Still seems strange that she doesn’t have the shield weaver armor or maybe some new outfit that incorporates the shield breaker outfit into her Nora Brave outfit.
The reason why we never saw more than one tallneck together was because originally they were in herds and aloy could hunt and kill them but the devs decided that they looked too docile and it wouldn't be in her character to kill such machines. They then reworked them.

Bro, that scene in the seaweed...I swear that was actual game-play and not a cut-scene. If so, holy shite those graphics. Reason I think it's not a cut-scene is because when she moves the seaweed aside, it clips through her armor and body. That wouldn't happen in a cut-scene or pre-rendered w/e. Omfg. In the cutscene with Sylens, the people appear to be removing residual corruption from a corrupted machine. When the man sticks his spear into the machine's head, the wires on its neck flash bright red (like it's eyes) before going dark. I think Sylens is trying to figure how to remove corruption from machines.
Playstation did a commentary video on the trailer, you can easily find it. He said that a new tribe has figured out too how to take over machines. So not about corruption
It looked to me as if they were overriding corrupted machines. Remember, they're stronger than their non-corrupted analogs. If Sylens is building an army, he might believe they will come in handy.
In the ingame Forbidden West, there's talk of a giant lake with a submerged ancient city. Sounds like something we would get to explore with the new underwater gear.

I didn't even notice that Aloy doesn't have a spear in the video. I'm assuming she still has it since she is seen riding an overridden charger. Also in the game the spear just disappears when she draws her bow (I think).
It does disappear but could be due to modeling limits. See how most games that have multiple weapon choices tend to only show one, maybe two at any given point
There are other AI'S. Plant life is Demeters area. Water is Poseidon's. Aloy is gonna need to catch them eventually. I think that's how this game will go. Sylens and aloy trying to catch the sub functions for their own use.
I’m so glad that I finished Zero Dawn yesterday, such a great bloody game that I still want to play all hours of the day just so I can beat it again. I wonder if Sylens is going to be the antagonist, or just a trouble maker. Finishing the game however was a mistake, because now I’m contemplating spending $500+ to buy a new console lol
It's a nice little reference in the logo design, for sure, but all official Guerrilla and Playstation accounts are referring to it - universally and without exception - as "Horizon Forbidden West". No colon, no number.

I’m thinking HFW will release early to mid 2021, A lot of the assets have already been developed for the first, so subsequent developments will be far easier and quicker to develop.
Typical Gaming yeah for sure, Sony wouldn’t want to blow their load immediately, give some breathing room between these first party releases. It makes the jump into next gen far more interesting and more of a long term experience.

In the announcement trailer of Horizon forbidden west, at 1:55 you can see a Chinese writing and right behind the writing there are playing cards, which indicates that it was once a casino or the Chinese writing says “playground”
Things I hope to see in Horizon II: Forbidden West 1. Dialogue and choices that effect the story and characters 2. Larger customisable options for Aloy’s outfits, weapons and face paint 3. The ability to romance certain characters 4. The spear is cool but I’d love to see Aloy wield a sword 5. Side missions that have super secret special unlockables 6. More mounts (maybe water mobile or airborne machines) 7. The ability to craft special gear, weapons and tools or upgrades 8. Aloy learns more about the “old ones” and facts that debunk what some of the tribes believe 9. More info on Elisabet Sobeck 10. To see a Metal Devil come to life
3:19 I doubt that this was an ancient war machine. The structures looks pretty organic, almost like corals. And there is only one plausible explanation for this purple glow: Hepheastus. We saw similar phenomena in the Frozen wilds DLC, like the Daemonic machines that were also covered in some sort of purple wiring. These coral shapes could also hint that some of gaias subfunctions are fusing with each other, like hepheastus and poseidon. Just look at the huge robotic snapping turtle, it is an amphibious animal that can both life in the water and outside of it. If the subfunctions fuse, then this could mean that they become more advanced and sentient but maybe also a bit chaotic.
I started watching you way back when the original released in early 2017, I'm not too into AC but over the years I've watched your God of War, Spiderman, Jedi: Fallen Order, Ghost of Tsushima, and Avengers videos. It's crazy that we're now approaching HZD2 ,and that The Last of Us 2 releases in just a few days. Time really flies. Thank you for making such fun videos, guides, and tips and tricks. I really can't wait for this game. I only got this game (Zero Dawn) because I wanted a new game with bow mechanics, and I've known it had really good graphics and I'm a sucker for good looking games. But I fell in love with the aesthetic, and the story of Aloy and the people she meets while uncovering who she really is, so much so I've played this game more than once just to re experience the story. I can't wait to return to this series
As much as I love this 10/10 game, I do wish for more customizations on weapons and armor. Perhaps maybe color shaders which can be made or gathered and apply it too a shader socket on a gear piece.
I can't believe the time is running so fast. I remember playing Horizon for the first time and later that week watching your tips and tricks videos on the game. I have watched your channel grow from 20 k subs to almost 500k and i am proud to be here since that time. Keep up the good work jordan.
If you explore some ruins and find the sound clips and stuff you find out that in order to help with project enduring victory, they set the pacific trash island on fire to help slow down the hoard and it eventually washed up on the shore of the west coast so I really can't wait to see the remnants of that.

Idk... the Tenakth were literal cannibals and were likely the most primitive of all the other tribes. I dont think they would've taken too kindly to him. To me, they look like Carja. There is also a slick possibility they could be Banuk, but there is no telling.

Still cant believe how far you have reached, I used to watch your video during midnight before sleep trying to decipher meanings behind all these hidden lore within the game. Could be like God of War 2, where Kratos loses his armor after the battle with the Colossus of Rhodes. Maybe Aloy's armor gets destroyed/damaged in a battle with a new machine that came from the forbidden west and that might be why she set out towards F.W to find out more about them. Or maybe it isn't compatible with the weather of F.W. Or perhaps the devs thought having S.W from the beginning would make her too OP.
@@liberalistbat6352 Yeah. Or it could be the spear Sylens gave Aloy wasn't his real spear, just a copy. Like he made a copy spear with a built-in program that when Aloy stabs HADES, allowed/forced HADES to return to Sylens using his original spear as a homing device. I always wondered why it returned to Sylens at the end of HZD. Could be HADES voluntarily returned or could be it was forced to.
iirc, the Nora Brave outfit is just the default major cutscene outfit, since during the cutscene that plays just before the final fight with HADES and I believe during the final scene as shes riding to Elisabet's grave, she wears that outfit no matter what you have equipped
2:20 also Transamerica pyramid @ 1 O'clock. Fun fact: it was initially going to be much taller to rival east coast's ESB in New York, but due to public outcry it never got it's original height along with a glory.
I would like to see the climbing everywhere feature but implemented in the right way where instead of limiting where the player can travel by texturing walls different depending on whether you can climb or not they make everything a natural texture that blends in with unclimbable walls but it will just make you move on one path like with the current set handholds but just a little more freely so that you don’t run into areas where you get stuck or go to where an objective isn’t.
It’s her signature outfit. I believe they may show is more outfits in later trailers, like how the trailers for HZD showed off the Nora Protector outfit
Not really that weird, there's only three major outfits that you can get in the story I'm pretty sure, and that's the ancient armor which is just her base nora armor you start with, covered in the advanced armor. Her Base suit you start with, which is what was shown. And the Banuk Chieftain armor. It makes sense that they would just go with the most basic.
The red weed from the War of the Worlds. The turtle from the Neverending story (Moya in the swamps of sadness). The mammoths from the LOTR. So many fibes from the trailer and all are awesome.
Of course a new armor would make sense to us but in "reality" Aloy never changed it. You can see that in many cutscenes for example in the ending cutscene where Aloy visits Elizabeth's "grave". So it's only natural that she still wears it.
Thanks a lot for this. It's good to know there is a place on RUclips where I can got to get all the Horizon stories. :-) One thing that I found interesting and that you don't seem to have touched upon: there is a disease spreading throughout the world. I would assume that this is the reason that Aloy goes west - to try andstop the disease. That tribes person who dug out that root surely was sad because of the decay all around. The red plants/vines seem to be causing it. Also, it was so touching to see Aloy feel sorry for that dying fox.
The game isn't just the San Francisco area. As we can see in the climbing sequence it shows what looks like el capitan and half dome in yosemite national Park. As well as the solar panals in a later desert scene. I think this is the state of navada near to Las Vegas.
I think the location goes between nevada and California, nevada as the desert part of the video and obviously california as we see san Francisco but we also get to see the Yosemite Valley in the part where alloy is climbing
I remember when I first started playing Horizon Zero Dawn in 2018 I would always come to this channel to watch some videos about it. Can't wait til the sequel will come out.
It's interesting that you mention the climbing dynamics of the game appearing to be enhanced. It makes sense. HZD was the first game in a projected trilogy, so Sony understandably wasn't going to invest a whole ton of money into a game they had no idea would perform both in terms of play and in sales. It's not like BotW because Nintendo knows their Zelda games will always be hits, so there's so much money put into those games. Now that Sony knows the Horizon franchise is incredibly viable, of course Guerrilla got more funding for it.
At 4:15, I think they still attack underwater but hiding in the seaweed gives some form of stealth. Storywise, how crazy would it be if those 3 meteors are actually "old ones" that fled to space a thousand years ago returning to Earth
One think about the "overridden" machine with yellow eyes. In the game yellow just means it's suspicious, red means it's hostile. So the video doesn't mean Sylens actually overrided that boar. Just like how hostile machines go to yellow when you disappear from their sight.
@@GhostInPajamas not an archer myself, but if you look at professional archers, they always aim from the cheek, since you align your sight with the arrow's direction. Moreover, in the first game, Aloy actually does aim correctly. This makes the last scene look strange in the trailer

@JorRaptor - Well done for guessing the title "Forbidden West" 2 years ago based on clues in the game, I subscribed just because of that - that's some serious detective work!!
Just played through HZD for the first time. There's a conversation at the very end of the Frozen Wilds expansion that seems to connect to this trailer, especially to that strange red plant growing everywhere. Aloy says something like: "An AI that makes flowers instead of machines. Sounds nice!" So, she may be running into Demeter in HFW. Also (spoilers here), I suspect Sylens added a little something to the master override when he copied it to a new focus for Aloy, something that would allow some reduced version of Hades to survive and force it to transfer itself into Sylens' control.
As i mentioned in a comment on the trailer, i hope that we get to see actual small arms like pre-collapse assault rifles, pistols, shotguns and more in forbidden west that you're able to craft ammo for and aren't just disposable, drop-when-dry (dry=out of ammo) heavy weapons. As i said over there, it would be delusional if aloy didn't gain thee knowledge of at least some pre-collapse firearms after having so many interactions with pre-collapse electronics and the data they contain.
I wonder why nobody noticed the El Capitan in the background when Aloy was climbing that mountain. So this obviously takes place in a large area of California and, like in the Frozen Wilds the Yellowstone Park was to be discovered, here it is Yosemite. I believe that we will get activities similar to the ones in Frozen Wilds, based on this national park.
The first one ended perfectly and didn't think they'd be a sequel. I was hoping for one. As soon I heard the soundtrack in the reveal I was fangirling with so much hype.
I glad it isnt called Horizon Zero Dawn 2 for two reasons. 1) that's be kinda redundant but more importantly 2) Horizon is the series name whole Zero Dawn was the tagline. Think of it like Horizon: Zero Dawn & Horizon 2: Forbidden West

The armor set is just to show the character in the trailer as she is. Just like the first one.

One of the toughest boss fight I came across with on any game I've played ever

I’m thinking HFW will release early to mid 2021, A lot of the assets have already been developed for the first, so subsequent developments will be far easier and quicker to develop.

Typical Gaming yeah for sure, Sony wouldn’t want to blow their load immediately, give some breathing room between these first party releases. It makes the jump into next gen far more interesting and more of a long term experience.

Btw the Utaru in ZD were described as peaceful plainswalkers and during the Red raids tried to appease the mad sun King with gifts and didn't fight back when attacked, so I feel it's unlikely that they are the faction we see in the trailer. But they could be a splinter group like the Shadow Carja where?

In the announcement trailer of Horizon forbidden west, at 1:55 you can see a Chinese writing and right behind the writing there are playing cards, which indicates that it was once a casino or the Chinese writing says “playground”
Things I hope to see in Horizon II: Forbidden West
1. Dialogue and choices that effect the story and characters
2. Larger customisable options for Aloy’s outfits, weapons and face paint
3. The ability to romance certain characters
4. The spear is cool but I’d love to see Aloy wield a sword
5. Side missions that have super secret special unlockables
6. More mounts (maybe water mobile or airborne machines)
7. The ability to craft special gear, weapons and tools or upgrades
8. Aloy learns more about the “old ones” and facts that debunk what some of the tribes believe

10. To see a Metal Devil come to life

I can’t wait to see gameplay.
3:19 I doubt that this was an ancient war machine. The structures looks pretty organic, almost like corals. And there is only one plausible explanation for this purple glow: Hepheastus. We saw similar phenomena in the Frozen wilds DLC, like the Daemonic machines that were also covered in some sort of purple wiring. These coral shapes could also hint that some of gaias subfunctions are fusing with each other, like hepheastus and poseidon. Just look at the huge robotic snapping turtle, it is an amphibious animal that can both life in the water and outside of it. If the subfunctions fuse, then this could mean that they become more advanced and sentient but maybe also a bit chaotic.
I started watching you way back when the original released in early 2017, I'm not too into AC but over the years I've watched your God of War, Spiderman, Jedi: Fallen Order, Ghost of Tsushima, and Avengers videos. It's crazy that we're now approaching HZD2 ,and that The Last of Us 2 releases in just a few days. Time really flies. Thank you for making such fun videos, guides, and tips and tricks. I really can't wait for this game. I only got this game (Zero Dawn) because I wanted a new game with bow mechanics, and I've known it had really good graphics and I'm a sucker for good looking games.
But I fell in love with the aesthetic, and the story of Aloy and the people she meets while uncovering who she really is, so much so I've played this game more than once just to re experience the story. I can't wait to return to this series
As much as I love this 10/10 game, I do wish for more customizations on weapons and armor. Perhaps maybe color shaders which can be made or gathered and apply it too a shader socket on a gear piece.
I can't believe the time is running so fast. I remember playing Horizon for the first time and later that week watching your tips and tricks videos on the game. I have watched your channel grow from 20 k subs to almost 500k and i am proud to be here since that time. Keep up the good work jordan.
If you explore some ruins and find the sound clips and stuff you find out that in order to help with project enduring victory, they set the pacific trash island on fire to help slow down the hoard and it eventually washed up on the shore of the west coast so I really can't wait to see the remnants of that.

Idk... the Tenakth were literal cannibals and were likely the most primitive of all the other tribes. I dont think they would've taken too kindly to him. To me, they look like Carja. There is also a slick possibility they could be Banuk, but there is no telling.
Colour scheme is off. The Tenakth are blue and red. These guys look different.

Could be like God of War 2, where Kratos loses his armor after the battle with the Colossus of Rhodes. Maybe Aloy's armor gets destroyed/damaged in a battle with a new machine that came from the forbidden west and that might be why she set out towards F.W to find out more about them. Or maybe it isn't compatible with the weather of F.W. Or perhaps the devs thought having S.W from the beginning would make her too OP.

@@liberalistbat6352 Yeah. Or it could be the spear Sylens gave Aloy wasn't his real spear, just a copy. Like he made a copy spear with a built-in program that when Aloy stabs HADES, allowed/forced HADES to return to Sylens using his original spear as a homing device. I always wondered why it returned to Sylens at the end of HZD. Could be HADES voluntarily returned or could be it was forced to.
@@d3mystic93 yeah if u see random side quest the Lance was made to send Hades back he tricked aloy
iirc, the Nora Brave outfit is just the default major cutscene outfit, since during the cutscene that plays just before the final fight with HADES and I believe during the final scene as shes riding to Elisabet's grave, she wears that outfit no matter what you have equipped
That sphere has the Master override that was used to defeat HADES right. So Sylens can override any mechine.
The override was for people with alpha logins. Even after using it, Aloy has to login to hades to issue a shut down. Sylens doesn't have that

Fun fact: it was initially going to be much taller to rival east coast's ESB in New York, but due to public outcry it never got it's original height along with a glory.
I would like to see the climbing everywhere feature but implemented in the right way where instead of limiting where the player can travel by texturing walls different depending on whether you can climb or not they make everything a natural texture that blends in with unclimbable walls but it will just make you move on one path like with the current set handholds but just a little more freely so that you don’t run into areas where you get stuck or go to where an objective isn’t.

It’s her signature outfit. I believe they may show is more outfits in later trailers, like how the trailers for HZD showed off the Nora Protector outfit
Not really that weird, there's only three major outfits that you can get in the story I'm pretty sure, and that's the ancient armor which is just her base nora armor you start with, covered in the advanced armor. Her Base suit you start with, which is what was shown. And the Banuk Chieftain armor. It makes sense that they would just go with the most basic.
The red weed from the War of the Worlds.
The turtle from the Neverending story (Moya in the swamps of sadness).
The mammoths from the LOTR.
So many fibes from the trailer and all are awesome.
Of course a new armor would make sense to us but in "reality" Aloy never changed it. You can see that in many cutscenes for example in the ending cutscene where Aloy visits Elizabeth's "grave". So it's only natural that she still wears it.

Though it would still be cool to maybe see some small pauldrons made of scrap metal, or just some tiny bits of extra armor to better protect Aloy...

But hey at least they changed the bow. It was annoying to see Aloy use different bow you didn't have in that form in cutscenes.

It's good to know there is a place on RUclips where I can got to get all the Horizon stories. :-) One thing that I found interesting and that you don't seem to have touched upon: there is a disease spreading throughout the world. I would assume that this is the reason that Aloy goes west - to try andstop the disease. That tribes person who dug out that root surely was sad because of the decay all around. The red plants/vines seem to be causing it. Also, it was so touching to see Aloy feel sorry for that dying fox.
The game isn't just the San Francisco area. As we can see in the climbing sequence it shows what looks like el capitan and half dome in yosemite national Park. As well as the solar panals in a later desert scene. I think this is the state of navada near to Las Vegas.

I think the location goes between nevada and California, nevada as the desert part of the video and obviously california as we see san Francisco but we also get to see the Yosemite Valley in the part where alloy is climbing

It's interesting that you mention the climbing dynamics of the game appearing to be enhanced. It makes sense. HZD was the first game in a projected trilogy, so Sony understandably wasn't going to invest a whole ton of money into a game they had no idea would perform both in terms of play and in sales. It's not like BotW because Nintendo knows their Zelda games will always be hits, so there's so much money put into those games. Now that Sony knows the Horizon franchise is incredibly viable, of course Guerrilla got more funding for it.

At 4:15, I think they still attack underwater but hiding in the seaweed gives some form of stealth. Storywise, how crazy would it be if those 3 meteors are actually "old ones" that fled to space a thousand years ago returning to Earth
One think about the "overridden" machine with yellow eyes. In the game yellow just means it's suspicious, red means it's hostile. So the video doesn't mean Sylens actually overrided that boar. Just like how hostile machines go to yellow when you disappear from their sight.
Did not mention the crops and the red plants.

Good point. I don’t know much about archery but maybe there are some circumstances where shooting from the chest has advantages
@@GhostInPajamas not an archer myself, but if you look at professional archers, they always aim from the cheek, since you align your sight with the arrow's direction. Moreover, in the first game, Aloy actually does aim correctly. This makes the last scene look strange in the trailer
I'm guessing it's just if you press shoot without ads. So basically just a quick shot not a precision shot. Still strange tho.
My last playthrough was December 2017. Just beat the frozen wilds last night and can't wait for the new game!

@JorRaptor - Well done for guessing the title "Forbidden West" 2 years ago based on clues in the game, I subscribed just because of that - that's some serious detective work!!
Just played through HZD for the first time. There's a conversation at the very end of the Frozen Wilds expansion that seems to connect to this trailer, especially to that strange red plant growing everywhere. Aloy says something like: "An AI that makes flowers instead of machines. Sounds nice!"
So, she may be running into Demeter in HFW.
Also (spoilers here), I suspect Sylens added a little something to the master override when he copied it to a new focus for Aloy, something that would allow some reduced version of Hades to survive and force it to transfer itself into Sylens' control.
As i mentioned in a comment on the trailer, i hope that we get to see actual small arms like pre-collapse assault rifles, pistols, shotguns and more in forbidden west that you're able to craft ammo for and aren't just disposable, drop-when-dry (dry=out of ammo) heavy weapons. As i said over there, it would be delusional if aloy didn't gain thee knowledge of at least some pre-collapse firearms after having so many interactions with pre-collapse electronics and the data they contain.

I wonder why nobody noticed the El Capitan in the background when Aloy was climbing that mountain. So this obviously takes place in a large area of California and, like in the Frozen Wilds the Yellowstone Park was to be discovered, here it is Yosemite. I believe that we will get activities similar to the ones in Frozen Wilds, based on this national park.

I glad it isnt called Horizon Zero Dawn 2 for two reasons. 1) that's be kinda redundant but more importantly 2) Horizon is the series name whole Zero Dawn was the tagline. Think of it like Horizon: Zero Dawn & Horizon 2: Forbidden West

Fun fact:most machines in this game will be inspired of the comic The footage captured in the trailer is actually already developed cutscences In the game and I am pretty sure the tribe we will be focusing on this game is the Utalru it's pretty cool I just hope we get more variety in quests especially side quests not that they were bad in the 1st game
In zero dawn I don't actually use the shield weaver armour. I use the bank chieftain armour as it regenerates health after a short time
