That girl is Shruti Hassan, his eldest daughter. She too is a trained singer and actor. Ilayaraja made Kamal sing the last verse of the first song again because he felt Kamal didn't sing it right. So Kamal said that this is how Ilayaraja made him a singer. Ilayaraja wouldn't let him till he sang it right. The second song is from his 70s movie "Sikapu Rojakkal". The original version was sung by Kamal and S. Janaki madam in Ilayaraja's composition. Now he is singing it after 30 years along with his daughter to honour Ilayaraja.
Shruthi Hassan pure talent like her father(musician, actor,dancer n singer)..And especially she has an amazing n unique voice as a singer..
But sad part is she as a singer has not been utilized properly in Indian cinema 😑
