Crazy PB. We've been saying sub 15 could be possible in a perfect run for a while now, but this actually gives credence to that possibility. I'm pretty happy with this time for now though, at least until I can do the double bomb strat on Clayface consistently.

*To people who think that this run is cheating:*
These are well-documented glitches that exist in all versions of the game (you have to do the zips differently on console due to the lower framerate, and the AI glitch at the top of the tower crashes the game on certain versions, but the principle of everything is the same). Glitches are allowed in the category that I am running, the rules for which were defined and agreed upon by the Arkham speedrunning community.
If you disagree with the community allowing glitches, or just prefer categories that involve playing more of the game, we also have a Glitchless category where these glitches cannot be used.

*To everyone:*
Please don't hate on people for their opinions on this, or for how they choose to play video games. Whether glitches are truly cheating or not, it doesn't really matter. It's a singleplayer game so it's not like I'm ruining other player's experience by doing this. Being toxic on either side of the debate doesn't help anybody.

As I said, you have to do the zips differently on console due to the different framerate.
For some, reason I thought he beat the game without glitching in 16 minutes I don’t know why I thought it was even possible

What’s funny is that with this run where you bypass Joker capturing Batman that means he didn’t actually need the cure. Batman just drank some of it just to flex on Joker

But he drank some of the real Cure that Freeze made cause the lazarus can have side effects.

Seeing Batman showing what he could do with a sword was one of the coolest moments ever. No wonder the Arkham Games are so loved.
They dont really show his league of shadows/assassins (wt evrr u wanna call em) training. The bigvest thing that shows it is the katana scene

its funny, in the context of the actual game, batman arrived in less then 20 minutes after suiting up.
and joker immediately dies of the blood poisoning.
It’s crazy because that’s still way longer that it took for Batman to succumb to it. Like Joker had it for a good 6-12 months before finally succumbing to its effects
@@deathmachine726 there is a theory out there that Batman had a bad blood transfusion. His and Jokers blood isn’t compatible. It can kill someone in hours if untreated. That’s why Batman is dying a lot quicker than the joker. After he gets the blood of the demon the blood transfusion is cured and that’s why we don’t see him have symptoms for the rest of the game.
That theory is stupid

The story changes so much for speed runs like now protocol 10 is activated because bats got onto the tower pretty much instantly and bats took the cure solely for shits and giggles

And Catwoman dies at the hands of Two Face because Batman being the greedy bastard he is in this storyline instead of saving her.
@@ghostfave1216ehh maybe not if protocol 10 happens that quickly Two Face might decide to GTFO and just leave Catwoman chained, whether she gets out or not is a different story
I love imagining during speedruns that the character in question, in this case Batman, is very purposefully going at lighting speed. Like he is cutting off his conversations with Alfred or Hugo Strange, or ignoring Catwoman being held hostage because he's some omnipresent being that knows everything will be solved by the next game.
Batman is actually Dr. Manhattan in this universe
This just seems so boring to do. Like its not impressive gettng a wr when you literally cant die.
You absolutely can die in this. But that's not the main thing that makes this difficult.
@@ShikenNuggets it did not look as if he lost any health. And how is any of this difficult. Its literally glitching to thru the map.
I definitely lost health during Clayface, you take damage on purpose there, and it's basically impossible to not get hit while going for the phase skip at the end.
The glitches may look easy, but it takes a fair amount of practice to get good at them, and even then doing them fast is not easy. In particular, the jump onto the dumpster near the beginning, and getting the zip into the elevator first try are both quite difficult.
Imagine watching this stream. Imagine going to the bathroom for 20 minutes to shower. Imagine coming back after only missing for 20 mins. Imagine realizing that WR has been beaten while you were gone.

It may only work once or twice-many of the enemies are good at dodging the Batclaw.
It works every time if you do it right
I did it in a non speedrun, and the did not fall off but their weapons did. It was hilarious to watch.
That, and that you could use explosive gell when clayface is near the bombs to hurt him.
@@d.e.564 Enemies only dodge projectiles when they can see you.
Snipers long sight lines are balanced by a smaller viewing cone. In the game reality, they're looking down a scope. Therefore, the first 4 guys he takes down don't see him.
The smokebomb also resets enemies seeing you, which allows them to be grappled again even though you've already been spotted.

Funny arkham city was the game that immersed me into the arihamverse 8 years ago on xbox, introduced to the batman mythos and Lore of batman. Had a big smile on my face while playing this game on late nights.
I played this game a million times growing up and over a decade later this is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever seen done in an Arkham game

If Batman really let his allies help him through recon and gathering intel in the field he’d actually run through villains’ schemes like this
Nope they would get kidnapped tortured and killed. This is what happened to Jason and Barbara. This is what happened to Barbara, Tim, Nightwing in Knight. It would take longer and make Batmans job more difficult

Barbara wasnt dangerously engaged snd yet she got shot by the Joker. Alfred wasnt dangerously engaged. Infact he was doing gathering intel and recon remotely through the batcave and yet got almost killed by Bane in Origins. Thirdly, Batman uses his sidekicks for intel and recon all the time in the Arkham games. In Arkham City, he used Tim for the hospital related stuff. Oracle is constantly providing him with a stream of information in all the games. He literally uses Nightwing to do recon and intel in the next game so what the hell are you talkig about?

I never thought to yeet npcs off of ledges with the batclaw. Awesome run love this game.
This is a NG+ file that has Batclaw Disarm already unlocked. He's pulling the sniper rifles out of their hands and off the building. You can't pull enemies off ledges... in this game. In Arkham Origins you can. They removed that ability in Knight because it allowed you to straight up murder people.
