I’ve watched a lot of golf instructional videos and taken a few lessons but the way you explain things makes more sense and made more difference in my swing than any others including live lessons.
Hey Larry, I've been working on your build your swing series, and have actually started getting some divots (very unusual for me), even before watching this video. I just wanted to take time to thank you for providing such quality instruction in an easy to access and understand format. I feel like I should owe you money at this point. Now off to find some content about making the driver hit some fairways......
I wanted to thank you Larry for your videos. I've watched just about all off them. and my swing has improved. I've had issues with trying to create lag for power which caused a lot of bend in my elbow. my intial back swing started with my arms again thinking power comes from the arms that caused an out to in path. my transition from the down swing started with my arms which i chunked alot or topped. now i start with my lead shoulder which helps me think about rotation vs hands. so much power and little effort. i keep my weight on my heels which helps with leaning forward. My obliques and glutes feel it cause i engage them now. i video tape all my swings and see the progression. thanks so much. my driver doesnt slice anymore too.(aslong as i follow the program.)
Qual as always Larry. I was clean striking due to early extension. You videos on how to load the rear glute and turn with more weight in the rear foot has helped no end! Top stuff as always👍
What a great lesson. I didn't realize that since my lead shoulder wasn't staying low and through long enough, I was early releasing and at times hit fat. This is an awesome tip for someone like me. I shot an 83 today but really had to pay attention to stay in the shot. Had I known this and been deliberate in working the lead shoulder through, results would have been better with all my shots. Find out tomorrow at a different course. Thank you very much for sharing!
One more thing Larry is it possible to do a video on the proper follow through in the golf swing? Mainly what the hands are doing post impact. Thank you!
Hey Whisker it's Bandit here (currently in hiding on MrsBandits computer), ...yep definitely think that Larry is spying on us. PS I think that Larry's drills only work if we grow our hair, so I'm currently trying to grow my ear & nose hair so that I can knit myself a full head of hair. At the current rate of grow I should be ok in about 10 years!!!!!!!!
Excellent reminder vid Larry, the part of the sequence I am struggling with currently, and is resulting in variable strike qualit,y is while progressing through the turn, matching up addition of pushing with the back foot and making a well timed extension - this has been leading to quite a few funky tops when I try on course
I’m trying this as a left handed and I’m taking a divot now but hitting the ball directly to the right, and I feel like I’m coming over the top. Hopefully I can dial the turning right back some to straighten out the shot.
I have continued with your lesson here and I'm finally getting it. My impact is much better and this seems to have corrected a number of issues I''m having....... Thanks
Thanks Larry! I struggle with sweeping so I'm really looking forward to trying this out. Should I still have the "down and around" feeling when hitting a hybrid or driver?
As the Membership Sec of SAS (Sweepers Anonymous Society), I wish to lodge a complaint! If you carry on like this Larry we ain't gonna have any members left! I have been struggling to take a divot for years, (the only time I take an actual divot is when I hit a massive fat shot). I'm trying this drill out, but I am struggling to keep my lead shoulder down in the downswing, it automatically wants to "lift" as my trail shoulder drops. Any suggestions, please?
if doing this makes you very out to in, then it may mean that trying to hit down on the ball is not the most important piece you should be working on =)
@@LarryCheungGolf Worked on keeping my head over my pelvis last night and contact and rotation was much better. I have a tendency for my head to move away from the target in my back swing and then back up even more thru impact.

Good to hear you're enjoying it!! if your swing is good, it will work regardless of club in hand =)

Wow it's like you're speaking directly at my swing. I always throw my hips towards the target as my first movement. Now I know what I have to work on!

The two times thus far that I have implemented the stock 40 yrd shot (58deg) with your technique, it has resulted in an easy birdie. Thanks
Dude. This is spot on. Describes why I have almost no divot and stand up during impact. Can’t wait to get down and around. 😃
Hope it goes well =)
It’s like you did this tip just for me Larry! Thanks for another awesome insight.
Haha hope it will help!
Definitely trying this next time on the range. Thank you for sharing your ideas. Cheers from Colorado!!
Hope it will go well =)
Thanks for this Larry. Your channel's gonna keep growing with the quality content you produce!
Thanks =) That's the plan!!!
brilliant video I can see what I have been doing for the past 15 years.
Ahh...If only you told us this.... years ago!!
Once again, thanks for this Larry. 👍

I'll put that on the list =P
Larry are you spying on us, stop picking on our faults😂👍 Thanks for drill Larry, great channel!

@@LarryCheungGolf I will keep trying for sure - hopefully the Mizzy 919 forged's that arrived yesterday will inspire me :)
Love it, I have a set of Mizzy 919 tours coming =)
awesome, those are beaut @@LarryCheungGolf . Took the forgies to the Sim yesterday and the feel is epic and going the Modus3 Tour 120 shafts too
Larry Cheung Golf tours arrived yet? Seem to be working a treat for Brooks
That is some world class floor Larry... 👍
Great Vid Larry! Can I request you doing a swing analysis on yourself from both angles. I think it’d be great for us to refer to !
Good idea, will put that on the list =P
Great video Larry!
Great video! Thanks for making this!
great vid Larry
Dude when you lean like that I thought I was watching the Michael Jackson thriller video! Haha Thanks this was great!

depends, hard to say without knowing how you swing =)
Can you show us tips for hybrid, and long woods it will be great 👍🏼
Will do, but important to note the swing is the same, if the swing is good with the irons, it will be good for everything else =)
Thanks Larry! :)
Can you show how to hit power fades?
Maybe one day =P
Would this work for topping on fairway woods as well?
This isn't the fix for everything haha, but it could if you top fairways woods due to you tilting back so much =P

Exaggerate =)
Thank you!
Larry. Thanks but do you have any drills to help with this??
Exaggerating the movement in this video would be the drill =)
Larry Cheung Golf Very good. Thanks
Hi Larry when I try this my swing path becomes severely out to in.... am I missing something or is this natural when people first try this feel?
if doing this makes you very out to in, then it may mean that trying to hit down on the ball is not the most important piece you should be working on =)
So 5 deg down for 7 iron is good right, my long iron 4 is around 3 deg down
depends on the person =P
Larry, I lift my upper body (early extension) in the back swing. Why do you think this is happening? thanks.
Hard to say without knowing how you swing haha =P
I try to have the feeling of tilting a lot especially with my long irons and seem to have be decent results. Should I not do that?
If your are happy with how you hit it, then maybe you don't have to change =)
@@LarryCheungGolf thanks. Love your content
Larry: unsure if you’re aware, but you have a divot on top of your head! Just kidding! Great content!
I have been struggling with some topped and thin shots this spring. Could these also be caused by pulling my hands down early?
Yup, it could! =)
