So awesome! I have one my grandfather's sketch books. It means so much to me. Even though it is not full of drawings the ones that he did create are really nice. What I think is so cool is that he would go to the art museum near us and sketch the sculptures and African masks. I can still go to that same museum and see the objects that he drew as a young man.
This album must have seen *a lot* of things, as it has drawings from the man's childhood and up until the military service. That's at least 10-15 years! And now these 1.5 dozen years of the personal story have got through nearly a century. That's just fascinating.

My great-great-grandmother was the artist in the family, she drew on leather in the gauchos' equipment, it was so sad to hear my great-grandmother tell that all of her mother's sketches were lost after his mother died of tuberculosis. It is wonderful that they keep the sketchbook, it is truly a relic, also that you were able to show them to the world in this video, your grandfather will live a long time in the memory of the people who have seen this video ❤
In the last year I visited my grandmother once every Friday, and we had a lot of really interesting things to talk about and share (she is probably the first person in my family with whom I share my passions, characters and stories) Learned a lot of unexpected things about her as well, both she and her father were engineers back in Soviet Union, and it turns out that I am currently studying at the same university as she did, and this is honestly fascinating, I have noticed that we have so much in common! Obviously I have a lot of similarities with my father as well, but I am really proud that his positive attitude and a bit of a rebellious spirit lives in me! Honestly, I am surprised that none in our family was a musician, especially my father, he just had the perfect style and aura. Although, I did learn that he used to paint a little bit back in his 20s, and I am currently teasing him a bit that he should give it a try again
This sketchbook really kind of serves as a time capsule of your granddad's life. It's fascinating to think about the stories behind each of these sketches! It's truly special ❤
Amazing. It breaks my heart to think about people who live their lives, create things, collect things, and when we are gone, those things remain. What happens to a lot of these things? They get thrown away sometimes. It's kind of an "existential " thought that goes through my mind quite a lot. Like too much, keeps me awake at night, among other thoughts. I appreciate you showing this and giving respect to your Grandfather. It is very nice to see.♥️💔💙
i can relate. Imo it's a balance. For instance I threw out a lot of sketchbooks, but I am keeping a few, those who I really cherish, because otherwise I'd have to rent a container to keep it all in, and I don't want my kids to clear those containers one day. But that's many years from now - let's cherish the present! Thank you for watching!
I think it’s wonderful how you are able to find so much to complement and praise in each drawing. Most people would see it was done by a 12 year old and instantly write it off.
That’s a really cool item to have! It’s interesting to see the differences and similarities in modern art subjects and older ones like this. I think sketchbooks and art in general are an important way of getting a glimpse into the time period and life of the artist who drew them.
your grandpa was very good at drawing! for some reason, i love how the paper looks old and wary. also, i somehow kinda came up with a story idea just by looking at your outfit. there are some parts i couldn’t really come up with something for, but i didn’t spend a lot of time working on it haha. if you want to see what it’s about here’s a copied version from my notes below: A middle aged man tries to follow the path of his grandfather trying to make a time machine to make himself feel better after the death of his grandpa who he thinks is his fault he died. [idk what the reason is yet] his wife divorced him because the man was always working and didn’t spend time with her. the kids went with the mom. occasionally, the mom will come over to see her ex-husband to see if he’s doing okay (because she still loves him and cares about him). The man’s kids want him to stop working and they try all they can to make him take a break. As the story goes on, the kids teaches him lessons and eventually, he stops working and takes a break.
I love how the flowers on the left page at 2:12 are clearly his rendition of the same flowers the woman was painting in the previous drawing. Very much enjoyed this, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your Grandads Sketchbook! it was so interesting to see what someone saw, perceptions of the world around them from that time drawn on paper. It’ll make me think of things a little differently from now on appreciate them more. Thank you and your Grandad for making me see the value of what’s around in a different light, and love things more then I would’ve before :) great video.

I always loved seeing other people's sketchbooks, but seeing one so old in such good condition is amazing. Thank you for sharing this! :)
In the last year I visited my grandmother once every Friday, and we had a lot of really interesting things to talk about and share (she is probably the first person in my family with whom I share my passions, characters and stories)
Learned a lot of unexpected things about her as well, both she and her father were engineers back in Soviet Union, and it turns out that I am currently studying at the same university as she did, and this is honestly fascinating, I have noticed that we have so much in common!
Thank you for watching!
that was a cool drawing for almost a 100 yrs old drawing!.. Epic
Very beautiful sketch book your father was very talented!
What a treasure! Thank you for sharing this with us!
This is a relic and a piece of history, thank you for sharing this with us for all to see :)
finally. the sketchbook which don't have any anime in
lol. I have 0 animé in all of mine. But have actually thought about trying it out one day, it looks like fun!
Whats wrong with anime.?
@@A_Rainworld_Fan. All.
@@A_Rainworld_Fan. nothing at all. Perfectly fine to do. There are just some who associate anime with the cringe we see online
@@A_Rainworld_Fan.
It's probably because it's the most common thing everyone has ever drawn
My great-grandfather also died on 2018. It was on December 18, 2018 its sad that he didn’t reach Christmas with us
I loved this so much I cried
This is so fascinating. I wish I could see more sketchbooks from history.
That generation was special.
3:30 those are so so awesome 🤩
His art improvement was so smooth. Nice vid.
its like showing his journey from beginner to being a good artist!
I think it’s wonderful how you are able to find so much to complement and praise in each drawing. Most people would see it was done by a 12 year old and instantly write it off.
How much I envy you for having such a close relation with your family❤
You are so lucky to have such a wonderful thing from your Grandfather,
I would be tempted to frame them all ,
Thanks again 👍🏻
Every flip of a page changes the way and style of drawing, seemingly an evolving hand skill being storied in a sketch book
Awesome drawing art works.
And especially for 💯 years 😺👍.
That’s a really cool item to have! It’s interesting to see the differences and similarities in modern art subjects and older ones like this. I think sketchbooks and art in general are an important way of getting a glimpse into the time period and life of the artist who drew them.
your grandpa was very good at drawing! for some reason, i love how the paper looks old and wary.
also, i somehow kinda came up with a story idea just by looking at your outfit. there are some parts i couldn’t really come up with something for, but i didn’t spend a lot of time working on it haha. if you want to see what it’s about here’s a copied version from my notes below:
A middle aged man tries to follow the path of his grandfather trying to make a time machine to make himself feel better after the death of his grandpa who he thinks is his fault he died.
I think you should write that story. You could post it here on YT.
Than you for showing us a piece of life of your Granddad. I hope you grow
Enjoyed watching it! They all look amazing, Thanks for sharing his wonderful artworks ✨

So many people have come to share this wonderful sketchbook with you., and have found your channel. One last gift from granddad. ❤️
I love how the flowers on the left page at 2:12 are clearly his rendition of the same flowers the woman was painting in the previous drawing. Very much enjoyed this, thank you for sharing.
Your grandfather was a very good artist. Thanks for sharing. This is a great keepsake and great memories of your grandfather.
What a wonderful time capsule we once had! Your grandpa's drawing is lovely
It's literally 4 AM for me here in Germany and I stumbled randomly to this video and I'm glad I did. Really pretty drawings, thanks for sharing :)
I love seeing how people express moments in their life- memories- though art. I do the same thing with mine. It's great that he kept these and that you held on to and preserved them. Thank you for showing us.
Very nostalgic & inspirational vid. Thank you for sharing your family's history, it warms the heart and made me think of my beloved late grandparents. 😊 🌻
I love this sm. Thank you for sharing your legacy with us.
Ur grandfather is really good at drawing
WOW! The paintings is so cute
I feel very happy for you that you have such a cool heritage. I really miss my granddad. He also liked art and drew sometimes. But he didn't collect them properly due to his condition or whatever. I was almost crying while watching your video and listening to the story.
Thank you so much for sharing the Sketchbook of your grandfather and his life😍
Thank you for this tour of the family genre. You'd make your Grandpa proud, I'm sure. His sketches are priceless. I remember snow white and the seven dwarfs as a young boy. The coloring books and comics are colored exactly like the pages in your Grandpa's book. His adaptations of cartoons and figures again are priceless. Thank you for sharing.😊😊
This is so beautiful. It is like a time capsule. I hope your family will keep it forever🌹Thank you for sharing
Very precious connection with your grand father.
Indeed. Thx for tuning in!
