@@homosapien5156 I found the Saucony Triumph 20 for €82 last April, though I admit I search a very long time , but I think now the 21 is out you could find it IF you’re interested… lovely shoe and extremely long wearing !!!! AND just a few weeks ago snagged the Speed 3 for only €60!!!! 😁😁🥳
Actually, the Supernova 2 is pretty good for me. Been running 800K+ on it and it still feels like new but but losing lil bit of bouncy feeling. But it's a pretty good shoe for me. However this new version is gonna be a better shoe i think.
Finally an Adidas daily trainer that fits me. I absolutely love this Supernova Rise. It doesn't have my red flags (narrow toe box, slippery outsole, ill-fitting arch, unstable heel). The midsole foam has the perfect mix of softness and firmess that I am really looking for. I highly recommend this one.
Hey Ko big fan of your content! Just wanted to shout out the in depth comparison/ competitors section at the end of your reviews, great for showcasing what's out there and checking out those reviews too. Cheers.
The adidas supernova 2 is my favorite shoe of 2023 year. As someone who works at fleet feet it’s a top 4 daily trainer in my opinion. I’m on my 6th pair and they last me about 250-300 miles. The supernova 2 is really smooth, bouncy and responsive is great for longer runs, tempo runs and easy runs as well. Reminds me of a hybrid between an older Pegasus and freedom 2 combination. It also had a very stable heel and Midfoot with the wider base and boost in the back. It’s a lot better than 80% of shoes in the market for me and it’s consistently under 100 dollars. The combination between the bounce and boost is just money I didn’t love the supernova 3 as it’s a bit more unstable and softer. Which is theory is good, but for my foot wasn’t great. For 50-100 dollar I can’t recommend the supernova 2 enough.
Adidas sure has come a long way, not gonna lie i pretty much thought they were dead as a shoe brand a few years ago and now ive bought the Pro 3 and Takumi and like them both.> Glad to see them on the rebound.
Top Empfehlung 👍
Hi Mike. It was nice to meet you in person at Adidas event in Austin (I was the one that came to the event with my older Supernova Boost which I ran my first marathon). I had really high hopes for this shoe before the run but I am a bit disappointed. It is overly plush and I didn't get much of a bounce back and energy return from this shoe. Perhaps the EVA rods etc. is nerfing the shoe. If DreamStrike+ is PEBA based I didn't get the same bounce like in Endorphin Speed 1/2/3, Mach X or Deviate Nitro 2. Maybe it's my gait. I do increase speed primarily by turning over rather than increasing step length (as much) and perhaps the weight of the shoe didn't do favors for me but still lack of bounce for me was noticeable. Maybe, I needed more than a few miles to really test the shoe. It might need some breaking in. As it is, it is an easy day shoe only. Still, the shoe looks very cool. I might get a pair for causal wear and perhaps as a gym shoe (and to run a few miles on the treadmill). I am hoping that other members of the Supernova family coming up will change my mind.
Agreed, I would love a comparison to the SL. I ended up getting the SL after kofuzi raving about it and I like it well enough, but it could be a little softer.
I ran 200km+ with the SL and I'm going to buy another pair when the current one reach 500km. A comparison between the SL & Supernova Rise would be great :D
After finish watched this review, now I'm confused which one should I go for either the Asics Novablast 4 or Adidas Supernova Rise since Hoka Clifton 9 is part of my rotation for recovery run. But yeah, you are right need it to test it out at running store absolutely.
Adidas is on the rise! Never thought I would go back to Adi, especially after getting a heel injury with the Boston 10. Went full Nike (Alphafly/Zoomfly/Infinty run combo) after that. Lately got the Adios pro3 on sale... I felt the magic. Went to try the Boston 12... now I'm back with Adi with a rotation of AP3/B12 and Cloudsurfer 7. I wonder if the Supernova Rise can be a good replacement to the Cloudsurfer? Great vid and inputs as always @Kofuzi
Is the midsole similar to the New Balance Propel v4 or Skechers Razor 4? Looks like a fun shoe but at $140 US, it might be on the higher price point (though still competitive) compared to a few other solid options.
Very excited about this shoe, I am on the "I like the Boston 12" bandwagon. 1 Question, will one be able to do 20/30km lonruns in the Rise? I went to fit the 1080 v13 and it feels really big/boat like. Been running in the Novablast 3, but does not excite me (personal preference). Thanks for a great review.
Great review, as usual, thank you! In the dampened/stable vs. poppier/unstable spectrum where would you place the On Cloudsurfer 7 with respect to the Supernova Rise? I have run 600+ km in Novablast 3 and I still find it to be a bit unstable for me
Gosh this must be a totally different shoe ´cause I have the latest Supernova to use at the gym, they’re very light and ok to warm up on the treadmill for 20min but I would never wanna actually go running in them!!
Thanks for the review! Ridiculously excited for this shoe. Once upon a time the Supernova was my favorite running shoe. How would you say this compares to the Boston 12? I’ve enjoyed that shoe. Haven’t tried the Takumi Sen 9 (yet).
The Supernova line was my go to everyday shoe for years until the Prime X came along. Now they feel way to thin in the forefoot. I was hoping that maybe this shoe would put a few more mills in the forefoot but it still looks rather paltry in comparison to other competitors offerings. Id like to see how they feel on foot...
I started running in the Glide Boost Supernova when they first came out and loved them. I recently found The Supernova Plus for $34 and had to try it. The Plus just feels flat and heavy. If you are familiar of either of those two, how does the new one compare? I want to like them just because the old ones were so good for me.
I saw you wear this on the Berlin Marathon Runners' weekend. Just got it today for 40 USD( 50% off plus vouchers). Couldn't' say no to that deal. Though my rotation just became more confusing since I also have the Novablast 4.
Great review as always 🥰 years ago I used the Adidas Supernova for my daily runs, but now as there are so many other exciting shoes out there.. but tbh too much structure, stability and the weight 🤷🏼♀makes this model kind of boring to me
Ouch $140, my Boston 12s that I bought here in China were more than $40 USD cheaper than that. That said, I'll be keeping my eye out for these. The Adizero SL have been decent, but the padding on the inside has quickly started to wear out and develop holes. The slightly softer foam sounds nice though, and the larger toe box, as the SL is just a bit small at the front. It's a shame that they continue to not use the Continental rubber, especially given the price you Americans are paying. Thanks for the review.
I've been running in Nike Infinity Run 2 & 3s and been looking for a replacement since its been getting harder to find em on sale, and I enjoyed the "neutral stability" aspect of the shoe. Bought this shoe and I think I struck gold again AND ITS CHEAP as heck
Adidas may not have the best performing shoe line in the market, but their shoes are always competitively priced and they go on sale waaaaaaaaay more times than their competitors-- at least here in the Asia Pacific. Well, excluding football (soccer for the americans) boots and the Adidas Original line, everything goes on sale fast with Adidas. Glad that they are slowly ramping up the performance aspect of their shoes recently
Thanks K! Smart that they didn’t make it more $$ than the Novablast. 👍 Haven’t tried the Novablast 4 but just got the 3 on sale and I love it! The Rise sounds interesting. Am so over the Clifton and $165 for the 1080 is a little pricey. 😞
these days, most of us probably buy running shoes only during sale lmao. standard retail price for most of the daily trainer in the market right now is just too high to buy at full price
I spent a long time avoiding discussing pricing because it varies so much over time and by region. And while I recognize that it is a relevant consideration for purchases (which is why I discuss it now), it invites comments that tend to be tautologically unarguable, are boring, or just make people feel bad.
I’m quite disappointed, though is supernova closer to 1080 than two Saucony tempus? According to description tempus is the closest comparison, isn’t it?
This shoe may work very well for me. That back heal is always a scuff issue for me. Not constantly. Just every now and again, i scuff. Right more than left.
Not sure why but something about the look/style of Adidas running shoes has kept me away and the energy rods haven’t been of much interest to me. I worry about feeling the rods at some point later in the life of the sole. This might be a good one to give a try.
Just the video I was looking for. Want a new daily was looking at the SL due to deals, but it sounds like Supernova Rise is what fits my needs though. Might still have to get the SL due to it being so much cheaper.
SL would be more versatile, since it’s more nimble it can handle intervals and tempo runs much better. However Supernova Rise would be more comfortable for your legs I suppose.
@kofuzi When people talk about daily trainers, what do they actually mean? Are they good for different types of runs? To me, daily is the bulk of the work.....slow easy aerobic miles. Are daily trainers suitable for that? E.g My Adizero SL is a daily trainer/tempo shoe, but over a 25-30km distance easy pace, my feet get tired (the shoes are broken in). Are all shoes like that over that distance or do long run shoes really cater for that distance better?
A1. they mean a shoe you use for most of your daily running, which for endurance athletes is easy miles A2. yes, but in the same sense that a duck is pretty good and walking, pretty good at swimming, and pretty good at flying A3. yes. you have defined a daily trainer. A4(a). no A4(b). yes, but it depends on the type of long run
@@kofuzi okay thanks I will give these a try for work then. I tried the Saucony triumph 21s but I guess the stack height was too much for me because it gave me knee pain and the cushion was a little too firm for me especially since I’m skinny dude lol and the cushion didn’t give me since I weight like 138lbs.
Can I use this shoes for paced walking for 10000+ steps and for extensive walking at my workplace please. Your kind response will be immensely appreciated.
it depends on what you are looking for. if you want something a bit like a clifton, go with the supernova rise. if you want something that is a bit like a triumph, go with the ultraboost light
I don't know who they is. everyone tells me that "they" are saying it's peba based. I am not saying it's peba based I am not aware of any of my colleagues that are saying it's peba based Adidas is not telling me it's peba based
Hi Michael, great fan of your channel. Your opinion really matters for my shortlist of running shoes. We start seeing reviews of the Saucony Ride 17. Any chance we can see yours soon? Thanks
has this dude ever done a critical review? I'm just getting into running and all his reviews are positive about every single damn pair of shoes. I can't even wrap my head around on what really good shoes are like.
Kofuzi is the real deal and a trusted source of honest information. It’s difficult to choose where to start with so many good shoes on the market these days. Check out shoes of the year reviews and look for sales or the previous years model at discount prices. Only trial and error can really determine what works best for you. There are so many great shoes out there but only you can be the final judge. Good luck and have fun!
Have you considered that there are shoes I don’t review? There’s a lot of negativity on the internet. No one wants to hear me complain for ten minutes. Also, it’s a great time to be a runner. Not a lot of terrible shoes getting released (unless you’re shopping in the sub$50 range)
All the shoes on this channel are solid choices for someone. There really aren’t many bad ones out there these days just whether it fits what you’re going for or not. This info is all super helpful for someone who knows what they’re seeking in a shoe. As a newbie - get to your local running store and try them all (I mean all) on until you find the shoe that feels best to you.
I've been considering getting a new pair of dailies after 50Km on the Novablast 3s, they've been causing some discomfort on my feet and sometimes even my achilles, would these differ substantially from the NB3? or should I give the NB3 a few more runs to see if they improve?
it depends on what kind of experience you want. to oversimplify: if you want something more like a pegasus, get the Adizero SL2 if you want something more like a Clifton, get the Supernova Rise
Great to hear adidas has a daily shoe contender. As a runner in a developing country, adidas is one of the few brands you can reliably get on sale.
Here in France too, have picked all my Adidas shoes up around 1/2 price!! Pumas too!!
So true. Got the Puma Deviate Nitro 2 for 50% off. No way I am getting any Saucony or New Balance at that kind of sale if they are available at all.

Love my Takumi Sen 9.and Adios Pro 3. Got my PBs in 10K and Half Marathon in both.👍
I guess these could be a good alternative to the firmer more nimble SL. The solarglides are really heavy now. But they last forever.
I’m here because after running in trail shoes on show I tried my SLs in a southern country and they are soo firm, too much for daily running :(

I haven’t run in it since my 100 mile review, but if I recall correctly, I believe it further down the chart, past the supernova rise
I'm a bit confused...how does the Supernova positions itself against the Adidas SL ?
One way to look at them: They both the same type of shoe but for different runners.
Adizero SL for track athletes
Supernova Rise for marathoners
Looking forward to hear what you say about new Duramo series (Speed and SL) seeing as you already has your hands on them Ko!
I saw them at the popup in NYC. Not sure if I’ll get them in for testing though
How does the squishiness of the Dream Strike compare with the Fuel Cell foam that New Balance uses in their shoes?
Depends on the fuelcell shoe. FuelCell in the Propel v4 is a completely different thing than in the SC Elite
I wonder if they will substitute dreamstrike+ to the existing lightstrike 2.0 on to the boston shoe
Gosh this must be a totally different shoe ´cause I have the latest Supernova to use at the gym, they’re very light and ok to warm up on the treadmill for 20min but I would never wanna actually go running in them!!

I’m not really making vs videos anymore
Which better, the boston 12 or the supernova?
I have what seem to be philosophical differences with the Boston, but I’d take the Supernova any day
OK 100% gonna buy this one - I really like all that you are saying here!!!! (i will for sure buy the Novablast as well haha)

Hey Kofuzi can you do a episode on Adidas "Switch Fwd" and a comparison between ON "Eclipse" .
Hi, what brand are the reflective pants you're wearing in the intro?
Adidas
Can I use this shoes for paced walking for 10000+ steps and for extensive walking at my workplace please. Your kind response will be immensely appreciated.
yes, assuming there is no lifting involved
@kofuzi no lifting. Just brisk walking and property visits at my work
So novablast 4 over this?
why there is no comparison between sl and rise? just a mere mention??
They’re different shoes. They don’t fall under the category of competitors and they don’t fall under the category of complements
@@kofuzi but they both are daily trainer, right? Is it okay if one has 2 of them in his disposal?
Ko what about triumph 21? Is it comparable as well with this 4?
similar use cases. different experience
Supernova rise or ultraboost light ?
it depends on what you are looking for. if you want something a bit like a clifton, go with the supernova rise. if you want something that is a bit like a triumph, go with the ultraboost light
Thanks for another great in-depth review!! Sounds like Adidas might finally have a good daily trainer! 😁😁
This might be the most important shoe they release this year
please review the new altra fwd experience !!!
Correct me I am wrong but, they were saying that the midsole here is also PEBA based, right?
I don't know who they is.
everyone tells me that "they" are saying it's peba based.
I am not saying it's peba based
I am not aware of any of my colleagues that are saying it's peba based
Adidas is not telling me it's peba based
@@kofuzi Thanks for the clarification! And yeah, I haven't seen a confirmation that it is indeed Peba based.
they are gona have to significantly upgrade the boston for boston 13 or else it will just be obsolete compared to the supernova rise
some people really enjoy the Boston in the direction it seems to be heading.
I am not in that user group
😮 Bostons are one of my all-time favs ever since the 10!!
Not at all. They feel very different.
The shoe looks great! 💥 apart from that, seems a bit heavy for a daily trainer compared to what other brands are currently offering.
it could be due to first iteration of the foam. maybe next version could be lighter, hope so.
Hi Michael, great fan of your channel. Your opinion really matters for my shortlist of running shoes.
We start seeing reviews of the Saucony Ride 17. Any chance we can see yours soon? Thanks
I haven't received a pair yet
Daily trainers are becoming much more competitive
Now ASICS needs the Supernovablast.
No
SUPERNOVA RISE OR NOVABLUST 4?
Novablast 4 if you want more bouncy and wider toebox
has this dude ever done a critical review?
How's this compared to the Adizero SL?
I think of the Adizero SL as the Adidas daily trainer for track runners with the Supernova Rise as the daily trainer for road runners
Supernova or Pegasus 40 or NB 1080v12 ??
Can't decide
Novablast 4
I've been considering getting a new pair of dailies after 50Km on the Novablast 3s, they've been causing some discomfort on my feet and sometimes even my achilles, would these differ substantially from the NB3? or should I give the NB3 a few more runs to see if they improve?
The Novablast also cause lower calf pain for me on my left side. None of the other adidas or Nike range do.
Adizero sl2 or supernova rise ?
it depends on what kind of experience you want. to oversimplify:
if you want something more like a pegasus, get the Adizero SL2
if you want something more like a Clifton, get the Supernova Rise
How does it compare to supernova resolution?
I’m not familiar with that shoe
The Novablast is considerably narrower fit at the forefoot..and that’s the deal breaker for me
For the algo! Stellar as always
