  • Steinmeier opened with vivid descriptions of the horrors of war, noting that it had caused "the deepest crisis" that a reunified Germany has seen. He warned that "tougher, rough years are ahead of us."
The speech came at a time of uncertainly for Germany, and Steinmeier touched on many of the issues weighing on the minds of many people in the country. These included a cost of living crisis amidst soaring inflation and an energy crunch, as well as the war in Ukraine.

We did prepare for many year.
Did you think all our windmiles in denmark was because they looked good 🤣
Germany still needs 6 years to make a bigger cable to get the green energy we have from scandinavia.
But a new gasline they make in days in germany 🤣
Germany treats gas like its corona vacines, they want it all.
And without germany the war would bot have crossed the border into eu from ukraine
Its all thanks to greedy germans wanting gas from rusia..
Germany even waited with giving airdefence to ukraine, so they could get more gas
Germany is veryfast removing it self from its closest alies
And is once again becomming the most hated country in europe
(Even if we country the european part of rusia)
All the money germany shipped to rusia even long after the war stared, was used to fight ukraine and its alies..
You need to be german or amarican to se this is bringing anyone closer to eachother.
Because it is very close to bring down more then its own economy.
And it is fast becoming enemys with its partners and alies

    • @saba1030

      @Tony Fei
      1. The Federal President is the head of the State, it's the "moral instance" and for representation and certain laws have to be signed by him as well and he can stop bills from becoming laws, if they don't go along with the German Constitution. So he has power, but a bit different.
      2. The Speaker of the Federal Parliament (Bundestag).
      3. The Federal Chancelor is the head of the Gvt.
As Germany is Federal (16 Federal States) there is the Bundestag (Federal Parliament) and the Bundesrat (Federal Upper House), where the 16 Federal State Ministers are in. Some laws have to be confirmed not only by the Parliament, but also by the Federal Upper House (Bundesrat).
      Greetings from Germany

The President is Head of State, they are a unifying figure and symbolise Germany in the country and abroad. They are often elected by cross party consensus for their 5 year term by a special assembly of MPs and state delegates.
The Chancellor is the political head of Germany, making all the political decisions, negotiating, and are thus more divisive than the President. They are elected by Parliament, after the parliamentary elections, in a partisan election which involves parties negotiating policy positions and cabinet ministries in return for supporting a specific chancellor candidate- once elected they meet with the President who officially appoints them and their ministers.
Things like Veto power (only for unconstitutional laws) and pardon power (but only with the chancellors signature) also belong to the President.

@@JanChrissD The roles of these presidents and especially the monarchs in some countries is outdated and we should simply phase these things out by now. A country needs a prime minister that is the head of the party that won the most recent elections. Having a president also is a bit irrational because then it's not clear which one of them (prime minister or president) is making the choices and if they need to agree or not. So if I had my way, every country would have a prime minister or a president, but not both. And kings and queens belong to Netflix but not in real life 2022.

Listening to the president, I could not help picking up what he actually meant with change was to prepare Germany for the future, and the future will mean military - military defense and to become an EU military powerhouse again... it's a change in mindset to forget the past and start preparing its military stance in EU once again. Some interesting pieces of his speech - one era comes to an end and new one starts (peace to aggressive stance) ... see more clearly what is required from us (change its peace mindset to survival) ... not live in fear (investing in military). This is a message of preparation, getting back its power, so this never happens again... Europe, the continent is a mess, its infested with dictators and terrorist, it's in complete anarchy and out of control, unstable, it's a danger to the world and humankind, and needs liberation and unification, it needs a leader, it needs Germany back
