I have a friend who owns one. Same 1989 model in white with a blue interior. Has a AM/FM radio with cassette player, bucket seats with console, rear defogger, Rallye wheels, 2.8 V6, power windows, power door locks, rear trunk release.
The car is a Québec built car. The 1988-1990 models were built at Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec just outside of Montréal. Just one change, rear mounted combination lap & shoulder belt.

My parents bought a brand new maroon Chevy Celebrity 2.8 liter V6. I miss that car. As a teenager I drove it to high school. That trunk lid was the perfect seat for my best friend and I many late nights just hanging out in high school enjoying our neighborhood around 1986 - 1988.
Sounds like some really good fun times for Sure . I wish I still had my 85 Chevy Celebrity CL model but I lost that in a garage fire in 2017-2018
Get it! Even has the Celebrity name badges still on the front fenders with the Eurosport rally wheels. This model would look sharp with the 85 front clip. Reminds me and even sounds much like the one you originally had that was lost! Can't wait to see you have it all fixed up nice again. Great find for $600 as these cars are rare
Yes it actually does I agree. Weird cause yeah the exhaust note an how much air from that exhaust is violent . Cause my 87 doesn't push that much air from it an could be cause I installed a single in dual out muffler from a Pontiac 6000 . I like the dual exhaust look but ehh doesn't have that exhaust note like others or like this car an I definitely wanna add a resonator who are the original cat used to be to help tone the sound down some .

Yes I would agree my self . They are more of a cool slick design more than the 82-86 models and I liked the dual headlights on the older ones but this like I said is more slick looking and don't resemble that old man car look

Tight enough till snug an tight just be careful. U should be able to Google the torque specs for that tho
So we determined there is a coolant leak. Have had issues with with Dex Kool.. intake was removed because of coolant leak. Shop tried to recondition. Sent to machine shop and they could not clear oil journals. Got another from junk yard after work it was usable. All sensors etc replaced.Have had to replace freeze plugs. After all this, all coolant connections on intake looked like they we’re leaking. Kind of gray residue. Shop said Teflon tape on connections were failing.When I got Blazer to shop to look for oil leak, they said no oil leak, but coolant showing around flywheel and cover. Do you think all this is related to Dex Kool? Should I try flush , try some Stop Leak and refill? What coolant would you recommend? What’s in it is green so I assume it’s Dex Kool. Responses have been all over the board
No these shouldn't have any Dex-Cool coolant caus ethey didn't use that in these back then . These ran green coolant only not the orange junk , but if radiator is nasty or full of junk flush that out but if was me woth all issues you are having I would've installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge an been done with it . Same as for temp too just in case
Soo the intake gaskets was replaced then ?
Yes after we got an intake to replace the one Dex Kool destroyed. We couldn’t find a new one. Edlebrock had a replacement, but I didn’t want to spend $400. Found a used one and had shop ‘recondition’ to make sure oil journals were clear.

I found 2 articles that said Blazes do I’d come withbDex Kool. Mine is green, but since both are green, unsurute
I've got a 87 celebrity 57k og miles one owner. that's sat since 06 that I can only get started off starting fluid but when it starts it stays running if I keep the idle high at like 1k for a min or twoI put a new battery and fuel filter. it'll stay running unless I put it in gear which then I got to pumpthe gas to keep it running or it'll die. Any idea what's going on? Weak battery? Bad plugs?
Few things , vacuum leaks , bad or dirty IAC Valve . If it has a mass aor flow sensor like mine well that can cause problems too . It can be dirty or going out if u clean that sensor to can only use mass air flow sensor cleaner NOTHING ELSE .
Did you change tank or clean it or drain the old fuel that will gum up so much if not done first and yes good you did fuel filter replacement
Like to see video of it doing this and that could help a bit
The writing on the engine almost makes it look like it has been engine swapped before with a junkyard engine.
Yeah I know an it's hard to make out of what the writing says on it . I'm really curious of that
Sounds like you should watch it idle at night.... the wires are shot....
Yeah the wires are new but it was misfireing before I touched the one plug wire that broke . But i have a better quality set for it
@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 also check out the coils at night... they could have a hairline crack
@@Rev.RatsRides yes I've had that happen on these . So common for the cracking from the heat I've replaced so many of these on the celebs an others that share same set up
