I like how Batman made the big dramatic walk out holding jokers body all the way out of Arkham but just left Talia's body in the theatre Bros before Hoes.
Can you imagine the shock from their perspective? They are seeing Batman- Joker's arch enemy- carrying his body in a respectful manner, not wanting to fight or even saying a word. He's calm, yet clearly not in a sound state of mind. They cleared the way out of respect for the one man who carried their boss's body out of a building after a long, intense night of Hell on Earth.
Hey Z, educate me. Why do you say they love each other? Do you mean a respect for each other in context similar to war enemies or rivals? Or do you mean umm errm? Batman and the Joker's beef has been depicted in different ways from hostile and violent, to Batman being the "bigger man" and not trying to kill him.
One reason why Batman doesn't kill is that he himself knows first-hand the damage a murder can do to a victim's loved ones. Murder would create a vicious cycle of vengeance and violence - something that Batman wants to end. The day Batman kills is the day he becomes the thug who murdered his parents.
Connor Kenway You wanna know something funny? The Joker has been killed more than most major criminals in the DC universe. My Theory: Batman knew full well how Joker would react. He knew he'd stab him from behind, causing to drop the cure through no fault of his own. Batman made that whole "I put you away, you escape, people die" monologue knowing what was going to happen next. Make no mistake, Batman WAS fully prepared to give him the cure and he had every intention of saving his life, if only Joker hadn't stabbed him, causing him to involuntarily drop and break the vial. But he did, and in the end of the day, Joker's death is 100% Joker's fault; he died IN SPITE OF Batman's efforts to save him. Batman finally found a way to get rid of his greatest enemy without breaking his One Rule, and it worked. Harley became so difficult to console, that Batman could have given a detailed explanation of what happened and she still wouldn't believe him. So Batman doesn't bother wasting his breath.

You realise Batman's been killing in movies since 1989, right? Are do you just pretend the scene where Batman blows up an entire chemical factory doesn't exist so you have an excuse to hate Batman V Superman?
Fun Fact: Monarch Theatre is the theatre where Thomas and Martha took Bruce to before their deaths. Fitting location for the final battle for the game and final battle with Joker. Because like with his parents death, this changed Bruce immensely. Rocksteady really are kings of game making. Can’t wait for more from them.
To be fair, it was Freeze who did that. Plus even if Batman knew of the risk, he wouldn't have had the chance to warn Freeze because... well... Freeze was trying to kill him
Galvanizer I disagree. After the fight with Batman and Freeze Bruce holds him down and gets a chance to talk to him. I guess Batman just forgot to tell freeze that because of all the fuss, or he didn’t want to waste anymore time then he had to.
Actually, after the fight, both Freeze and Batman discovered that the cure was stolen from the vault. They did not get the chance to put it in a precious, robust container.
A test tube that breaks when Batman drops it but doesn't break during that massive explosion during which Batman hits the floor really hard with it in his hand.
For some odd reason, video games tell better stories than any movie, TV show or book (though, its debatable) could. It's mostly because of the limitless opportunities the devs have when creating the game and then the story. Game development and plot mixes very well.
Funny how in the end the Joker is like:"Bats has finally come to senses about killing me, I've won :D, I'd better kill him first before he kills me." *Fails Batman:"... I would have saved you." Joker:"Ooh you gotta be kidding me..." *Dies
I love how the ending scene, where Batman carries The Joker's body out of Arkham City, actually mirrors the painting of Cain and Abel in the first shot of the game's opening cutscene. Cinematic genius.
Kinda reminds me of the music video by Joji “Sanctuary” where after the big bad villain is defeated Joji feels empty like after completing a game, there isn’t much to do, so his friend became a villain to fill that void in Joji
I honestly love the Joker but when he said to batman "I killed your GF, poisoned gotham etc. And we all know your gonna save me" I grew angry and i really thought to myself he needs to die...If that were me obviously but when he died I kinda felt sort of like crying lol than it killed me when harley quinn saw the Jokers body ;(
I like the (probably) unintentional foreshadowing in Arkham Asylum. Before Joker shoots up with Titan, he says “I have nothing to live for!” And aims the syringe to his chin, mocking suicide. Ironically, he really did kill himself then and there, he just didn’t know it.
Just found out about Kevin Conroy's death a few minutes ago and I was very shocked and saddened by this news. Rest in peace dark knight, we will always remember you.
13:15 It’s interesting how the thugs don’t even attack Batman when he carries Joker’s dead body out of the theater. They just stand there in silence. It’s like they didn’t do anything because they were in complete shock that the Joker finally died.
Everyone needs to come to the realization that Joker is dead in the ARKHAM series. The Arkham franchise is a separate entity from the films and comics; in other words, it's not canon to the comics. The developers in Rocksteady have made it clear that Joker is dead, and that he will not be returning for Arkham Knight. Now, Batman may experience flashbacks or hallucinations involving the Joker, but the Joker will not appear in person. Arkham Knight is going to be brilliant, even without Joker.
Totally agree. And we get my boy Scarecrow to do battle with this time. I loved Joker since I could walk, but Scarecrow is my joint favourite and I'm dying to see him in action. Besides I have a bit of a grudge against Joker these days because of the whole Black Mask incident in Origins.
Same. Black Mask and Scarecrow are the best. Maybe Black Mask's chance to shine was ruined, but hopefully Scarecrow's won't. I did like Origins, but I was super pissed off about the whole Black Mask twist. I would like to see him in Arkham Knight, maybe under the employ of Scarecrow.
After looking it up, I think it mean the remaining inhabitants of Gotham, hence REMnants. No I don't even own a current gen console. I have a 360. I will get a current generation console when Arkham Knight comes out.
+Daniel Foggin you mean the Lazarus pit, the pool of immortality is the elixir of life. Not trying to cause a fight just never heard someone call the Lazarus pit the "pool of immortality".
Harley Quinn: "Oh my poor, poor, Puddin'." Harvey Bullock: "C'mon, he was a demented, abusive, psychotic maniac." Harley Quinn: "Yeah, I'm really gonna miss him."
It’s been 12 years since this game came out and the ending still gets me. Joker had worked tirelessly to try to get Batman to break his moral code and in the end, Joker died by his own hands. Batman got the last laugh but at the same time, he felt empty inside because in a way, they both needed each other. Batman was silent the whole time because he was mourning on the inside and was never the same again. RIP Kevin Conroy, you will forever be the greatest Batman!
22Luika And it falls in line with what joker says, how they're meant to do it forever and that they can't kill each other no matter how much they want to.. man I wish heath didn't pass ):
@@22Luika Heath Ledger was a terrible Joker, he wasn't actually Joker at all! Though that's not entirely his fault, The Dark Knight's writing was just awful.
RIP Kevin Conroy - This scene was THE BEST by far of all the Batman!, the Animated series! - I can fully understand how Mark Hamill stepped down as the Joker after his best friend past away - You sir Mr Conroy was MY Batman and will ALWAYS will be 😢😢😢😢
What makes this ending so excellent is how powerful the Joker's death feels. When Batman walks out holding the Joker's body, it's as if he's carrying the corpse of God himself. Harley Quinn and all of Joker's goons are at a loss for words and even Catwoman drops by to see it for herself. The music is sombre yet angelic as befitting the funeral of a larger than life person. Only Gordon can muster up the composure to speak and all he can do is ask what the hell has happened. And all the while, the man who knew Joker more than anybody else, the one who was there when it happened, can only keep his eyes dead ahead and lay the body of his arch nemesis down and leave without a word. The whole world comes to a halt as Joker's body is brought by, as everybody knows that the landscape of Gotham just changed forever.
joker is the King thats why the world came to a halt if it were any other villian dead the world wouldn’t care... joker was Gotham’s biggest underworld Don.
Rado Heineken You don't know? Bruce Wayne ad Talia al Ghul are Husband and Wife (Don't know if they were married) but they have a child and his name is Damian Wayne
Remember the painting at the beginning of the game, the one that is covering the safe that Catwoman opens? It pretty much foreshadowed the part at 13:42
I think it’s called “Duality of men” or something like that. It shows Cain and Abel. It actually makes sense, because Cain killed Abel and then carried his body, just like Batman did.
It reminds me of the phrase that Joker said in Batman The Animated Series: "Without the flying rat, crime is not funny" practically as you say, they need each other
thats in the comics in the arkham series hes fully dead the only reason why hes immortal in the comics is because their is always someone to take him to the pit but the pit was destroyed in arkham city(different universe from the comics
in my opinion this is one of the best DC universe games ever made, along the batman route, I just love how the ending isn't happy yet isn't sad its sort of in the middle however its very powerful
Remember, it's not just funny that Joker effectively sealed his own fate; it's funny that Batman, having made the reasonable argument that saving joker here dooms many more to die, would still have chosen to let him live. That's what Joker finds so funny.
Spent Lizard Good luck, Arkham Asylum was such a great game, but Arkham City was even better! Arkham Origins was great, but it wasn't better than the first 2 games, but still great.
@@SonicCam04 Funny thing, I actually saw this spiderman game where he after fighting 2 supervillains, he went to take a small nap and woke to a city falling apart.
Honestly jokers death in Arkham city was probably the most haunting in gaming history there no gore, no blood, he just slowly surcomes to his illness and dies with a big wide smile on his face, and that image has been burned into mine and probably many others minds ever since they completed the game
I still play Arkham City to this day! The game is phenomenal on every level. The concept of the story was awesome and I legitimately though Batman might actually die at one point. The buildup to the end was perfect. I loved the Mr Freeze fight, it was so unique and different. The Clayface boss fight at the end was also epic and just pure adrenaline. The Joker plot twist and him dying at the end really threw me for a loop. This game was an emotional rollercoaster and I loved every second of it! The DLC was so cool and how it tied into the story was brilliant. The Harley Quinns revenge DLC was so fun to play as Robin. Free roaming as Catwoman and going through her Campaign was pretty cool too.

Batman: bros before hoes
Her body disappeared when Batman was fighting Clayface. And he carried out Joker'a body to show the world that the clown was officially dead.
Aged like a turd in the sun
How are you feeling about them now?
This wouldn't have happened if Batman hadn't put the cure in a tiny, fragile test tube.
And it wasn't a very smart move on the Joker's part to stab the arm he was holding it with.
Lol, Talia gets killed yet Batman walks out with Jokers body

Out of the entire DC universe, this will always be the best scene of all time. we'll always be on team Arkham✊
The best and saddest ending ever.
Isn’t it weird that a game has a better ending than most movies in the past decade, he’s a psychopath yet we cried that’s master writing for you.
Despite being so evil, this is the saddest moment in the series. There just can't be a Batman without the Joker.
Bane !? riddler ?
Pretty much there can
Kinda reminds me of the music video by Joji “Sanctuary” where after the big bad villain is defeated Joji feels empty like after completing a game, there isn’t much to do, so his friend became a villain to fill that void in Joji
I honestly love the Joker but when he said to batman "I killed your GF, poisoned gotham etc. And we all know your gonna save me" I grew angry and i really thought to myself he needs to die...If that were me obviously but when he died I kinda felt sort of like crying lol than it killed me when harley quinn saw the Jokers body ;(
batman had pity for the joker and joker must of had amired batman because of all the chances he had to kill him he dosent.

Joker doesn't want to kill batman cause he will get bored
And batman just doesn't kill people
The Joker doesn't want to kill Batman because he wants to prove that even someone as sane as Batman can go insane.
+Joe Walker
Actually Batman is already insane.
I never thought about that... huh.
Just found out about Kevin Conroy's death a few minutes ago and I was very shocked and saddened by this news. Rest in peace dark knight, we will always remember you.
Can we appreciate that this man took the time to do a flawless run for us!!!
13:15 It’s interesting how the thugs don’t even attack Batman when he carries Joker’s dead body out of the theater. They just stand there in silence. It’s like they didn’t do anything because they were in complete shock that the Joker finally died.
To be fair, would you attack the guy who is carrying your boss' corpses?
The best superhero game ever.
And arguably the best game ever.
Yeah :P
Yup
Not the best but it's still good

I think the arkham series is the perfect incarnation of batman, equally goofy and serious
My thoughts exactly.
Haha! Please be the main villain, I really don't want to be mislead again.
I'm pretty sure he just means inhabitants of Gotham.
After looking it up, I think it mean the remaining inhabitants of Gotham, hence REMnants. No I don't even own a current gen console. I have a 360. I will get a current generation console when Arkham Knight comes out.
12:10 - Holy shit that's hands down the coolest Mark Hamill Joker moment ever!
Certainly one of his best Joker laughs! It's REALLY eery and creepy.
So Batman killed Clayface... That means he broke the rule.
But Clayface ended up going into the pool of immorality so maybe he came back to life? I don't know
+xXSilentAgent47Xx According to arkham wiki hes still alive but cant shape into others
+Daniel Foggin you mean the Lazarus pit, the pool of immortality is the elixir of life. Not trying to cause a fight just never heard someone call the Lazarus pit the "pool of immortality".
+Tyson Thompson it's just because the Joker said " I have a date with immorality " and it looked like a little pool
***** ahh ok
Harley Quinn: "Oh my poor, poor, Puddin'."

Roxas theNobody Maybe it fell on his right hand in the explosion? I know its stupid. But you are right.
did you play arkham Knight?
+Tamari Bond arkham knight doesn't give an answer for that
Ethan Robinson it starts off with the player cremating the joker who is still infected
We don't know why the cure swapped hands though, it was just a mistake
It’s been 12 years since this game came out and the ending still gets me. Joker had worked tirelessly to try to get Batman to break his moral code and in the end, Joker died by his own hands. Batman got the last laugh but at the same time, he felt empty inside because in a way, they both needed each other. Batman was silent the whole time because he was mourning on the inside and was never the same again. RIP Kevin Conroy, you will forever be the greatest Batman!
That could've been like fourth movie of Christian bale batman.
Imagine that with Heath Ledger. What a shame :C
22Luika And it falls in line with what joker says, how they're meant to do it forever and that they can't kill each other no matter how much they want to.. man I wish heath didn't pass ):
@@22Luika heath ledger wasn't the infected joker kinda one
@@22Luika Heath Ledger was a terrible Joker, he wasn't actually Joker at all! Though that's not entirely his fault, The Dark Knight's writing was just awful.

*Batman's Girlfriend Dies
Batman: “Meh.”
*Joker dies
Batman: “I'll carry you, my prince.”

Man your not even getting touched in this game
jokers voice actor did amazing in all of these games. a legend. the heath ledger of the gaming world
Mark Hammill

You’re definitely the type to call a game like GTA IV “an underrated gem” lmfao. This game has like a 96% positive rating
I never saw half of the events in this game coming. What a masterpiece!
Joker and Batman have always been each other’s true love. They complement each other perfectly
It reminds me of the phrase that Joker said in Batman The Animated Series: "Without the flying rat, crime is not funny"
practically as you say, they need each other
Why doesn't anyone notice that Clayface got killed by Batman? He killed off two villains in one night.
he also killed ras al ghul and solomon grundy
Eh, I don't count Ras as it seemed like he dies on his own and Grundy is already, dead. So yeah.
but still
Ras al Ghul isn't dead , his body disappeared and ras can't die because of the lazurs pit with makes him immortal
thats in the comics in the arkham series hes fully dead the only reason why hes immortal in the comics is because their is always someone to take him to the pit but the pit was destroyed in arkham city(different universe from the comics
in my opinion this is one of the best DC universe games ever made, along the batman route, I just love how the ending isn't happy yet isn't sad its sort of in the middle however its very powerful
13:20 Man, this final scene is a scene of Beauty
I think Joker and Batman have a serious Love-Hate relation ship
Remember when we all thought joker was alive because the cure was in batmans other hand after he woke up? Lol Arkham knight put that theory to rest
When in the game did he say that I don't remember
+Ricardo Gomez It would have been super lame if the Joker had turned out to be alive.
Remember, it's not just funny that Joker effectively sealed his own fate; it's funny that Batman, having made the reasonable argument that saving joker here dooms many more to die, would still have chosen to let him live. That's what Joker finds so funny.
I have a feeling Talia Al Ghul might return in Arkham Knight...her body disappeared which means that the servants will take her to another Lazarus pit

Honestly jokers death in Arkham city was probably the most haunting in gaming history there no gore, no blood, he just slowly surcomes to his illness and dies with a big wide smile on his face, and that image has been burned into mine and probably many others minds ever since they completed the game
Idk about anyone but Arkham Series games feel so much better playing them around the holidays !
A legendary ending to a legendary series.
Some might not notice this, but the way he carries joker closely mirrors how he carried nightwing when he died in injustice
😢RIP kevin

That'd be because in the dlc they reveal that she wasn't really pregnant.
Yeah, I watched it, but it's really sad how she lost the child :'( Thank you though!
