- 👋 Check out the all new 2023 BMW X1 xDrive 28i. This is one of BMW's smallest SUV's and the new 2023 X1 is impressive! At around $40,000 I was very surprised with the way it drove and how the new X1 looks. The Mineral White Metallic looks nice on the 2023 X1 and the black perforated sensatec leather for the 2023 X3 interior matched well. I like how the turbo engine packs a good punch and really gets the new 2023 X3 up to speed. The interior is well sized and very usable. The ride quality in the 2023 BMW X1 felt like a BMW, it was smooth and refined. Comparing this to the 2023 X2, the X2 is way old and outdated and a piece of junk. This new 2023 X1 is actually a nice car and for a good price. I love the new screen setup in the X1 with the new BMW graphics. Very easy to use and offers plenty of information. Overall I think the new 2023 BMW X1 xDrive 28i is a great affordable option from BMW and can't go wrong with this small sized SUV!

Good video. Does the side view mirror fold in? Is it a standard feature or does it only come with the connivence or premium package? I do not see a fold in button in your video where you have the power adjustable button for side mirror.

In Europe, we don’t get the xDrive28i. We get the xDrive23i with the same 2-litre turbo engine but with less power.
There is also gonna be an iX1 electric crossover coming to areas like Europe, South Africa, Mexico, Japan, Australia, Israel, etc. It won’t be sold in the US or Canada though.
Oh interesting. This is the basic engine BMW has in a lot of our US cars. iX1 would be cool to see

Great review. How firm is the ride and is the DCT rough and jerky at low speeds?
Transmission seemed nice and smooth. Ride quality is pretty good. Not quite as refined as an X3. But felt like a solid car overall

Were you able to test the stereo on the base model? Is it worth upgrading to the Harmon Kardon?
I did not test the audio in this model, but I have heard it before and it sounds fine to me! I don’t think I’d spend more but I don’t listen to music loud so for me the standard one is fine.
we dont get the 28i in Belgium (i guess Europe), the max engine is the 23i in BE
Nice looking car but still think they should have given the option to be able to select a classic dial gauge instead of only space ship options.
There’s three different layouts! Kind of similar so it would be cool to see a different configuration.
Can you feel when the auto stop and go kicks? I'm thinking of buying one and I'm afraid of that . I don't think all the modes activates it. Nice review
Feels like every other car that has it. Should be able to deactivate it with BimmerCode app tho

How does it compare to the Mazda cx5 turbo?
I haven’t driven one. But I bet they are similar in ways. But I’d assume based on other Mazda cars I’ve driven. The X1 will feel a bit more refined.
I just want to make sure does the passenger seat recline all the way back??
I mean it should recline like normal, but I don't believe it'll recline to flat. Most vehicles don't do that, but it might touch the back seat, I didn't try that.
how do you feel about the regular seats? are they comfortable?
I had no issues. Nice place to be and I could see driving it long distance

Don't know whether you still need the info but I took a test drive with the X1 with both the sport and normal seats. Comfort wise I liked the normal seats. Bit more roomy. Driving wise the sport seats hug you nice in place for tight corners and such. However I suspect that 95% of X1 drivers don't go anywhere near the limit ;). I chose the standard seats for my X1.
If you had a choice between a telluride an the x1 what would you go with ?
Depends if you need the third row or not! I’d get the Kia over an X1, but I’d buy an X5 over the Kia!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I actually don’t really need the 3rd row. But the Kia seems to have more features for the money. But the X1 is still intriguing.
Those climate controls embedded in the screen and lack of idrive controller breaks the deal
The cool feature about them is they are fixed so you don’t have to search for them, they always stay up!
It won’t come up with sunroof or moonroof? What is the base variant model name which comes with sunroof/moonroof ?
Don’t think an X1 offers one, an X3 does.

While it was definitely refined, it didn't drive like a BMW to me...what happened to ultimate driving machine? this drives like a generic SUV. The previous x1 and current x2 may be a little rough around the edges but they are fun to drive , nimble, agile and easy to toss around. Wouldn't you agree?
I will say the X2 is garbage Feels like a cheap Honda. This felt nice for the price tag and looking at a Toyota or Honda for the same price. This felt refined and sporty. This felt like a big step up from the 2023 X2 I recently filmed.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I have an X2 and it definitely doesn’t drive or feel like a Honda. 🙄 I also have 2 Touring CRVs and a Passport in my driveway. The X2 is most definitely more fun and more well made. I will say… some of the decisions on interior finishes on the 18-22 design were questionable for BMW. I really like the look of this new X1, but I don’t like the removal of the shifter….

Not too sure. But the engine in this seems pretty solid and is commonly used. I'd trust it
German cars are famous for luxury not reliability..If you want reliability buy Toyota or Lexus

I don’t like the idea of being locked out in the freezing rain like my Tesla friend. I’m on the Maritime coast of Canada - it’s something to consider.
@@travelport7868 These are way better than the Tesla design, you can at least grab the actual handle on this bmw, it just has the flush design. They won’t freeze like the Tesla can.
Exhaust pipes??????!!!!! What is this a Honda? Whoever made the decision to omit exhaust pipes from any BMW should be axed immediately.
Well they are just hiding the pipe like a lot of Euro cars are doing. Only the performance trims are really getting visible tips it seems
BMW has stated they expect 66% of the sales of the X1 to be the electric variant. It makes sense to have uniformity and probably makes it cheaper just to have one bumper.
But this is not available in the US. I have however noticed that the US gets plenty of them in the ugliest 18” wheel povvo spec

What? I didn’t watch a video, I was in the car filming lol…it’s not a ton of space but enough for some items you might have for the day. Glove box is larger obviously for bigger items..

The new design of the gear shifter sucks, it's easier to use a traditional knob instead. And what is so good about the center air vent at the front row? It's better for it to be split into two, one directed to the driver and another one directed to the front passenger. I am not denying that there are good features but you talk as if everything about the X1 is nice, you are either a BMW employee or you're paid by them to market this car.
My opinion of the car is just like your opinion. What you don’t like, are things that I do like, nothing wrong with that. The shifter is so easy to use, that won’t stop someone from buying it and with the air vents, the driver and passenger each have one, so just like you stated they should be, they are. I’m neither an employee or getting paid for it, just an opinion and I don’t see anything wrong with either.
