You should really see this performed live at Hellfest 2022 , its amazing to see
Yes.
Absolutely!!! @lillyjanereacts, you really need to see it. Yes, she does that live, and the ending very much makes people cry. The Hellfest performance has a great example (that dude is my spirit animal).
Having seen and heard this be performed at Wembley last year, I'd argue that performance was even better. However, it wasn't officially recorded by the band so there's not really any way for me to prove it
100% agreed.
Planet Hell from Hell
Fest is fucking Fire🔥🔥🔥
Ghost Love Score with Floor singing . I watch alot of their concerts on You Tube over and over again and that song always brings tears to my eyes like Shoemaker.
I think the tragedy of Eugene Shoemaker isn’t that he died before his time, but that he was never able to do something he dreamed of and trained for. He was one of the candidates for the Apollo missions to the moon, but had to be disqualified because of a condition that made him unfit for space travel, Addison’s disease. Despite the setbacks, he still worked with the program and helped train those chosen to go, and became one of the leading authorities on lunar geology, and that’s why his ashes were sent to the moon. This song is a very fitting tribute to a man who dreamed of the stars.
That sounds eerily parallel to Deke Slayton's selection as one of the Mercury Seven, only to be grounded because of concerns over a minor heart condition. That's how he ended up as head of the Astronaut Office. Although, in Slayton's case, by the early seventies it was concluded that his heart condition posed no extra risk for space travel; and he flew as one of the NASA crew in the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.
Да не был никто на Луне
I saw this performed live in Chicago. It was amazing.
@Lilly Jane Reacts: When Nightwish made this song, they actually met the widow of Dr. Shoemaker, before she passed away herself. Not only did she love the song, but she even said that it was perhaps the most fitting tribute to her husband.
In my humble opinion, you can't receive better praise than that!
Do you have a source on that? I have searched for that info alot but never found any reference to it. I'm really interested to read about it.
That ending! I listen to “Sleeping Sun” a lot. I like to sing along to the high notes.
" the greatest show on earth" live from tampere, finland. it's an absolute masterpiece!!
This song, it's concept, construction and performance, is mind-numbingly beautiful. Let the tears flow, this level of outpouring of beauty and emotion often brings a person to tears.
Definately!
When I saw them live, this was the only song that brought me to tears. I was prepared though. I stuffed my pockets with tissues in preparation.
@@screwedagain1I saw them live last year when Floor was 5 months pregnant and I was sooo anticipating this finale. She nailed it. It's something you definitely have to witness live.
The spoken Romeo and Juliet quote was voiced by Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas' wife.
Love this.
song of myself live , tribal for me . NW never gets old..
I still tear up every time I listen to this. Floor is beyond words.
I listen always Sleeping Sun every Saturday for my wife who passed 13 years on. So easy 500 times on that. Dank und Gottes Segen..
If you want to see how this looks and sounds with Floor performing this live... you really need to check out the Hellfest 2022 sunset performance or the wonderful nighttime concert at the Deichbrand 2022 festival. Thank you for this.
Floor - How the hell do you want me sing this?
Tuomas - You'll find a way.
If you enjoy story style music try Ayreon, You'll hear many familiar voices.
"laudato si ad astra" praise him to the stars.
to really experience the song you MUST watch a Live video like the one from: Hellfest 2022. then you REALLY see and "experience" the song
Hi Lily Jane! The quote from Shakespeare was inscribed on Eugene's urn. The probe which took it to the moon landed near the south pole of the moon and near a crater that Eugene discovered and is named after him. At the end of the rehearsals of the Human Nature album Tuomas was not satisfied with the ending of this song so Floor took it home and she made the Laudato Si, Ad Astra part inspired by the chorus of the choir. And now, every time I see the moon, I think of this song and Eugene. Chills! Greetings from The Netherlands!
Very beautiful
Harvest is the song I put on repeat... Nice reaction...
Lovely reaction to a great song. One of my top 5 Nightwish songs. This is probably the hardest song Floor has ever sung with the odd time signatures, rapid pitch changes and dense lyrics. Tuomas said he set out to challenge Floor, Marko, and Troy vocally on Human Nature and he succeeded. When the album first came out the band expressed the opinion that they might not be able to preform this live. They successfully did in the first virtual concert in 2021 and have since kept it in the setlist for their Human Nature tour. The lyric video is my favorite not only for the music but the epic visuals, especially at the end with Floor's equally epic operatic ending, but the live performances, especially from Hellfest and Deichbrand are stunning as well.
The quote from Romeo and Juliet that is spoken is taken from the inscription on the capsule that holds a portion of Shoemaker's ashes on the moon and was chosen by his wife who was a famous astronomer as well. It is read by Tuomas's wife, Johanna Kurkela, a famous Finnish pop/folk singer in her own right. She has a beautiful singing voice and is worth checking out either in her solo stuff or projects like Altamullan Road, Auri, or Eye of Melian. Auri is project with Tuomas and Troy that creates beautiful atmospheric, folky music. Some of my favorites are The Space Between, Desert Flower, and The Valley.
This song is not only a tribute to Mr. Shoemaker but an ode to human exploration and our need to push out into the Universe. Laudato Si Ad Astra is Latin for Praise to the Stars. I spent 15 years working in the field of Manned Space Flight and hope this song inspires others to continue that work.
try Endlessness from this album!
NW song on repeat? That's an easy one: "Nightwish - 7 Days To The Wolves (Live at Wembley Arena)". Not just for the song, but the whole performance. Funny enough, it started outside my top 5 but then steadily worked its way up to the unchallenged Nr.1 spot for me. Rewatchablity is unmatched. Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘
I agree. I was not initially as down for 7 Days, but grew on me and may be my favorite now, if such a thing is possible with NW.
"Wembley, let's go!"
@@NeilOosthuizen cue sound and visual of horses running (couldn't insert meme)
A pretty cool Nightwish song, especially given the background behind it.
I love this video their live version at Hellfest is stunning. Watching Floor sing that last part is amazing. I listen to Dead boys Poem for the full beauty of Floors vocals, Thank you for a great reaction 🤟
I don’t want to spam you with other suggestions however given how much you like Nightwish and based on the other bands you have been listening to you really ought to give EPICA a listen. Try the live version of ‘Once upon a nightmare’ and I am sure that you will have a whole new band and discography that you want to explore. Merry xmas LillyJane
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 well done
It really doesn't matter which Nightwish song you listen to. The best one ever is always the one you are listening to right now.
One of my favorite Nightwish songs; and one I don't think we're likely to hear live, is Endlessness, the last track on the first disc of this album.
Agreed. Second only to Shoemaker as my favorite song from Human Nature. My favorite Marko song.
Tuomas and Floor were not satisfied with the ending during rehearsals. In her home studio Floor tinkered with it, but once the choir was added, it became this true masterpiece. Tuomas was doubtful if this song could be done live. Floor convinced him however, that she could do it. And yes the several live performances of it since has proven this.
I was lucky enough to see and hear them play that song live twice in 2022, it was absolutely beautiful.
On Repeat? Ghost River live at Wacken 2013.❤🔥🤘
Nightwish on repeat? I listen to and watch the whole Live At Tampere 2015 concert when working out at the gym. I must play it twice a week on average and have done for the last year. It just blows me away.
My on repeat is Seven Days to the Wolves live at Wembley.
Nightwish songs on repeat? I’d have to go with Planet Hell. I love the heck out of that tune and all 3 singers all have great versions of it.
Hi LJ, greetings from UK
Seeing Floor performing this live to a metal crowd is amazing when you look at their faces, and when you see a side view of her singing the end part. Awesome!
There is another lyric video called 'Pan'. I have only seen one live performance on RUclips and that was a virtual concert. To be perfectly honest I prefer the lyric video. Maybe because it is so difficult to perform live it sounds better to my ears on the lyric video version 😉
Nightwish on repeat? Shudder before the beautiful (Wembley 2015), Nemo (Wembley 2015), The Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere 2015), Tribal (Official Live)
💜
Our Goddes Floor Jansen loves you too Lilly Jane.
You want to know my favourite Nightwish song?
If we're talking album versions, it has to be Sleeping Sun.
If we're talking live performances, it has to be the big three : Ghost Love Score at Wacken in 2013; The Poet and the Pendulum from 2015 (I think that may have been at Wembley, but I'm not certain); and The Greatest Show on Earth at Tampere (but I can't remember the exact year).
This one is the song that I had "lately" on repeat. When the Human :||: Nature album came out, I was listening it again and again. But this song stood out for me the most. When I didn have time for listening multiple songs, I usually picked the Shoemaker. I got chills every single time when that ending hits hard. I love to listen to it at night in the car driwing through a city.
I was able to experience this song several times live, only a few meters away from Floor ... the end had something of a religious experience every time.
The one song for me is Dead Boys Poem!
Don't worry, your supposed to cry. You passed the test 👍
NIGHTWISH ON REPEAT: THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, LIVE AT WEMBLEY WITH THE E-BOW FROM TROY👍👍🤘🤘ALL DAY LONG
For me it's "The Islander", it's a slower more chill song but Marko's voice is just awesome.
I have a long time without listening to this song until your reaction video popped out on RUclips videos. Thanks for this reaction Lily Jane.
What a great tribute to a great man. Thank you for sharing Lilly!
My personal favorite is. 7 Days to The Wolves
One of the most beautiful songs of them, and Floor as an Angle❤
Love your enthusiasm for the music you review. Also, you dazzled with your science knowledge on this one. "Matter cannot be created or destroyed" Nice.
That does something to you doesn't it! Still does time after time ❤
and they do it live just magnificent
Laudato Si -Praise be to you. Ad Astra - to the stars.
You asked what song is the one..
7 days to the wolves is the one for me..i cant fully explain why and it doesnt matter. It just is.
Thx for great reactions and Merry christmas and Happy new year ❤
Another Band You Should Check out is Amon Amarth with the Song Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags.
Will give ya 2.
Nightwish Song Music &
Hellfest 2022 Planet Hell
Another good one.
Agreed, nightwish is awesome!
Lilly Jane love your reactions, I am a living fossil who fell in love with NIGHTWISH when I found their imaginaerum CD at the library that and dark chest of wonders are my two favorites followed closely by endless forms most beautiful but I love listening to WEAK FANTASY on continuous play that song punps me up and the vocal interplay between Marko and floor is superlative.💚💚💚💚💚💚 Long live NIGHTWISH.
Songs on repeat, 7 Days to the Wolves (Wembley) and Ghost River (Wacken)
I love listening to beauty of the beast or double in the deep, dark ocean
Dear Lilly Floor has a powerful and an amazing voice! She is incredible
I love Nightwish, ever since I discovered them through reactions on youtube. One song in particular that I always look for on my spotify is "The Islander" from the album "Dark Passion Play" from the Annette era. You'll be in for a treat if you react to this one, I promise
For me it's Weak Fantasy, is one of the many songs that I play on repeat, that intro will pump you up.
Lilly, I'de like you to do a reaction to (The greatest show on earth) which I can't believe you've not yet seen.
Lilly Jane....this song, Shoemaker, is one of my favorites that I can listen to multiple times in a row. It's so beautiful! ( Personal Note) My late Father worked from time time time with NASA, as he was one of the top Telemetry Experts in the Defense Department.
My absolute favorite Nightwish songs are:
Elan
While Your Lips Are Still Red....( I miss Marko! )
7 Days to The Wolves
The Poet and The Pendulum
Good one, but you should do the HellFest 2022 version, live with a crowd is always better.
NightWish Army Wisconsin Chapter here. Absolutely LOVE this Musical Composition. Loved your reaction!!! My NightWish “repeat” song is Storytime! ❤️🤘
i love how all the reactors are confused by the syncopation 😀
Gracias ❤️Lilly❤
Ad Astra by Nightwish would be a great follow up. Official video explains Nightwish don't just talk a good game. They put their money where mouth is.
On repeat - Yours is and Empty Hope. A song aimed at internet trolls - Great message and always great watching reactors suddenly work out who is growling . Next would be watching Floor and Simone Simons (Epica Retrospect - 10th Anniversary (Live) ) singing Stabat Mater Dolorosa - Gregorian hym sung at a metal concert - awesome
Always a good reaction, but I think you must react to Nightwish live! Only saying 🏴
Hey LJ. The perfect thing about NW is, there is always more than one song on repeat ❤. I am still hoping you will react to EPICA the 2nd unbelievable Symphonic Metal Band next to Nightwish. You will love it. Perfect one to start is EPICA feat Apocalyptica Rivers live frim AFAS or with Beyond the Matrix live from Zenith. 🎉😊😂❤
Lilly I saw your reaction at the start of Laudato Si (and you can understand why one of our friends uses the screen name Laudato si ad Astra).
People are recommending you the Hellfest 2022 version and that sunset setting is perfect, but if you found the Laudato Si moving, watch the outro at Hellfest 2022 as well
It is the AdvAstra (final) section of disc 2 of the H:N album. There is a blackout on video for 1 minute but its just when they are taking bows.
There is a spoken oart that is taken from Carl Sagan and is superb, but when the video comes back and the boys line up, then Floir steps up to the microphone and...
Well, I'll just say the first time I saw this I literally had to grip the arms of my chair to stop myself falling off .
Watch it, you wont regret it
Tribal live is great
Great reaction. This is my favorite song from this album.
🤩👍💥💯🎼
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
I kind of have a trifecta favorite. I have to listen to all three at once. 1. Story Time 2. Dark Chest of Wonder 3. Shudder Before the Beautiful i also absolutely love Song of Myself. I could go on though.
Only Tuomas could have written that and only Floor could have brought it to life!🤘🎸
Love Nightwish.. Among my absolute favorits.. Wishmaster is their best imo..
But hey, you should check out a Danish band called "Dizzy mizz Lizzy".. Many awesome songs, but my favorite "Silverflame" --- Nothing less than a pice of art..
Or "Sort Sol - Let you'r fingers do the walking". Whew..
Love your channel, and your insights, keep it up..❤
The ONE I listen to on repeat??? There are two. Well, way more than that 🤣
But the two most “repeated repeats” are Shoemaker and Alpenglow.
Thank you for doing the newer Nightwish stuff! Tuomas finally has the voice he always wanted to write for!
Thx Lilly !! The music part there makes me feel like I’m flying through the asteroid belt, I’ll go with Shudder Before the Beautiful live at Wembley or Sahara live in Tampa Floorida for a smaller venue in USA or ….. never mind , I can’t decide 😅🤘🏼💥🤘🏼
Still waiting for the windmill with your beautiful hair !!😊
On repeat? Pretty much everything. But single songs are sometimes played more than others, right now I have "Endlessness", "Weak fantasy" and "10th man down" being listened to most, I think. 😊
Now do it Live
🐇
i would recommend these two songs and i like this one too but these are good as it is from their newest record

I pick Greatest show on earth. It's longer than my trip to the work.
Tickled the heart strings a bit eh?
While your lips are still red.. wembley.. it just hits deep..
Hi, how are you
Ask for NW-Song in repeat ? 🤔 All Live-Songs from Wacken, Tampere, B-Aires etc.. no song .. "Albums" 🤣
Please please do Bismarck by Sabaton you will not regret it
Have you ever listened to Arlo Guthrie?
He has some stuff you might like.
No I have not heard of him
Arlo Guthrie. B.1947. Son of Woody Guthrie who wrote This Land is Your Land." Folk and anti war ballads. This is an essential song. Published 1945. Woody wrote on his guitar 'this machine ki**s fascits.' This Land is your land should be our national anthem.
Arlo Guthrie provided vocals to "City of New Orleans" which is a great song. Also essential. Published 1972.
One of Nightwish's best songs... and they have a LOT of great ones 🤘🤘🔥🔥
'End of all hope' - the 1 Nightwish song I could listen on repeat. I could relate because I've been at the end of my rope more than once and have had to concede defeat so many times in my life... whether it be my health issues, unable to win over the women I love... ending up homeless... being in the dead end situation I am in...
Tuomas wrote it at a time when he was considering calling Nightwish quits because he had been through the wringer... the 2002 album 'Century Child' is one of my faves by Nightwish; it's a dark album lyrically w/ rays of hope.
Creature by Jelly Roll is a great song.
