The first thing we notice is how much work Mira generates, and even though we can see improvement over time, the quality is always there, even in the early sketches. So impressed!
I really relate to being a list person 😅 like i have a journal dedicated to just lists of music, anime, and drawing ideas. Ive also kept my old sketchbooks from highschool and middle school and it always trips me out seeing what i used to be into and how i used to draw but it always gives me a nostalgic feeling
@@MiraBylerI'm trying to buy one of your items from your shop but it doesn't give me the option for United Kingdom do you send to the UK I really need the beautiful bag lol
Looking back at my old sketchbooks makes me realized how much my skill declined lol. Which is fine, it just declined because I used to sketch or paint almost every day and now I do it every few months if that! I'm sure eventually I'll pick it back up again, I just burned myself out
Hi Mira! I've been watching you for around 5 years now (can't believe it's been that long!) and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all of the inspiration and creative encouragement you have provided over that time. Your videos were what really motivated me to continue with my art, and cast out any self-doubts, or worries about how I could develop my own unique "style." Since then, I have discovered that art is one of my passions, and I've chosen to continue forward with it in my studies! All of your videos are so beautifully put together, and it's such a privilege to share in your joyful positive attitude- I think it is something we can all learn a lot from, to be kind to OURSELVES as well as just others, and take the time we need to do what makes us feel good, in order to grow as people. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, and including us in this experience to look back and reflect on what we've achieved with pride, and see how far we've come. Wishing you all peace and best of luck for the coming year! ❤❤
Hello Mira! As my Mother has always said to me. Write the date on your photo’s, because unfortunately we will forget in time. Even with art work in a journal it’s nice to have a little personal thought on the process of why you why went that route. Maybe, your feelings,,etc…. As always, Mira, you are a delightful person and your videos are great. You leave a person with positive vibes. To me that is a wonderful gift to share with so many people. Warm Regards, Martina.
This is one of my favourite things to do with my sketchbook. Sometimes there are pages that i hated when i made them and looking at them later on makes me apreciate them way more. Great video ❤
I have a tendency to rip pages out if sketchbooks. I lost a few of mine from college cuz of moving and just a distaste for the art i did. Seeing this video makes me see that i was too harsh on my art and the imposter syndrome i went through was not Great. Now i enjoy art even though i do post some on RUclips i have created things without the pressure of filming it.
People typically have a very short attention span... so casting the deciding vote for a series was/is the best choice. Fun to look back and see a few things, like you never gave up, your skill and styles improved. I saw many drawings which are calling out for you to revisit them with your current style and abilities. Hopefully, you do this 🙂
_"People typically have a very short attention span."_ I can't agree._"People typically have a very short attention span."_ is a myth propagated by constant repetition! I would rephrase that as *younger* people tend to have a short attention span... " due mostly to the development of social media and its demands for 'quick fixes' which develop addictions to their platforms. This has now become increasingly the case with RUclips, where videos longer than 30 minutes are now ignored by the algorithm, and even 20 minute videos are now considered 'too long'. Source: the comments made by several of my art friends here on YT, including the Frugal Crafter Lindsay Weirich, who's been around as an art and craft video channel since 2010, and the 20+ age groups, who have seen the changes in the way their videos _aren't_ being promoted now! It's why so many now do time lapse, and keep their real-time videos for their members / patreons. Most of us over 20 ' 25 years olds have perfectly normal attention spans and are getting increasingly frustrated by this problem!!!
So fun looking through old sketchbooks and see how much you have grown and learned over the years 😄 I love the pencil pouch you made, it’s so cute 😍 if you shipped to Europe I would have bought one immediately 😄
I would really love to see you complete the sketchbooks that still have room in them as you work on future sketches! I know you're very into being sustainable and using what you have, and I think that would be a great way to do that while also just simply finishing the book is satisfying! :)
Wow Mira, yes your style has definitely changed but just look at the wonderful shading and details of those early pages. The lady sitting at the table for instance, the shading and texture of the wood grabbed my eye right away and your hair drawings are so amazing. I think a ‘gallery wall’ sketchbook video would be great! 💕
New to your channel, this was so helpful to see, it was inspiring. I love seeing early works from an artist, it helps me to grow myself. And I love that you don't always finish a sketchbook, that's super validating as well! Thank you!
Yes! I am so thankful! I think a few from this time period got lost in the flood. I lost many older middle/high school ones unfortunately. But thankfully they are on RUclips! 💜💜💜
I'm definitely borrowing your greenhouse idea from your 5" watercolor sketchbook ❤ love my pencil pouch you made! Youre absolutely right it does hold my watercolors and tombows AND my 5" watercolor sketchbook 🎉🥳
Just ordered the pencil bag...can't wait til I get it!!🎉❤ Also the thing is you are going to be judging your art more than anyone else. I think your early art is so full of character! Happy New year!
Loving the flip through so far, I love your early works, I think perhaps it’s more my ‘style’… Or just more to my liking, I don’t really know what my style is! I love that I can see the cutesy stuff coming on in like the last two sketchbooks, it’s a drastic shift that even my untrained eye can see :P Also eagerly waiting for my mail forwarder to bring me two of those huge pencil cases, plus whatever else I ordered and forgot. It’ll be sort of a surprise and I do like surprises 😂
I have lost so many sketchbooks over the years from cross Canada moves and cross ocean moves. My dad mailed me some of the ones from middle school, I should film a video with them actually lol (even tho i did rip some pages from therm years ago for some reason)
Why would you make fun of others art when you make fun of youre? Im lost... anyways.. there are way too many snowflakes whose lives dont know bad stuff so they probs make some since life nows a lot better than it was in my grandparents lives.. or communism cause Romaniaxd

That is very beautifully said! Totally agree with you!
Same, although if there's any pages I really really can't stand I usually make a collage over that page :)
I've never thought of that I'll try that next time, thanks for the idea ☺️
@@bookshelfhoneyCool idea!
I love how your older pieces inspired you.

I binge watched all your videos last year. Starting right from your first video. Lots of memories here ❤️

Please do more of ways to fill your sketch books.
