Can we appreciate that rocksteady found a painting that references death in the family, foreshadows the end of the game, and is thematically relevant to two-face, the owner of the painting?
I always assumed it was a real painting but I couldn't find it anywhere else outside in relation to the game when I recently searched it up. So I figured it was a painting created in-house.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS
The entirety of the Arkhamverse revolves around "death in the family". Asylum: Joker constantly mentions it. City: it is alluded to by the paintings/Joker death scene and when you play as Robin in the Joker challenge maps. Joker says, "Didn't I kill you?!" It plays a HUGE role behind the scenes.

The "didn't I kill you" is a reference to when joker killed Jason todd
And then the Arkham Knight's story went deeper into the Death in the family

These batman mythos is so deep when ya think about it. Also this game is having every reference to the comics movies cartoons and maybe the toys for that matter.
Azrael watching Bruce Wayne at the beginning just creeps me out.
the picture on the safe is also of Cain and Able who were brothers, one good, one bad. another reference to the fact that they are the same but on different paths
Azrael's secret message mentions things that occurred on his daily life.We confirm this at Batman Arkham Knight when we notice that everything he did was ordered by the Order of Saint Duma to replace Batman.They just transferred the information to his mind.

It's a triple reference, to Austin Powers (Shark with lasers), the '66 Batman series (Sharks), and The Dark Knight (Dogs)
2:15 amazing theme
The amount of work Rocksteady put into this game continues to astound me, and that is why it continues to be one of my favorite games.
I am from 2018. Spoilers ahead! (If you haven't played Knight but I bet almost everyone has at this point)
At 2:43 the picture on the left is foreshadowing for Arkham Knight at the end of that game. When you're having a hallucination and your playing as Joker, and at the part when you spawn in a dark room and turn your gun's flashlight on, there is that picture on the wall in front of you, and when he sees it, he'll say, "ahh, good times!"
8:18 Years later, replaying this and noticing this line of dialogue, might be a long shot, but could Gordon be talking about those infected with Jokers blood, setting up Arkham Knight???
In Arkham Knight, Gordon believes that they tracked all of the blood down immediately (until Batman shows him the four infected he’s kept locked up). By Harley Quinn’s Revenge, both Batman and Gordon believe all of the Joker’s contaminated blood was tracked down and taken care of before anyone was infected.

Great work on this! I think the details is what makes this series what it is to me. Years later and still details I didn't know after playing it multiple times.
The moment where you see Azreal right at the beginning of the game is incredible. I am NOW, after a long hiatus of not play Arkham City and discovering this video specifically (seen others from BAV), only just finding out about Azreal up on the roof. It's so sneaky it's unreal.

I noticed an Easter egg during the Riddler Shark Contingency thing. He mentioned dogs. Sounds familiar to the scene in The Dark Knight when Batman has to fight the dogs.
Hate to be a party pooper, but I think that the reference to the Batman theme song is actually just a thug making a joke about baseball bats. I've only heard people with baseball bats make the taunt, and it sounds like they're saying "batter" repeatedly.
These are awesome waste eggs. I play Arkham City a lot and I never picked any of this up. Second, I love how the punch noises from the batman theme directly coincide with hits that batman does on the thugs during the fight playing in the background. Thank you guys for doing this

As for Bud and Lou I also found the newest (?) comic where Harley kills them because Joker mutated them. I am just now starting to read the New 52 Harley Quinn comic. It picks up saying that she 'left' the Joker and started her new life in Coney Island, Brooklyn. It is pretty good so far.

The duality of man thing just blew my mind.
In Arkham Knight symbol has allusion to what Azrael said to Batman: "Gotham will burn and you will burn to", when you see the trailerto Arkham Knight, when the icon appears and fire, this is the reference to what Azrael said, the symbol of the game is symbolizes Batman and Gotham.
@BatmanArkhamVideos you are always hard at work finding these easter eggs and when i play batman arkham city or batman arkham asylum you give me the feeling that there will always be more too the batman arkham storyline and i thank you for that and keep up the good work

I've YET to find ANY1 that knows WTF I''m talking about when I make MY prediction for who the AK character is revealed to be.!. read below...
There is a young Dr. Zin-looking (yeah, the Asian Johnny Quest villian), sword-carrying ninja that appears in the eariest 90s' BTAS cartoon (I'm pretty sure that it was before Robin starts appearing) that trained with Bruce before he became BM in some dojo... ANY1 know who I mean AT ALL??? The Ninja character interupts a date that Bruce is on and nearly causes BM to be seen with his cape and cowl removed. Bruce's date was either kidnapped by this StormShadow-esque (G.I. Joe) or she was just dumb and followed the ninja, but the fight took place in a carpet/fabric store or factory, and BM/BW tossed a huge roll of fabric or a rolled rug accross his date to prevent her from seeing him unmasked.
Thats a realllly deep theory almost to deep to be the arkham knight lol

The thing about Azrael... his appearance may have some plot twists fot the arkham knight... this is just a big guess, but the map with 5 points could have some associations with the 5 islands in the arkham knight and particularly the speech of Azrael, in which he unveils the prophecy about burning gotham and batman
i think the scarecrow hint to his hidden lair in B:AC is a bit of a push, i think the idea was that "elevating" referenced the elevator and the depths was just because it was at the bottom (ish) , but i do love the idea

I just love Batman Arkham City for the fact that it has like hundreds of hommages ,references etc. this guys and girls over at Rocksteady really know the material.

one more easter egg for the great white shark is the jar containing his nose,ears and lips from arkham asylum is on the shelf opposite of mister freeze's cell in the museum. I actually think it is re-used through out the game just to fill an empty space but it might have been intentionally placed there because an encounter with mister freeze is what made warren white into the great white shark.
when you use a special combo knockout and your about 10 feet away, batman crouches and lunges forward it kinda reminded me of a calvin and hobbes comic i read when he dressed up as stupendous man and attacked his baby sitter.

17:43 in the operating theater Thomas Elliot (hush) was a surgeon, even in arkham asylum the hush riddle can be found in the operating theater.
I don't know if I was just going crazy that night and hearing things, but I was going through collecting Riddles recently, and I SWEAR TO GOD, when I was by the riddle where you destroy a lot of walls by the entrance to the Sewer Maintenance area, I heard a chime of "Hush little baby". It was like the chime after you confront Hush, accept it was the "Hush little baby" song. I don't really know if it was me, or it's even more cryptic than anything else. If anyone else knows of this, let me know!

18:04 actually if you notice in the museum near where Mr. Freeze was being held you can see the same jar that was used in Arkham asylum as the riddle. it's on a shelf right behind the wall where one of the one arm twins comes out and choke holds Batman

The reference of the Terror poster really originated in Clayface's first appearance in Detective Comics #40 published in 1940. In the story, Karlo first played the Terror in a previous film. When a remake of the movie was being done, Karlo became Clayface to kill off the actors as they died in the film to be the only actor to star in the movie and receive the former glory of his acting career.

i'm pretty sure the message on Azrael's Map isn't as cryptic as it first appears.
it looks to me like this was just a collection of Developers Notes, arranged into a pattern for the savvy egg hunter.
the map itself also appears to have the waypoint mapped out (the cross on the left) with the lone spot on the right possibly being where Azrael first observed Bruce Wayne.
this is just guesstimation though, if the real answer is mythos related, that's also a plus.
