Animal foods are pro inflammatory and plant foods are anti inflammatory so as a UC sufferer I avoid meat, fish and dairy. My only medication is a very low dose non steroidal tablet and I have been symptom free for nine years.
The microbiome is sustained by fibre from plant foods so perhaps a gentle introduction to vegetable soups and fruit smoothies would be an option for Crohns patients.

I'm sorry but I have a question, you literally cut off red meat and fish, what can you use for alternatives ?

Lots of bad advice here, especially about eating bread (don't, the last thing you need is insoluble fiber scraping through your colon like sandpaper), and also about eating 5 meals throughout the day. Go see how people are finding a lot of healing with intermittent fasting. You need time for your gut to heal. Stop sending food through your bowels so often and give yourself time to heal from flares. Look into the carnivore diet, specific carb diet, low FODMAP etc. if you actually want to get better. This video is 5 years old but about 15 years out of date.

@@hrefu probably depends on who eat it. An organic sourdough bread would be right for people who suffer IBD during flares.

Definitely agree, for me what helps the most I always skip my breakfast because my stomach and guts are very sensitive, the first meal I eat is after lunch and the second meal is in the evening, but no later than 8. So I basically eat only 2 times per day, energy levels are normal.

I don’t know you but I’m 17 and I got diagnosed in 2020 and let me tell you it sure is a battle I was losing weight rapidly and I always found myself in the bathroom. At one point I dropped all the way down to 105. I was embarrassed but kept pushing. I’m now on iv treatments every month for the rest of my life but hey I gained weight and my confidence. I’m now learning what is good for me and what is not. I started going to the gym which helped a lot and damn I love it.
