Haha ! I had imagined that he was some sort of agent of a galactic confederation who had come to study the Earth but with very approximate data on Earth clothing. He is rather confused by what he sees and hears. 😄
Yes, straw hat man (as I've always referred to him) is an enigma.
Yes, the time traveler. To my knowledge it is the only song he appears in of the whole concert. Must zap back to his own time frame before the course of history is hopelessly altered! :)

Given his outfit, I'd say he's from the past when they had no metal music and/or live music shows.
I am 72 years old and this is one band I plan on seeing at the first opportunity. And to repeat a bumper sticker I once saw, " I'm old not dead".
Doing my best to get to Tons of Rock this year,yes to see Nightwish! My fav is Ever Dream although I love all the rest!

Lucky you. I just discovered them this February and found out that they were in Toronto last May. So disappointed, more so now after their recent sabbatical announcement. 😞
May 12th Chicago best show I've seen in my 57 years and I've been to more than I can freaking remember only about three thousand people no pyro was all about the music I will never forget it

I could write a paragraph of recommendations but I'll keep it to 5 lol. Yours is an empty hope live from Wembley. The poet and the pendulum live from wembley, the greatest show on earth live from tampere, end of all hope, and over the hills and far away.
You know it's a good song when you get secondhand goosebumps just from watching someone's reaction to it.

Always fun! My favourite, among the many, is "The Poet and The Pendulum" at Wembley. A musical journey through the mind of Tuomas, keyboards/composer/writer, during one of the most tumultuous times for Nightwish. Deep, touching, sad and ultimately hopeful! Floor Jansen's performance is awesome and the visuals.......!
Great song but she needs to hear more Nightwish before diving into that one or she won't get nearly the emotional impact of the song.

This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!!
Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch.
Awesome tune , although it is kind of a pop/Rockish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit".
Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this.

Ghost Love Score started my Nightwish journey and that epic song at the Wacken 2013 open air festival was and still is the best music i ever heard🔥🔥 I also love Romanticide & Ghost River a lot. But then again you can’t really go wrong with Nightwish, they always deliver.
The first song I ever heard, as with many people, was Ghost Love Score. The second song I listened to was this one, and was an immediate fan for life

Huge Nightwish Fan here and I have to say that so far you are the only person that has mentioned the Dude in the Hat in the audience that is just standing there. I love that you caught that and pointed it out!!!! As for other songs, there are SO many, pretty much anything from this concert it amazing but a few of my personal favorites are Romanticide, Ever Dream and I really think you would like Song of myself again same concert.

I have watched your face for all the nightwish songs now. in the beging you didnt now if you liked it or not so your smile went up and down and now when you have listen to floor a few songs you smile almost al the time, i can get you 2 tricky ones ever dream and the poet and the pendulam. Hy Lilly. Good job finding out our time traveller. Now you made me wonder: is he a traveller from the past coming to the future, or is he from the future coming to the past? Guess we'll never know, right? As for my favourite song from Nightwish, I'll have to be honest and say all of them. There is no such thing as a bad song in their portfolio. Next stop, I'd advise Ever Dream. It's just another banger with a twist. Kind regards.

My favorite song, out of all of the songs Nightwish has done, is Yours Is An Empty Hope -- Nightwish Cruise.
The reason? Because you just heard how high Floor can go. In Yours Is An Empty Hope, you hear how low she can go -- by _growling._ Yes, you heard that right, our Valkyrie Floor goes from an operatic high, to a low, sustained growl.
Should you react to Yours Is An Empty Hope, the only thing I can tell you is that Marko, the bassist, also sings -- but in Yours Is An Empty Hope, you'll see Floor with the mic up to her mouth, but you'll only hear Marko singing. And believe me, the first time I heard Floor growl, my mind was _blown._ 🤯 I had no idea Floor could go that low, and be that consistent with the vocal pressure. And her growling is a testament to how healthy Floor sings, and how much she takes care of her voice.

That guy maybe from Amish folk in Germany. I believe Wacken is in a rural part of Germany which specializes in cattle. There may be Amish settlements nearby.
Poet in the pendulum, the greatest show on Earth, while your lips are still red really just watched the whole live album from Wembley. All of them are good.
Favorite? No way I can choose one. At the end of every song from this performance I feel like I need a cigarette, and I quit smoking years ago. The guy with the hat is one of several (about 1 per 100 people I'd guess), but the only one caught on camera. He's one of the health/safety team and they're very serious. I saw quite a few as they were interspersed (I was at this concert).

What's my favorite Nightwish song? Yes. Seriously, I've been a fan since I first heard them 20 years ago, and they don't have a single bad song. Even their earliest stuff from Angels Fall First is amazing.

The infamous "Yellow hat - Man" is on a good trip or the other option is this famous theory he's a time traveler from Lynyrd Skynyrd concert in 1976 and dropped down in Wacken Open Air 2013 to experience some other awesomeness of music.

The weird guy in the hat is probably the only Anette fan who didn't get the memo that Nightwish had an new incredible singer and refused to be entertained. As for personal favourite at this concert it would be Song of Myself followed by the opener Dark Chest of Wonders. Really no bad songs since Floor started to sing them. Plus so many more great songs and concerts subsequently.
