Can we appreciate that rocksteady found a painting that references death in the family, foreshadows the end of the game, and is thematically relevant to two-face, the owner of the painting?
I always assumed it was a real painting but I couldn't find it anywhere else outside in relation to the game when I recently searched it up. So I figured it was a painting created in-house.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS The entirety of the Arkhamverse revolves around "death in the family". Asylum: Joker constantly mentions it. City: it is alluded to by the paintings/Joker death scene and when you play as Robin in the Joker challenge maps. Joker says, "Didn't I kill you?!" It plays a HUGE role behind the scenes.
These batman mythos is so deep when ya think about it. Also this game is having every reference to the comics movies cartoons and maybe the toys for that matter.
the picture on the safe is also of Cain and Able who were brothers, one good, one bad. another reference to the fact that they are the same but on different paths
Idk why but this reminds me of when the time I was watching my older brother play this. He was randomly grappling around and climbed up a railing, but he did not notice that Azrael was there and it suprised him. We both laughed after that because it was funny.
Azrael's secret message mentions things that occurred on his daily life.We confirm this at Batman Arkham Knight when we notice that everything he did was ordered by the Order of Saint Duma to replace Batman. They just transferred the information to his mind.
I am from 2018. Spoilers ahead! (If you haven't played Knight but I bet almost everyone has at this point) At 2:43 the picture on the left is foreshadowing for Arkham Knight at the end of that game. When you're having a hallucination and your playing as Joker, and at the part when you spawn in a dark room and turn your gun's flashlight on, there is that picture on the wall in front of you, and when he sees it, he'll say, "ahh, good times!"
8:18 Years later, replaying this and noticing this line of dialogue, might be a long shot, but could Gordon be talking about those infected with Jokers blood, setting up Arkham Knight???
In Arkham Knight, Gordon believes that they tracked all of the blood down immediately (until Batman shows him the four infected he’s kept locked up). By Harley Quinn’s Revenge, both Batman and Gordon believe all of the Joker’s contaminated blood was tracked down and taken care of before anyone was infected.
Great work on this! I think the details is what makes this series what it is to me. Years later and still details I didn't know after playing it multiple times.
The moment where you see Azreal right at the beginning of the game is incredible. I am NOW, after a long hiatus of not play Arkham City and discovering this video specifically (seen others from BAV), only just finding out about Azreal up on the roof. It's so sneaky it's unreal.
Hate to be a party pooper, but I think that the reference to the Batman theme song is actually just a thug making a joke about baseball bats. I've only heard people with baseball bats make the taunt, and it sounds like they're saying "batter" repeatedly.
This is why I love the Arkham franchise. Brilliant story(s), gameplay, and all these little easter eggs and references. Thanks for posting this, a lot I didn't already know!
I noticed an Easter egg during the Riddler Shark Contingency thing. He mentioned dogs. Sounds familiar to the scene in The Dark Knight when Batman has to fight the dogs.
These are awesome waste eggs. I play Arkham City a lot and I never picked any of this up. Second, I love how the punch noises from the batman theme directly coincide with hits that batman does on the thugs during the fight playing in the background. Thank you guys for doing this
As for Bud and Lou I also found the newest (?) comic where Harley kills them because Joker mutated them. I am just now starting to read the New 52 Harley Quinn comic. It picks up saying that she 'left' the Joker and started her new life in Coney Island, Brooklyn. It is pretty good so far.
I can't believe this came out two years ago. I still love this game! I feel like it came out last October, and now WB Games Montreal is releasing a prequel! I'm loving this franchise!
@@discussion2441 Not that you care, but I finally found it. It’s called Ancient Wonders, and I found it in the Arkham city soundtrack playlist made by Crimson Knight.
I don't know if I was just going crazy that night and hearing things, but I was going through collecting Riddles recently, and I SWEAR TO GOD, when I was by the riddle where you destroy a lot of walls by the entrance to the Sewer Maintenance area, I heard a chime of "Hush little baby". It was like the chime after you confront Hush, accept it was the "Hush little baby" song. I don't really know if it was me, or it's even more cryptic than anything else. If anyone else knows of this, let me know!
In Arkham Knight symbol has allusion to what Azrael said to Batman: "Gotham will burn and you will burn to", when you see the trailerto Arkham Knight, when the icon appears and fire, this is the reference to what Azrael said, the symbol of the game is symbolizes Batman and Gotham.
Dude thanks for your amazing videos i can tell you put a lot of effort on them, but im still cannot belive the number of easter eggs and references in this game this shows that they really care
22:03 In case you didn't figure out, the fight sequences of this game (not including the predator modes) are basically the fight scebes of the Batman 60's show. Here are the reasons: *The way Batman fights against multiple enemies at the same time. *The fact you can throw things to the thugs while fighting them (more evident in Arkham Knight game). *The "stars" that appeared floating around a thug that is left stunned before being completely knocked out. *The punch sounds that might be a reference to the show's onomatopeias displayed on every fight sequence (POW!, PIFF!, BAM!).
So...no one going to point out that the "message" in Azreal's symbol is more like a guy leaving a secret message to the players on how hard it was to make the game? Nearly breaking up with Amanda? That was the developer's girlfriend, not Amanda Waller
I'm always amazed at the level of detail the developers put in n the ppl who devote their time to discover them all. Truly remarkable ppl. Hats off to u all
The tidbit at 16:44 about the return of the joker was from me. Shouts out to me, lol. It's an honor to contribute to a video that got over 1 million views!
If Gordon left Arkham asylum on a boat, how was he there at the final battle with joker, was the one that was in the boat clayface and that is how he got to Arkham city?

Bruce's date was either kidnapped by this StormShadow-esque (G.I. 18:04 actually if you notice in the museum near where Mr. Freeze was being held you can see the same jar that was used in Arkham asylum as the riddle. it's on a shelf right behind the wall where one of the one arm twins comes out and choke holds Batman
I find it absolutely amazing that no one has mentioned her that Victor Zaszh or however spell the scarred serial killer is IN BATMAN BEGINS!!! in SEVERAL SCENES!
I think Riddler's remark about using dogs against Batman might be a reference to "The Dark Knight", in which crooks (both common ones like at the start of the film, and Joker himself at the end) use dogs against Batman. We also have Bruce Wayne asking Lucius Fox if the new Bat-Suit will withstand dog attacks (after he got mauled in the opening scene).

When a remake of the movie was being done, Karlo became Clayface to kill off the actors as they died in the film to be the only actor to star in the movie and receive the former glory of his acting career.
Don't worry too much dude. Rocksteady has been said to be working closely with them on the technical and mythos aspect of Origins, so they should be able to do an amazing job.
I love these videos so much I'm dying for the next Arkham game. Kinda sucks that it's looking like a prequel though, I'd love to see what comes of the prophecy that Azrael is talking about.
one more easter egg for the great white shark is the jar containing his nose, ears and lips from arkham asylum is on the shelf opposite of mister freeze's cell in the museum. I actually think it is re-used through out the game just to fill an empty space but it might have been intentionally placed there because an encounter with mister freeze is what made warren white into the great white shark.
This is why I Love this game cause every detail of It is associated with something It's not just randomly put there...we'll I gotta say its rare finding games like this....
These Easter Egg videos are awesome. I sincerely hope WB Montreal doesn't screw up Arkham Origins because I look forward to watching more videos like this from BatmanArkhamVideos.
Hey @BatmanArkhamVideos I have two easter eggs #1.Hugo Stranges clip board that he is holding in the trophy section is the same that one of the thugs had at Jokers party in Arkham Asylum(Batman is writing in big letter).#2.A thug named Razor is from Arkham Asylum and he dies from an exploding gargolye but if you play the second Catwoman level and go near a car barricade towards the right you will hear Two-Face thugs talking about him.
Talia mentions to Bruce "Batman" Wayne something about a night in Metropolis and when you are looking for riddler trophies in The Bowery, there is a train cart thing right beside the museum that the pass code to unlock the door is METROPOLIS.
Adding to what I said, Riddler never says that he knew you'd get in without collecting the trophies. I consider this proof they originally were going to have you enter the room without the the trophies but it would reveal the location if you did.
In Batman: Arkham Asylum there are some hints involving Mad Hatter. In the Botanical Gardens, there is a tea set, and after scanning that tea set you get Mad Hatters bio. And his name is on Harley Quinn's party-list
The Cain and Abel reference is to Batman and the Joker at the end of the game, how Cain and Abel's relationship and even pose, is connected to batman and the Joker.
Honestly, Azrael's message on the wall looks like a developer talking about how stressfull working on Arkham City was. XD

I never knew how many hidden things there were in this game, it just make me love Batman more!!
