship as these two shoes (as I pointed out at the end of the video). So the SL2’is the better all rounder and the SNR is the better dedicated easy run shoe. I will be doing a “vs” video comparing the SL2 to the SNR once I have a pair…. I’ll get more into it then.
I’ve got the Velocity Nitro 2 and aside from the excellent Pumagrip outsole, I did not like it. The foam felt rather blah and the heel was too mushy and unstable. I hope they’ve managed to improve things for the Velocity Nitro 3.
@@SagasuRunning Thank you very much. Great channel. I’m very interested in Taiwan and I would like to try out one of those sandals they use to run there. My next 2 shoe purchases will probably be the Superblast (either 1 or 2, we’ll see) and the Nnormal Tomir 2 trail running shoe.
Well, I'll be damned. Yesterday I went to the store and found the SL 2 had arrived last week. I resisted the temptation to buy it outright. Today, I found the Puma Velocity Nitro 3! It had also arrived about two weeks ago. It was very hard to resist with Nick whispering in my ear how great that shoe was, but I did anyway. Now I'm only waiting for the Pegasus. Having tried on (didn't run, sadly) both the SR and VN3 I think your comparison may be right on the money. The SR looks like the more comfortable ride for easy and long runs whereas the VN3 is probably the better all-rounder and tempo trainer. The forefoot of the VN3 definitely felt less close-to-the-ground than my Peg 39. 2024 is just spoiling us for choice with daily trainers!😅
Great video! Now very good prices for both. But I’m about to start a marathon training block and for my easy/long run shoes I’m considering the Rise, Vomero (which I know you don’t like) and Novablast 4 - how the Rise and VNitro 3 compare to the Novablast?
I'd compare the NB4 and SNR together. They tick the same boxes, but in different ways. I quite like the NB4, but will pick the SNR over it anyday, especially for long runs. After 10-12mi my feet fatigue in the NB4...and FFBlast+ ECO foam has NOTHING on Dreamstrike+ for leg savings, important in a marathon build. The ultimate marathon build rotation from Adidas will be later this year. SNR = easy/long runs SL2 = all rounder Adios 9 = Workouts and easy runs Adios Pro 4 = long runs with pace and racing My minimalist rotation would be; SL2 = all rounder AP4 = long at pace and racing Once I get a SL2...I'll confirm all of this and do some rotation videos int he fall.
I know that this s a "me" problem, and I do understand the purpose of daily trainers... but since I have dozenz of shoes I lost the connection of their purpose, why I should use them over any other specific shoe. The Supernova Prima looks interessting to me.
I go for... training effect, I want to work harder in training, lower stack/flex for stronger feet and legs... simplicity so that I can run with my feet, not my shoes. I also like basic shoes as I can go anywhere and do anything with them and if I can hit various paces in them by the time I put on a super shoe...they feel like magic. Maybe I'm old school though...the trainer/racer shoe combo is sacred to me in running. All other shoe types are just noise (even if some are useful or fun).
I tried to give Decathlon shoes a chance. I run with someone here in Taiwan who is a big fan of them, both Kiprun and their trail line, he raves about them. Plus we have some Decathlon executives in our little group… but I just didn’t get on with them. Alot of value there but the fit and materials/finish is lacking, IMO.
Decathlon are supposed to be a good value pick but they never go on sale so in the end they always lose to a better, last year race shoe at a cheaper price on some sale. I don't get the idea Decathlon has for their shoes. There are few people who run in them so you don't even consider them when picking a race shoe because you know very little about them. Decathlon is the last place you would consider for a race shoe because you are either ready to splurge on a top pick from known brand or you already bought something at clearance sale. I think Decathlon should rethink their marketing by either making shoes cheaper, making sales more often or just hitting R&D hard and release something that will blow their competition out of the water.
Agree with this. Additionally the Decathlon merchandising in their stores, at least here in Taiwan, is absolutely horrendous. To the point I never want to go back into one again. They need to create independent Kiprun boutiques. Move them away from Decathlon stores. They might help a lot… but I also agree with your points. It might not be enough to matter.
Not particularly interested in these two models; I just really enjoy your discusions. The Adidas I am interested in is the upcoming Pro 4; and for Puma, it's the Deviate Nitro 3 / Elite 3.
Definitely the AP4. I just saw today that Puma Deviate Nitro 3 comes out in July. I'll be covering that one as well. Can't wait for both. Thank you for watching (as always). 🤙🏻

Two very different shoes that will compliment one another. I talked a lot about the VN3 versatility in my 100 mile review...great shoe.
Very clear explanation, thanks
