Yoo. In the first Game they wanted to make Aloy special, for example she would be the only to ride machines. But now in the second game, seems to me that other characters can ride machines now. So if they wanna make Aloy special... it would be nice she would be the only she can fly, like override a flying machine. Dont you agree??????

I really love how guerrilla names the machines, they make the names primitive, short, descriptive and mythical, which fits really well with the tribal setting of the world, makes sense with how these people have next to no previous knowledge of what animals were named and really adds to the immersion when playing!

Same here. Bought it on a whim on 2/28 so I had something to play until 3/3, due to how hyped for BotW that I was. I ended up liking Horizon way more. BotW was great, but not a 10/10 like I see everywhere.
When I played HZD, the convenience of fast travel made me realise I couldn't even traverse the HZD geography without getting lost and/or looking at my map every second. So, I committed to a "no fast travel" playthrough, and in due time, I found myself getting a lot more familiar traveling around the world. It's very time consuming but I found it very rewarding. Looking forward to exploring HZD: FW without fast travel LOL
Hmm..since those birds are called Sun Wings they most likely collect the sun's energy for heat based ammunition(as well as energy to operate), especially with the wings looking like solar panels.
Maybe the sunwings hadn't detected Aloy yet, in the first game we always see machines with blue eyes when in a 'calm' state, so assuming they might've been overridden is somewhat of a stretch
6:36 I just want to point out the scaling in this image. The bird in front is way closer to the camera than the bird on the plane, yet it only seems slightly bigger in this picture. So that would mean that the bird on top of the plane is physically substantially bigger than the flying one, does that mean it's a different kind of machine that looks similar? Or do we get a size variable, that some machines of the same kind are bigger than others?

Here is something I would actually like to see..., after you override a particular machine they should follow you at least for a while, than it makes it worth the effort risking and trying to keep it alive so it actually assist you in your journey,.. (same way you whistle for a mount etc) as overriding the other machine was a bit lackluster as once that fight was finished... then what, why have the ability to repair them.. was kinda a waste of a mechanism in the skill tree... like shooting from the tightrope lol

Horizon on PC has way more advantages though: better graphics, 60+FPS, faster loading screens (5-10s if Guerilla optimizes it well) and it will even open up the opportunity to get mods into Horizon (if they don't block it, if they do, fuck them)
I remember when I first encountered a stormbird. Scared the shit out of me. It wasn't one of those ones you can see flying above as you approach it's spawn area. I was exploring, and encountered the one near a mountaintop that triggers a little cutscenes of it flying out of the shadows.
Hope they fixed the problem where you need a machine part for a special weapon, go to the place where the quarry is and it's either not there or doesn't yield the part you need.
Been replaying horizon since the trailer dropped. Dont sleep on the Shadow Tripcaster, stacking explosive tripwires and luring bigger machines is a godsend.

It would make sense for it to be a February release date, because studios release game series on specific months of the year. They like to have full years gaps rather than 4 and a half year gaps, so I expect a release date for Horizon 2 around late February or early March
I think draw distance was a major reason they didn’t have flying in the original game. Cuz if you wanted to fly at the speed that a stormbird flies, the game wold be popping everything in like crazy.

I'm hoping that we can also visit the old map if we want, with more quests there. Then again, I would love to visit The Claim, Plainsong and Ban-Ur. If the backwards compatibility is true, I would love it if my inventory copied over because I spent ages making sure that I had at least one lens, heart, and bone of all of the machines/animals. I read in an article that that was something they were thinking about but that would have been if it was a PS4 game.
Yeah they will likely improve upon it. Climbing might be everywhere in the map instead of dedicated paths, combat will have at least more melee weapons and I hope just more RPG customization so we can make cool builds etc.
This game was absolutely breath-taking, the combat, the lore, the graphics, and the environment were all absolutely beautiful. I have replayed this game over a dozen times because its just that good and I am beside myself with excitement for the new one to come out! is it 2021 yet?!
People may not realize this but this game has been in development alongside the first game and could launch by June 2021. I'm not holding my breath though because this game is very ambitious.
At least I'll have Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed Valhalla and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga to keep me busy until Horizon: Forbidden West comes out.
Can't wait for Horizon. I think with PS5 tech Aquaman would be a good superhero game for WB. Going from a huge underwater world to land with no pop in. I think that character would be a good choice to show off tech. Lots of sick games coming though.
What if parts of the story or world would allow you to upgrade your focus? Such as giving farther scanning distance or weak points stay highlighted on screen for a longer amount of time after closing the focus.

I liked the concept of GAIA creating the machines to help aid the healing of the planet... there was a reason behind why most machines existed although I felt they kinda neglected it to create "Cooler" and "more challenging" machines towards the end. Lets hope they don't do that too much with this new game.
Alright let's get this started. I'm hoping for more than just a, basically, horse type machine to get around. I would love to see the chocobo from the first game (I forgot the name of them) would be a cool mount. Also the ability maybe make our own "custom" machines maybe but that's bit to OP unless you made it unlockable after like a new game plus type deal or whatever. But on the topic of the blue lights on the machines. I think it's just because they are purely passive. It's been a minute since I've been able to play Zero Dawn but if I remember correctly the machines that hung out with the Banuk had blue eyes and never attacked any of the Banuk hunters that walked around with them. So maybe blue=chill, yellow=be careful, and we all know the law of guns. Red is dead. Edit: back the mounts thing why not just make all overridden machines ridable unless they're just to small like the Watchers are.
I hope they added in the flying mounts. With the SSD, it should be no problem loading in the game super fast as you fly over. I hope they have some insect machines. if not, maybe in the 3rd game. Centipedes, Spiders, etc. I hate them in real life, but seeing them in this game would be freaky asf and add such a sick horror factor

I'm also very exited for the game, but I must admit that I'm secptical about the underwater parts. In all the games I played so far it did nor really work out. I also doubt that they introduce flying mounts. You would skip most or all of the encounters as well as miss out on tons of ressources.
Super excited about Horizon Forbidden West. I have tons of PS4 games I have not finished so I am planning on purchasing my PS5 when Horizon FW is released. I am guessing we will see this game in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2021. Excited to see the new machines and hope all the old ones return. I also hope the map style remains the same...Horizon ZD's map style is my favorite map style in an open world game. Just so much to look forward to. Hopefully the rumors are true and Guerrilla Games is in fact working on SOCOM.
In early videos of the development of HZD when they only had Meridian, the model of Aloy and little more they had a flying machine that you can ride, there's an official video when they show it

they need machines that are passive even with you surrounding them but once hurt attack, rather than everything just getting mad on sight
What if parts of the story or world would allow you to upgrade your focus? Such as giving farther scanning distance or weak points stay highlighted on screen for a longer amount of time after closing the focus.

I liked the concept of GAIA creating the machines to help aid the healing of the planet... there was a reason behind why most machines existed although I felt they kinda neglected it to create "Cooler" and "more challenging" machines towards the end. Lets hope they don't do that too much with this new game.
Alright let's get this started. I'm hoping for more than just a, basically, horse type machine to get around. I would love to see the chocobo from the first game (I forgot the name of them) would be a cool mount. Also the ability maybe make our own "custom" machines maybe but that's bit to OP unless you made it unlockable after like a new game plus type deal or whatever. But on the topic of the blue lights on the machines. I think it's just because they are purely passive. It's been a minute since I've been able to play Zero Dawn but if I remember correctly the machines that hung out with the Banuk had blue eyes and never attacked any of the Banuk hunters that walked around with them. So maybe blue=chill, yellow=be careful, and we all know the law of guns. Red is dead.
Edit: back the mounts thing why not just make all overridden machines ridable unless they're just to small like the Watchers are.
I hope they added in the flying mounts. With the SSD, it should be no problem loading in the game super fast as you fly over.
I hope they have some insect machines. if not, maybe in the 3rd game. Centipedes, Spiders, etc. I hate them in real life, but seeing them in this game would be freaky asf and add such a sick horror factor
I’m just now finishing the 1st game and damn idk how I didn’t beat it when I 1st got it on ps4, it’s amazing . I can’t wait for number 2 and the lore is just mind blowing .

I'm also very exited for the game, but I must admit that I'm secptical about the underwater parts. In all the games I played so far it did nor really work out. I also doubt that they introduce flying mounts. You would skip most or all of the encounters as well as miss out on tons of ressources.

Super excited about Horizon Forbidden West. I have tons of PS4 games I have not finished so I am planning on purchasing my PS5 when Horizon FW is released. I am guessing we will see this game in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2021.
Excited to see the new machines and hope all the old ones return. I also hope the map style remains the same...Horizon ZD's map style is my favorite map style in an open world game. Just so much to look forward to.
