Two very similarly priced cameras with very similar specifications, couldn't have more different strengths and weaknesses. I would recommend these cameras very differently depending on the needs to the creator, so choose accordingly. Enjoy!

By far the best camera comparison video I have seen on youtube !! Clearly outlines the pros and cons of each camera in a very objective manner. Thank you !
Literally the best camera review I've seen. I'm looking for a new camera for longer, in front of the camera, content creation. This was extremely informatively beneficial.
Your tests are really complete and real compared to many many other reviews. The information you produce and show is so useful.
Thank you Michael and cheers from Buenos Aires!
Thank you Diego!
Dude nice this is the best comparison I've seen. Not only review but side by side specific testing, and the colour science thing all very good to see and know. Thanks
I always enjoy these practical comparisons.
THERE ARE MANY videos out there but Michael's videos are really heartfelt.. I am a new subscriber, thanks for the informative content you present.
Outstanding! More helpful than you could ever know. Gratitude in bucket loads.
Not in the market for either camera, but watched the review because I like HOW you review. I like the use of repeatable tests
Thanks for the amazing test, Michael! As always, incredibly complete. The low light focusing test was impressive.
I got 8 for Fuji and 5 for Sony.
Very nice and detailed comparison. Thanks for your effort Michael.
Great test man. All the information is very usefull for me. Thank you so much.
Damn, damn, damn! I chose the Sony every time in the colour test. I still want the Fuji.
wow really? i chose the fuji every time. looks way sharper at the hair than the sony
Went Fuji 12 out of 13. Felt like lot of skin and hair details lost with the Sony too.
Another great and well balanced comparison As it should be. I wish more people online would be as meticulous as you are. Kudos.
Super professional camera test, big thanks to you.
Thanks so much for this. This was super informative and helpful. That's the first I've ever tried a "color science" test. Seems like I've a distinct preference for the Fuji. I've only recently come to appreciate this aspect of cameras with that particular test being really helpful in helping me understand more about the topic through simple side by side comparisons.
These test are awesome, they are unbiased and you can only lie to yourself with the answer
I love those test you make. I always watch them, even without any particular interest in the tested cameras :)
Thank you Momchil!
Great video, really enjoyed how you present
As usual very thorough and informative video , ty 🙏
Excellent comparison video! Thank you!
I am a Sony Guy, nothing against Fuji, i think they makes great cameras also, never owned a fuji, but your review helped my wife to buy the A6400. Thanks, Always Great reviews
this video is the best comparision ever made ! you make Great content keep it up
Man. Your a champion. Great review. Very deep. Not fluff BS. Thank you.
best comparison video on youtube for xt30 and a6400 awesome job
Thanks Michael. Another great video.
I'm 5 min in, had to stop to subscribe. This is the best comparison I've seen on RUclips. Your content is amazing. Now back to the video :)
Thank you Chris!
WOW, So Professional! Thank You For Your Hard Work!
Excellent test. Thank you. Very valuable in making our purchase decision.
Thanks, Michael for sharing this video. This is really helpful.
My pleasure! I’d like to do more
A very helpful comparison.. thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Hats off for this big comparison
thanks Micheal for this video......i have learned to USP now of my fuji-camera
Kudos ! Really thorough testing.
Epic explanation and test 🙏👏🏻
Excellent detailed review...well done
The best camera comparison video I have ever watched..I am going with the fuji xt30
Great job well done thanks for all the info.
One of the most objective and unbiased reviewers on this platform, the fact that you SHOW us what and how you test backs up everything you say, THIS IS CALLED EVIDENCE(facts that are plainly obvious to the general public) as opposed to others who bloviate about opinions, Thank you Michael! we need you now more than ever as we sort through the phony baloneys 💖
This is the most detailed head to head I've seen and I've seen them all. Very thorough and scientific. Great job!
1. For the color science test was it done in jpeg and what color simulation was used on both cameras? I'm guessing the default standard for Sony and Provia for Fuji.
2. With both camera makers touting their eye autofocus, I'd love to see an eye af test similar to the face af test in the future.
Excellent comparison Michael. The best. I was surprised that I got 11 out of 13 for XT30 on the Portrait test. I'm expecting that I'll gravitate towards the a6400.
Yes, I also got the same results. But I´d like to compare other subjects; landscape, nature, etc...
Excellent review! Factual, easy to understand, Interesting. I am very much inclined to buy a T30, that’s why I came here. 10-3 to XT30 in the blind test. :) This video helped a lot, thanks!
YOu absolutely rock! This was so informative. Came up with 10 out of 13 portrait pictures for fuji so will investigate how bad is overheat and probably get one if it is not to bad
What an excellent video, thank you.
Great comparison. Comprehensive testing methodology. Fujifilm FTW for my needs, though I could be happy with the Sony.
Man that test reallly heped me out i like both cameras but i thunk i made my descision.thank you
Awesome testing, Michael!
Thank you both! ☺️

Good Review! Thanks
I do not have these 2 cameras and will not get them. but this is a well-done test, with a lot of hard work put into it. Thank you for your work and I did learn a lot.
Amazing helpful video!
The color test was actually super helpful. I'm looking into these two and scored 11 for the fuji.
Michael, what a great test. Thank you so much. I took the color science preference test, and out of 13 I preferred the Fuji 11 times---and I was able to guess correctly 11 out of 13. IMO, Sony has a LONG way to go to match Canon, Fuji, and Nikon for skin tones.
Wow, very professional video. Congrats.
You are the best out of the rest when it comes to camera's 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome video! In the color science test I got 10 out of 13 for X-T30. I guess I know what camera I'm going for next.
Same here, only at 7., 8. and 9. I voted for Sony.
GREAT TEST!! :) THANKS!! my score 12/13 goes to X-T30. Now i know what i shoud buy!
Best test ever!
Great video! So the Fujifilm did really well in the autofocus tests. That's good to know! Many reviewers say that the fujifilm cameras dont have great autofocus but dont ha e real world tests like this. The X-t30 did very well againsf one of sony's best AF cameras. Thanks
Camera Conspiracies sent me here ! nice channel
Nice comparison. I will say that it would be helpful if you were consistent with which side you put a camera on. This would allow the viewer to focus more on the review instead of taking a second to reorientate from one segment to the other. There are some some other small critiques but I found this to be the most distracting element.
Great video!
Very well done... keep it up.
Awesome review! I’m going to likely need a new crop body and telephoto lens for wildlife later this year. I need a super sharp pro-level lens, though. Can Fuji hang with Sony in terms of lens
quality? I heard what you said about price, but I don’t want to let low cost draw my into a system which will disappoint me when it come to tack sharp images. I have wasted too much time and money with in that trap.
I love these shootouts so much! Could you do one with the ~$2k FF mirrorless cameras? (Z6, S1, A7iii, EOS R)
We could do one with the Z6 and Canon RP but I’ve heard there’s a bee Nikon in the works, so I guess I’ve been quietly waiting for that
The Sony A6400 is IMO the better solution for Wildlife - Action - Sport. And this is because of the superior Autofocus tracking of the Sony A6400. And also the lens selection is better for this application, the Sony 200-600mm I am using right simply rocks on the Sony A6400 bringing you to 900mm FOV at f/6.3. So together with a Sony A9 you get the best combo for Wildlife - Action - Sport - IMO. Fuji has nothing like this to offer. It is a decision on the ECO system you have to make.
In 2022, the position has changed.
@@robertcudlipp3426 In your twisted mind maybe 😂
You are a sad person putting troll type comments on a camera review site.
got 7 on Fujilm
6 on Sony , but i dont know why i want to buy the sony one, should i wait till december some know if price will drop?, Wich brand has more Lenses compatible and best prices?
Very informative, thank you! I am considering the XT3 or A7iii. To my surprise, I chose the Fuji for 12/13 images in the comparison test. Given that I pretty much always shoot RAW, do you think I would still notice that same difference between the RAW files from the XT3 and the A7iii? I know they are different cameras to those tested, but I would assume the Fuji and Sony processing is relatively consistent across their camera lines.
Very detailed and scientific opinions
On the Sony, try using a Wide focus area when tracking subjects.
Would be a good test, but I always use a single square to help DSLR shooters determine if they can use it the same way the do with their old cameras. Most sports shooters want to isolate which subject is being focused on
9 sony and 4 sony. And I will stil buy the fuji :O thanks for the video
Best review of autofocus and for the color test, i got 7 T30 v 6 A64, which made your point! Thanks, subscribed!
The overheating issues of Fujifilm cameras are such a problem for me. The short video cut-off is also a real concern . The appearance of the Fuji is gorgeous, but I can't buy a camera based on that! It's 2021 and I wonder if the Sony A6400 is still worth buying. I've been looking at the Fuji X-T4 but again the same problems, overheating, limited video time. Does anyone have any thoughts about this or recommendations or experience with these cameras? Great video btw, you put a mountain of effort put into this.
Epic Shootout!
Awesome video you make it easy for me to decide which one to buy. Just 1 question: What about in camera time lapse video, do they have this feature? I want a camera that is built in time lapse video. Man thanks for doing this video was awesome and better and precise than a tons out there, already subscribed to your Chanel 👍
Best comparison
Very helpful comparison, thanks! Can this test be attributed to the x-t3 also? And worm noise at 17:39, it's really interesting how it compares in capture one
I think that the "sports shooting" tracking test will report better results in "focus priority" AF mode.
Since we're talking interchangeable lenses here, I would take the Fuji due to the combination of lens quality and affordability.
@@cyzcyt I think Fuji cameras Standout when using there fast primes
Thank you!!
Would love to see a comaprison between X-T3 and M-5 III
Awesome comparison! I took the test - without pausing, and I scored 10 Fuji and 3 Sony. That is good since I had already just purchased the Fujifilm X-T30 :). Thanks for your killer videos!
For the thermal test, did you try the Fuji with the screen away from the body? Interested if that would cool the Fuji down some.
Great video!! One question: between the A6400 and the fuji X-T30, what camera would you recommend me for video? (Time limit is no concern for me)
unbeatable video with thorough comparison and detailed explainations.
Very nice review Micheal, and I have to admit that you are so handsome
omg I just picked Fuji out of all 13 tests wow... might need to return a6400 now
i love the fuji pictures more too. but xt30 isn't weather sealed 6400 is. It makes this choice so hard.
Thanks micheal for great efforts you take to do this comparison .please tell is sony 6400 use slog in 4k recording ?or its only limited to only to 1080p videos. thanks
do you have a test of the fuji xt30 vs. sony A6600? I am coming from using the A711 which broke) and looking for a smaller camera.
Most portraits I chose turned out Sony (almost all of them). The Fuji were *yellow.* But this depends on many factors, WB being the major culprit here.
Hey I’m shooting a music video. I already have the a6500. Do you suggest I use that and invest into a high quality lenses?
17:38 Honestly, at this point I think the x-trans setup is hurting Fuji more than helping. I with they would dump it can go back to Bayer (like on their original X100, the X-A series and their medium format models). I say this as someone that enjoys Fuji cameras (X-T30 owners and several others before). Also x-trans makes the raw file size larger than bayer files on the disk and of course Lightroom doesn't handle the x-trans files as well and they're slower to load/export. Just dump the x-trans and keep everything else and they'll have an even bigger winner on their hands. 25:44 Absolutely. I kept telling myself I wasn't buying another Fuji camera, but here I am again with another one ;-) (Z7 is my primary though). Also I was really, really surprised and happy with how good the sensor is in the X-T30. I had the a6400 for a week and couldn't get along with it...sent it back and got the X-T30. I am VERY happy with my decision.
looks like lightroom, and lightroom and fuji are like water and fire
Hey Michael, thank you for the content you provide here. I am planning to buy a camera for portraits and landscape photography. I am confused with D7500, A6400 and X-T30, could you please help me out with selection? Right now all of them are at and about same price range.
Namaste sir, I'm so impressed by ur videos, you do very compact informative videos ..🙂 love from 🇮🇳🙏 .... sir any suggestions for canon m50 ☺️!
Excellent video- thanks for this. I'm torn. I much prefer the color science on the Fuji, but since I only want two lenses (one zoom, one prime for low light) the Sony has cheaper options. For the same price I could either get A) A6400 with the 18-135mm (great reviews for a zoom lens) and Sigma 16mm f/1.4, or B) X-T30 with 18-55 and 23mm f/2. I worry that I might miss the extra zoom for an all-around travel lens, and the aperture isn't as wide on the prime either.
There will be a 16-80 (24-120) from Fuji in September. Let's wait for the tests and decide afterwards. :-)
Hi! Is it normal that menu in Fuji X-T30 is a little bit laggy? Especially when using color profiles...
Im thinking of buying the xt30 with the XF 55-230 zoom for fast action photos of horse & rider over jumps (amateur only). Just wondering for focus, do other animal eyes get picked up under eye recognition? i usually aim square at rider mid section as horses are long and tricky to focus on. Ive tried to find blogs on equestrian photography & only found one that dissed mirrorless for too-slow tracking, in favour of a high end nikon dslr. Any feedback on whether you think the t30 could handle this job would be much apprec. currently using ancient old canon 30D & 70-200 zoom which gets me 1-2 in focus shots per jump only if im quick enough to follow action & start the press at precise right moment ! ty :)
After 10 mins of overheating on the xt30, how long does it take to cool off and is able to reshoot another 10 mins vid.
Great question. It's not so much the 10 mins that is a problem in most situations, as if you are planning on cutting and editing you probably have planned specific shots for specific times. But if you cannot record back to back shots for sustained amounts of time without it overheating, that's a problem.
Nice just what I was looking for. Still confused. I want a Funy or a Soji. I pretty much split down the middle with the portraits. I like both but I have an XT20. Got it cheap with kit lens. I really like the OOC jpegs of the Fuji. I also have the A7III and the Fuji is no match for that. But I wanted a replacement for the A6500 that I sold and Sony has been so slow coming out with the A6700/7000. So I got the Fuji during the sale that they had. I like how Fuji has these sales where they drop the prices of their cameras and lens. More Sony cameras coming out in the near future from what I hear so I am just waiting for now.
Wow, 6 sony and 7 fuji. Expected to like sony more.
I bought the xt20 and i was surprised how bad is the image quality compared to my old nikon D7100, and like you said, i was happy shooting with Fuji, there is something about it.
I want to buy the xt30 instead of a6400 but my mind is telling me not to. But i really miss the fujifilm experience.
.. I think the X-Trans are not good performers they lack detail and images appear like paintings when zoomed in.
Thank you for your efforts anyway.. And i d appreciate if you can say your opinion about the image quality. Thanks again :)
Would like to see canon rp vs xt30. Thinking about selling my Nikon kit and getting one of those with a kit zoom and keeping 28, 50, 100mm Nikon manual primes to use adapted
