Easter Egg Nr. 26: Hush & Scarecrow Team Up?
Inside Thomas Elliot's hideout is possible to see some canisters containing Scarecrow's fear toxin from Arkham Asylum - the same canisters that appear inside the room where you must save the third hostage of the Riddler.
If you look closely at the floor, you can notice also some feathers (many suggest that are crow feathers) and randomly some cockroaches will start roaming around the floor.
In addition to this, the unnatural light that filters in through the windows and the whisperings suggest a dreamlike atmosphere probably caused by the fear gas.
This is just pure speculation, but could Scarecrow be involved in the Hush's revenge against Bruce Wayne?

It all makes since because in Arkham asylum scarecrows face was ruined and in Arkham knight you can hear some thugs saying that back in the asylum killer croc messed up his face and that he had surgery and Thomas Elliot was a surgeon so he's the one who repaired his face while in Arkham city
Sick well worked out
Homeless Doggo yeah that didn’t happen
Senór Irish but you can see the scarecrow mask at THY arkham city
Homeless Doggo Thomas Elliot is a brain surgeon
Blu3 Aquario he also does work with faces because he recreated Bruce Wayne’s face.
This is great. Hush really should’ve been more important to Arkham Knight’s story instead of a random side quest that doesn’t affect the main plot in any way.
Yeah
scarecrow probably asked hush to make his face more scarier for arkham knight
well probably
That would be being torn apart by Killer Croc during the events of Arkham Asylum. If anything, Tommy Elliot did his best to fix it.
nz channel no it was killer croc attacking him
"If you are SCARED don't be afraid to CROW about it"

btw, the "DEAD END" sign is the one that hanged on Frank Boles' body in the Asylum's Intensive Treatment entrance, I'm just saying
I think the use of Hush looking like Bruce Wayne is for him to take revenge just on Bruce.
Hush helped Scarecrow by repairing his face (after Killer Croc probably chewed it off) and then Hush asked for some fear gas in return.
I doubt he would be the Arkham Knight, he's more likely to humiliate Bruce Wayne by locking Bruce up and masquerading as him than trying to kill him. He wants to make Bruce suffer.
Hey I know I'm late but the AK's Jason Todd

And what did this amount to in Arkham Knight? NOTHING! Way to go Rocksteady, you sure let me down.

This further convinces me that the Arkham Knight may very well be Hush. Scarecrow is the main villain of AK, and apparently the Arkham Knight works for Scarecrow. That, and Hush is obsessed with Bruce Wayne's personality, which Arkham Knight has a likeness towards in terms of his costume.
Dont forget azrael
True man
Also, does anyone notice Hush could've asked to team up for an exchange to fix his face. Anyone agree?
Veronica Rodriguez man you are so right ... it really makes perfect sense...
You have a very good argument, but miss a small fact: Rocksteady continues to ensure that the Arkham Knight is a completely original character, one made for this game.
I'm totally on board that Hush is going to be a HUGE part of Arkham Knight, here's my theory. Now keep in mind that this is a theory, so lets discuss and not resort immediately to ARGUING.
1. If you look up the Hush/Dr. Thomas Elliot origin story, you see that Hush is pledged to not only kill the batman, but also to destroy him in every way (his reputation/image?) And he is one of Batman's most formidable opponents according to the origin story and the comics.
2. If you play Arkham Asylum and you do some riddler hunting, you see that in one of the medical building walls, there is a medical staff schedule. Dr. Thomas Elliot is seen on staff.
3. The shoulder patches of the henchmen who are color connected to the Arkham Knight is the logo from arkham asylum. Now, this is just an arguable point, but another point to make here is the fact that Hush and Batman were childhood friends, Hush KNOWS Bruce in a lot of ways, including what Bruce's father was expecting of his son. So he could have even more blackmail on how to hurt Batman on more than a physical level, but to get into the mental/ultra personal game with Batman.
Also, to add to that really quick, if you ever look at the origin story of scarecrow and all of the interactions he has with Batman in the comic books and in the games/movies/tvshows, Batman NEVER does anything to Scarecrow besides thwarting his plans and whatnot, nothing out of the ordinary for Batman and his other enemy's. But HUSH, HE HAS A REASON to say that Batman has REALLY done something bad to him (referring to the origin story of Hush with his Parent's death and Bruce wayne's involvement, look it up, its really interesting), so in Hush's mind, Batman/Bruce wayne has a LOT to answer for.
1. If you know about the easter egg in Arkham City about the number stations via your cryptographic sequencer and the messages they give, two of the messages definitely give way to Scarecrow coming into the Arkham knight game, but one of the three the messages says "YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ME". Now, how that ties into Hush/Dr. Elliot, we're going back to the taped message journal in Hush's hideout in Arkham City, Hush specifically says, "He will suffer for what he has done to me" (regarding to the mistaken death of Thomas Elliot's parents).
2.in the the DC Encyclopedia,Scarecrow (aka Dr.Johnathan Crane) treated Hush (aka Thomas Elliot) from a youth camp incident and found his socipathic tendencies intriguing and hastened his release from said camp. And later in life,Scarecrow would become as one of Thomas's mentors as...Hush. SO what the heck! MAybe scarecrow and hush are working together against Batman as Mentor and student!
2.) In the DC Comics encyclopedia referencing older comics, Scarecrow sings "Hush, little baby" when he references Thomas Elliot. Now,connecting to Arkham City, in the ending credits section Harley's revenge she sings the very same song. The "Hush little baby" song plays a bigger part in the Gotham Universe comics than most ppl know about, it's of course being confused with the whole Harley being pregnant thing. But it is proven that both Riddler AND scarecrow acknowledge Hush in the comics by singing the "hush little baby" song. Now why would Harley be singing this song and why would she care about Hush in the first place? well, think of it like this, she is friends with a TON of the other crazy inmates of the arkham universe (intimate relationship with Poison Ivy, sending calendar man a birthday note (in arkham origins), knowing scarecrow personally, and she does actually CARE about the other characters in arkham universe as you would a good friend). And who knows, maybe Hush had something to do with a certain Joker-death coverup we have yet to discover :P (but thats a whole nother discussion).
WOW
Perhaps the dead joker wasn't him at all but a victim surgically altered by Hush
Sgt. Biz That...is...a very good observation. I applaud your efforts.
Nope
He had zero part. Take this L
In Harley's Revenge, if you go to the place where you found Scarecrows mask, it will not be there anymore!
Yeah he brought it with him to ace chemicals
In the Arkham Knight: Genesis comic it's revealed that Hush has been working with Jason for some time and even knows his real name. Jason saves Hush from Ratcatcher when Hush leaves Arkham City, and in Origins there are newspaper clippings referencing the Identity Thief meaning Hush has been active since before Origins. So at some point after Hush began killing and after Joker took over the Asylum and Jason escaped with Deathstroke, Jason allied with Hush maybe after he allied with Crane.
Hush and Scarecrow are definitely my favorite Villains.
what was in the mirror? all I saw was broken glass :D
Awesome vid, never realized that, you know there is something else that is suspicious, if you toward the boat where, scarecrow's up coming plan's are, you can hear these whispers like someone is laughing it makes the noise and it's silent then it goes again and again. It kinda freaked me out, and another thing suspicious is the "dead end"sign(coming from batman arkham asylum) is on the wall in Hush's room, I might be late but I needed to get that out of my system.
the whispers were kinda freaking me out
Hush and Scarecrow working together isn't a huge surprise. Wasn't Thomas Elliot a protege of Crane's in a story line?
This is such a great game. I bought the Nightwing bundle today.
The whole light glaring through the windows is actually a really good point, since it's completely dark outside. Though I think it's dark all the time in Gotham.
The music when batman is talking to hush sounds like it could possibly be some new scarecrow music.
wow, I really didn't noticed any of that, great find!!!
@DCman324 I think the thing you are on to is that when the facility was being designed, they trapped the prisoners with a type of force field, creating the illusion that wherever the prisoners looked, it would always be nighttime. But in Hush's HQ, the windows face outwards towards Gotham, because that's where Hush escapes to at the end of the mission, indicating daytime
Imagine if Scarecrow just popped up in the mirror when Batman was looking at it...
Hush and Scarecrow as the main villains would have been much better than the Batman: Arkham Knight we got
I can only imagine that the next DLC is getting the two roommates back together.
@MrShadowsifter
You didnt see the bit of light shyning through? like there was another room behind that window.
Could you please explain what were you trying to show in the part that you got really close to the mirror?, I didn't notice anything.
you can tell that scare crow is in there because you can hear him whispering like he did back in the arkham asylum that scene wear batman enters the morgue and he was repeatedly saying ''get out of here''! reminds me of that.
I often wonder how it would have turned out if dini continued working at rocksteady and fulfilled his vision for the final game
brother i think this everday
Hush was supposed to be a bigger villain in Arkham Knight, but another writer stepped in and changed that.
Paul Dini originally wanted Scarecrow and Hush to team up in Arkham knight but the game was rushed so he was reduced to a side character
For some reason when I saw the “this is just speculation” part, the first thing that went into my head was “SAME BAT-TIME, SAME BAT-CHANNEL!!!”
I just love how eerie this game is. Definitely not your typical superhero game, that's why I love the Batman games most of all.
@DrGonzo358 When i first went to the room after solving the crimes, i can hear the record player playing the instrumental to mockingbird a.k.a Hush little baby. also mocking bird was the code to get out of the room
I dont understand the mirror part,
Cansome explain :/
batman doesn't appear in the mirror.
Batman does not appear and it also glows
dude you are like a real life batman figuring this stuff out
The First Time I was in Hush's House I was like: This is so scary here! I want to get out!!!
@MrStarwarsdude101 Also you notice how the windows have tonnes of light, but it is always night time. Not to mention, if scarecrow was torn up by croc he would need someone to fix him up.
Also, Scarecrow was teamed up with Hush in Hush's first comic appearance. He's even responsible for the name, because he kept singing 'hush little baby' which is a song about a boy who couldn't be satisfied by his parents, parallel to Hush's story.
the toys that "hush" did surgery on were ones from crank industries hush must have gone to crank toys industry (which is in the game . which means further investigation at the facility may come to more evidence that they did team up.
in the phase number 4 of Catwoman, it is possible to see roaches going in the direction that there is a door to ghotam city, near the screen, in the safe of tyger
Scarecrow is my first favourite vilain and my second is Hush. I'm sure Hush will be in the next one but if he team's up with Scarecrow... That's it Arkham Knight is officially my first most anticipate game for 2015.
Kinda think that the identity thief killed scarecrow because his mask is near his hide out possibly suggesting that he has been, or has given up, and that the identity thief stole the gas to perhaps try and reduce the pain of the surgery, as an added note there was a hand in the cupboard at 3:30 .
I don't think, fear gas can reduce pain. Maybe, make pain stronger?
I personally am a huge fan of Scarecrow and I'm glad there are so many easter eggs referencing him in this game. I will seriously be pissed if he isn't in the next game.
BATMAN ARKHAM CITY IS A HELL OF A GAME
thanks for reminding me i totally forgot about that
You can Also see scarecrows hand in a jar in the hideout from when croc ripped it off.
I figured out the same thing when i got to Hush's hideout. I wonder if the plot in the next game will center around them.
I never heard the whispering before this. Freaks me out.
I think he was trying to get a better look at the Scarecrow canisters. I barely saw him trying to view them. Maybe he thought there was a better view from the mirror at a different angle? You can tell if you watch it again.
I've noticed something else: at 3:33 you can see someone's arm in a jar (It's strange, even because - why would Hush needed someone's arm? ).As i remember , in Arkham Asylum , Scarecrow's left arm was bandaged just like this one? Maybe Croc had eaten his left arm and now Hush's got him a new one?
Pure speculation, but with all the links to scarecrow throughout as easter eggs, is it possible that the whole ending (Joker being dead) could actually all just be inside Batman's mind, or just sections of the storyline?... This would enable them to bring back the Joker somehow for future games...Thoughts?
I think this is the "bargaining" stage of grief. It will pass.
The feathers were from the macaroni can
Joker and Riddler are(/were) in the mix, too:
-Harley singing "hush little baby" + the crib in Hush's hideout
-Fear gas canisters in one of the Riddler deathtraps; Joker helped him with building the traps.
I believe that the whole villains being united thing in AK isn't just something that Joker's death caused, I can see Scarecrow, Hush and Riddler forming the main alliance, the rest COULD be just disposable tools for them.
It is possible that the feathers seen in the video are actually related to Hush instead. In the song that he gets his name from, the first few lines refer to a mockingbird, so those may be mockingbird feathers.
you should look into the audio files and see what the whispers are saying. I don't at PC so haven't tried it
I just read ign's story about the arkham developers saying there are "maybe 3-4" major easter eggs left in the game. I hope at least one of them is a hint to the next game's content ala the warden's office in 'asylum but it's a tall order blowing up every wall in the game three times 'til you find the one with something behind it.
Also written on the wall it says "Dead End" or in other words no hope. When fear, Scarecrows main weapon takes over it feels like there is no hope. It could be another Scarecrow reference
I've looked in a broken mirror before and there's still a reflection.
Maybe there's a big clue about a 3rd game that's very well hidden like Quincy's office in the Asylum that no one found untill they like revealed it or something?
in arkham knight hush was actually supposed to be there instead of arkham knight working with scarecrow which explains the canisters. but because paul dini stopped working on arkham knight it never happened
I think I found out 1of the 3-4 undiscovered easter eggs. In the museum, go to the room where mr freeze was, look at the wall in the corner, there is a paper with maps of the stell mill and the words: operation kill joker
What is the mirror part supposed to suggest?
He's also forgetting that u can see scarecrows hand in the cabinet at the back if the room
Dude,You ARE the world greatest detective
How do you explain the unnatural light coming through the windows.
does anyone else realize that it could be that scarecrow actually just BEAT THE CRAP out of hush?
Thomas was probably the one who reconstructed Scarecrows face after he was mauled by Killer Croc
When u really think of it, its accualy a pretty creepy game
i wonder where the white light from the window is coming from almost looks like the nightmares if u look at scarecrows eyes in AA
I think that this could set up the next game. Think about it, hush gets away, with bruce wayne's face, scarcrow planning something big, what with the boat and hidden thugs scattered around the city, and now the two could be working together. This could be BIG, and Azarel's warning could also set this up, and maybe the dark night and azarel could team up for a portion in the next game. And the possible side villains are a pretty big roster, like the hinted promethius, or warren white, who knows?
@DrGonzo358 Wow, that actually makes sense. Maybe that's how Joker comes back ... through Hush? Probably not, but still it's really interesting. Maybe Hush becomes Scarecrow? And Scarecrow actually is dead?
@2:21 i wonder if that can is the can of fear gas like in batman begins?
i dont think that anyone else noticed the same cup of tea that you would see after you save vicki vale next to where mad hatter was standing on the table as soon as you go in thus mad hatter was working with them and zoom on the floor next to the bath tub you could see a joker card but i dont know what that one means
MAYBE they are together but MAYBE hush just stole scarecrow`s fear gas im not sure but great video , i haven't noticed that before
Another Easter egg:When you are in the side mission of hush and there is a cryptographic panel the keyword is Mockingbird that is in lyrics of the song "hush little baby" like the one that Scarecrow and Harley Quinn sings in the comic of Hush.
How awesome (scary) would it have been if you'd see scarecrow walk behind you in the broken mirror, once in the entire game.
That would have been awesome!
Missed opportunity fr
I think I have a good theory together.
Hush and Scarecrow have been working with each other for a while, that much is obvious. Scarecrow IS recruiting everyone in Arkham Knight, after all. Anyway, Hush agrees to work with Scarecrow by posing as Bruce Wayne to FUND the Arkham Knight's military. This way, Bruce Wayne will be seen as the man who helps take down Gotham and ultimately Batman, which will make him essentially a terrorist. Now, I don't think Hush IS the Arkham Knight. As far as we know, he and Batman only just met in Arkham City this universe, so they have no real quarrel. Elliot just wants Wayne and killing Batman just happens to be how he gets to Wayne with Scarecrow's plan. Instead, I think it's a clone. In this universe, nobody has been able to match Batman. Even characters like Deathstroke and Ra's got their asses HANDED to them with hardly any effort. Therefore, the only person who can logically match Batman would be another Batman. Remember those Cadmus Labs posters in the Harley Quinn DLC? Remember how crappy that DLC was and how it added nothing new to the story? Cadmus could be the only thing that DLC was meant to introduce. As for WHO made the clone, I don't know. There's no real hard evidence to say Scarecrow did it, and it seems like they are working together, rather than the Knight working for Scarecrow. Plus, we have no reason for a clone to hate Batman, so if we discount mind control, he needs another motive. Maybe Strange cloned Batman at some point, and now the Knight wants revenge for Bats letting Strange die?
I guess I don't have THAT good of a theory.
Arkham Knight IS Jason Todd, the guy who can match Batman, because he studied from him.
I still say my theory would've been better, if only because it gives Hush a role in Arkham Knight that wasn't utterly pointless.
+Alexander Parlindungan He did not study him.He is the 2nd Robin.
You use the box to open the gate at the end of the Hush mission, when he shows you his face. So I don't think it's got any relation to that but the dead end thing could mean smthing.
The fact that there are teddy bears all over the room says to me this has something to so with Bane too.
Maybe there was fear gas when batman talked to hush, and he THOUGHT he seen himself
wow...i wrote a plot for a fourth game (had a third already wrote) in which Hush and Scarecrow had teamed up. didnt even see this easter egg. Professor Pyg was also involved
Mabye those two are working together because after asylum scarecrow was left damaged by croc and hush is able to repair his mangaled body. I think these two guys would work so well together.
i wouldnt be surprised if this turns out to be real, because with that decoded easter egg about scarecrows message and then hush's plot for revenge they must be in the next game together
I think a Hush/Scarecrow team-up makes a lot of sense--in Heart of Hush, which was written by Paul Dini, same guy who wrote the games, he revealed that Jonathan Crane psychoanalyzed Hush as a child and Tommy's considered Crane a "mentor" ever since.
Also--aren't those the same teddy bears that we saw in Bane's hideout/Krank Co. Toys? I wonder if there are more of those hanging around and if they mean something...
the game takes place at night, yet there is natural light entering the room from the outside. even if the fear toxin was stolen from scarecrow, it could still be in the air. maybe causing him to have some side affects.
next to the mirror at right you can see a red hand in the wall i noticed it when i played and it was kinda creepy :o
I was about to mention that...I'm glad someone else reads :)
Robert DeCreon
Harley bringing Joker back with the Lazarus Pit or Cadmus isn't a possibility. In the comic book taking place after Arkham City, Batman and Gordon cremated "Joker's" body. That's why I think that that body burned was Clayface. When Batman comes to consciousness in the last Arkham City cutscene, the Cure is in the opposite hand then it was when Batman got knocked out. And we don't know what happened to Clayface. And when he gets cremated, he can just steadily mold himself into ash.
my god theres enough nighmare fuel in this for a trip to pluto and back
its a trio hus, scarecrow and riddler, there is a book the same one you find in hush room, in one of riddlers room also medical supplys
Idk if someone has already said this, but two things
1. The broken cracks in the mirror look a lot like scarecrow's gas mask and hood.
2. Maybe he used the fear gas on his victims and the witnesses in order to make them vulnerable enough for him to easily take down
by my perspective i think the hole bizz with scarcrows mask and his secret base is just a new secret for the dark night two discover
Is that thing (a hand) in the cabinet at 3:32 of any significance?
I assume one of those canisters sprung a very small leak, putting some fear gas in the room, but no where near concentrated enough to actually make you hallucinate.
@SirGrapezz Exactly! That's exactly what I was thinking when I found this. Hush is an expert surgeon, so he would go directly to him as a best choice.
i also noticed some thing in the cabanet with the hand in it look at it and it shows bandages around it scare crows mabie
i think there is more to it to this hideout...it all doesn't add up. 1. batman's reflection is absent in the cracked mirror...and 2. if you throw a remote batarang in the fireplace...it will pass the fire and hit the wall. My guess is there is something under the fireplace, just don't have any idea how to get there.
I want a game that when you find a easter egg batman or whoever your playing tries to find out a way to stop a plan
I recently watched batman and robin the animated movie and it had a scene where batman found w owl feather. I think scarecrow and hush are main villain and court of owls are pulling the strings
