When people ask me how I can work seven days a week alone milking my cows , I respond at the end of the day it's so much easier to wash the crap off me that is dumped on by those I work with than in an office. And it's cute ( not creepy) when one of them comes up behind and gives a friendly lick on the back of my head with their tongue 😛
its available outside of Aussieland now. I am watching via VPN from Singapore....used to study down under in Perth and went back to SG after graduation.
The most virtue signaling HR person is clearly the most racist 1:57 “You must have a lived experience of this Ash”. Such a great documentary of corporate/government today.
Public employee here, and 100%, it's far too close to my reality some days. Idiots we can't fire, people getting promotions who shouldn't, circular BS, HR that doesn't matter, stupid people.
I love the fact that Scott randomly joined the meeting where they are reviewing Tony's speech with Legal. No idea why he is there in the first place and then doesn't have Tony's back yet again 😂
I remember hearing a story of *Ray Martin* being interviewed, regarding the other Working Dog TV DocuDrama; *_FRONTLINE_* and Ray commenting along the lines of, "Is Frontline a 'comedy', because I didn't see anything funny in it..." - implying that FRONTLINE was more *_reality_* than _satire_ ... As someone who works in government, I feel every ounce of pain that Tony feels - because it's more 'reality' than _satire_ !!!
I have friends in government that all started watching it excited and talking about at work, and then after a few episodes hardly anyone could watch it anymore because it was simply too accurate, a documentary of their workplace. The ATO

Thanks for putting this on YT as I had never heard of the show even though its had 5 seasons and it is 100% exactly up my alley and makes me wonder what other gems YT is not showing me.
The American office? 9 season 201 episodes Utopia 5 seasons 40 episodes Very good chance it will become your favourite show because it has just as much of the stuff you love packed into 1/5 the time.
That introduction session gave me an anxiety attack. I was once in a similar session and i just wanted to say, Hi my name is mayank and I am an associate in this team. But everyone started reading out 30 sec essays about themselves.
#1 having rowed for a year in high school, I can say with absolute certainty that nobody would care that it’s exclusionary #2 rowing was originally done by slaves, so we should be happy that it’s done by upper class people
I never know whether to laugh or scream at these skits. So real life. And the sad part is, there are bureaucrats who think what they are doing is supporting communities when they are hindering progress. Sigh.
We could only manage two eps a sitting as it becomes really frustrating. I know the comedy is in the tension, but sometimes you just want to see them get some work actually done. The episode where they had to knock a completely viable and achievable plan on the head was kinda heartbreaking! Hilarious, but too close to home.
I love this show and wish we could get it here in the US. Everytime I watch these clips it makes me feel a little better that this type of ridiculousness in the workplace is not isolated to the US.
I love how they all are wearing formal suits and dresses and then they ruin it with these silly badges they are wearing all the time as if they didn't know each other.
I once misplaced mine and a customer had called in to complain. The customer was advised by a colleague that a person named ‘A’ would see them, I (D) saw them and they thought I was ‘A’ . Another colleague came in and addressed me as ‘D’ where after the customer demanded to see ‘A’ . Two people messed up and I took the brunt of the fallout. Name badges are the foundation of all self important organizations.
This is could easily be a factual documentary of our local council, they just misused all the welcome to country rubbish that they do at the beginning of every meeting, even when there’s only two people in the meeting. Ridiculous!
You don't have to worry about them long, the more annoying/time wasting, the quicker they are promoted to get rid of them...... (How management and reporting work number 15..................)
Which Utopia character would be the worst to work with? 🤦♂️
Pauline hanson
That management assistant. Worked with few and very stressful.
Beverly. Oh God, Beverly...

Just Tony!
"It felt like a lecture, but we've had it" might be my favourite line from the entire series!
Could apply to our entire national zeitgeist these days.
@@DiamondLil That is true.
I love seeing this halfway point between British response("we've had the discussion, thank you"), and American response ("it was a lecture; get out").
this and "who let HR in the building?"
@@Iztiak101 and "ten or fifteen manslaughters (as he walks out of office to HR)"
He doesn’t identify as an engineer! Classic
Too bad, this series is not available outside of Aussie-Land, they hit the nail with the HR-bull we all have to endure in companies around the globe!
its available outside of Aussieland now. I am watching via VPN from Singapore....used to study down under in Perth and went back to SG after graduation.
you're the reason there is a problem
On which service, Netflix?
@jamesdc9595 it's on an app called iview
Use VPN, I watch the entire series from Sabah, Malaysia.
Brilliant writing!
Where satire meets corporate PTSD 😂
Best description of the show.
I love / hate this show.... just like The Office. It's a bit too close to my work reality :(
Or crashes into some of your own personal experiences in the real world...which gives you PTSD :)
The most virtue signaling HR person is clearly the most racist 1:57 “You must have a lived experience of this Ash”. Such a great documentary of corporate/government today.
Infrastructure. cracked me up
Strange ain’t it how them trying not to be exclusionary or racist, they in fact end up being both
Ash has the best one liners.
"I'm Ash and I help... too"
That's literally me
The look on his face delivering that line is great
Best line: 'It will always be next year.'
Years ago the Atlanta Braves motto was "This Could Be The Year". It was brilliant. They used the same ads until the ink faded.
"And I'm Ash and I help... too." (3:05) Ah, we've found the one guy actually doing some work most of the time.
Both tools
My friend who works in government can't cope with watching the show - it's too accurate
It's very triggering. The circular conversations and waffle does it for me.
Yeah it's quite painful, but I can't help but watch, it's like a car crash.
Public employee here, and 100%, it's far too close to my reality some days.
Idiots we can't fire, people getting promotions who shouldn't, circular BS, HR that doesn't matter, stupid people.
Yeah i worked in another country and even i cant cope, it’s too much and too hard to watch
I think I have literally worked with all these people. Tony bellowing for help during Patrick's family photos was all too familiar...
“He said imagine” lol

Such great comedy! The only pain is the root in reality.
'Can I just have a couple of squares' 😄
These dry humour videos are brilliant. Especially the way they capture real life scenarios... in a way that highlights their absurdity!
I think "None taken" might be the best line on Australian television since John Clarke died.
Non native english speaker here, I can't catch what he is trying to say by that, would you mind explaining ?

2:48 the moment someone gives an intro like that you know they do fnck all. 😂
Perfect obsessed with appearance of caring instead of solving the root causes m, Only people worked in this environment know how accurate this is

If you like this you could try Yes Minister. Very accurate satire.
This is just gold!
I love it when they keep drilling down on this.
‘And I help…too’ 😂
Wow.
I've dealt with all of these in some way, and now I want to scream.
Carla's character is sooo on point. Rob looks better with a shaved head tho. This look adds years.
Honestly, this is Gold!
I was searching for Utopia the UK show and stumbled on this and I'm hooked. Damn it's hilarious
It’s amazing! 😂
Where have I been? This is GOLD!
fighting the good fight - thank you working dog

"None. Taken." Her racial attack is perfectly acceptable to her apparently.
2:05 loool XD love this guy 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm living aspects of this daily. Please help me. Is it laury or craugh? Cry laugh or laugh cry, or just a quiet sob in the corner?
Quiet sob accompanied by rhythmic head-bashing against the wall.
This is just super scary and I have no doubt it’s true..
0:58 One of my friends’ PhD supervisor was exactly like this (and she had not one, but three-3!- mobile phones). My friend dropped out.
I cannot laugh
This is not satire
This a perfect representation of my work life
It is too painful to watch
Fantastic
Its a real shame they don't force HR departments to watch this show, although I suspect the sarcasm would go over their heads.

DEI requires a full staff of "yes persons". It may be necessary to fire those who identify as engineers to make payroll.
One of the main reasons I took an early retirement from a public sector job...
> We apologise, due to rights restrictions this show is currently unavailable outside Australia.
Jim: Can I just have a couple squares?
“It felt like a lecture”. My thought any time I speak to a lefty ever.
To those who don’t work in the government sector, this show is too close to home and is frighteningly realistic.
Yes. THE RIGHT TRACK!

Queensland Australia is working on the digital licence :)
As someone who worked in local government this gives me hives.
Good stuff .love it and hate it because it's true.
I'm surprised there is no one from Auckland Transport in the comments.
Is that Helen Tudor-Fisk????
Yep.
Utopia is brilliant but how can I watch it in UK?
I want this in America!
HR human resources or human refuse?
What's with the Apple product placements? No one in Australia has an Android or Windows?

Probably Monique because she gives other people ideas so you can't just ignore her.
This is what happens when you create jobs that have no real work or function.
Does she think there are many mixed gender rowing teams out there?
If there are it's like mixed doubles in tennis. A specific combination mandated.
