    This was the single biggest improvement I made in my game this year.
    Amazing how much stress it takes off your game as well, knowing you have the shot, and you don't even need to hit it perfectly to get a pretty good result. Love it!

    I follow a number of RUclips golf instructors, and, for me, your instruction on wedge play is the clearest, most concise, most effective teaching I have seen. You have improved my wedge game immensely. Thank you so much, Mr. Cheung! You are a true gem.

    Larry, just came here to say I started to do this just as you prescribed and I've never hit my shots inside 100 better than this. Taking a half to half PW to a 100 yard flag today... pitched to 5ft! Normally I'd wack a SW up there but the lower flight was lovely and it still stopped on a dime - something I definitely didn't expect! Great advice, thanks!

    Tried this approach and love it. Last week I had a usually terrifying chip from the rough over a bunker onto a tight green. I just focused on this movement. Caught it a little heavy...and jarred it. I owe you a beer Larry.

    Love the channel. One item Im having trouble with is comments such as 1:30 mark which talk about the straight line from basically shoulder to club. Depending on shoulder width that angle could be substantial increased or decreased by several degrees. For example I have pretty wide shoulders for my height thus the shaft would much greater and ball position much further back. When I have followed that advice I chunked that ball negating the bounce. I have significant trouble with setup advice that seem to negate natural variation in physiology. I think the best the is for me to fly there get lessons from you and get fitted for clubs. Setup is really a struggle for me . Keep up the great videos!

    Have you got any drills Larry to fix a thin shot? I’m flat in my backswing and hit it out the heel with a closed clubface at the top....

    • @LarryCheungGolf
      @LarryCheungGolf  6 лет назад

      Tigerburningbright I’d do wide half swings to start and try to transfer to the full swing. If you want a easy fix feel, I would take a 7 iron, try putting the ball in the back of the stance, then hit a full speed punch shot, downhinging and releasing all your angles into the ball into a punch long arm finish and see what happens :)

    Larry - Came across your videos recently as a result of TXG and others. Great stuff. I love the idea of the wedge system, but am having a hard time implementing. I play off 6 and have always played shots 100 yards and in mostly on feel without a real system, so some days I'm a sniper and others I'm completely lost. Looking for more consistency, I tried this during a practice session today and found that my "waist high to waist high" swing only resulted in about 5 to 8 yards of difference between my 60, 56 and 52 degree wedges. What can I do to spread that out? Also, do you recommend 50, 54, and 58 for high swing speed guys? (120mph with driver). Keep up the great content.

    • @LarryCheungGolf

    Hey Larry.. been lovin your vids. Fantastic fresh perspective. Definitely gonna try this out. One question.. on ‘feeling no hinge..’ it looks like you’re hinging and the straight line becomes 90 degree angle at the top.. what am i missing? Is it just a feel but not what happens?

    Off a mat my wedge system numbers are very consistent. Off grass it varies quite a bit. Find myself short more often than not. Any thoughts on that? I know I should practice on grass more but it’s not as accessible.
    Thanks Larry. Love the content and the idea behind this. Just having trouble with the execution.

    Ureka moment, you my man have probably saved me 5 shots a round. Any difference in this approach if you use different shafts between your set wedges and your specialist wedges. I’m heading out right now to give this a go

    • @LarryCheungGolf
      @LarryCheungGolf  6 лет назад +1

      Matthew Priestley haha that’s good to hear, you’ll have to experiment and find out. My first thought would be minimal difference when it comes to the distance, feel would be different but at these partial speeds, the distance differences should be minimal

    • @matthewpriestley7202
      @matthewpriestley7202 6 лет назад

      Larry Cheung Golf This worked like a charm. I play Modus 105 X stiff and soft stepped x2 in my 50* and 54* then Modus wedge 125 in 58*. This system felt amazing with the Modus Wedge 125 but the soft stepped wedges went -4 offline (I’m right handed). Swapped out my 54* with one that had Modus Wedge 125 and my 50* to standard Modus 105 X as well as added 9 iron and I’m 0 offline and hitting the exact distances up to 100 yards. Cheers mate, I’m now a subscriber for life

    • @LarryCheungGolf

      Matthew Priestley that’s great! I love that you were able to come up with a quantified conclusion on your own for what works better!!! I appreciate the support :)

      Larry Cheung Golf The “L” or draw side spin was much more with the soft stepped clubs. Path was a bit more neutral too. Crazy how club fitting can play a big role in small shots like these. Dream partnership between you and TXG. Thanks again

    • @LarryCheungGolf
      @LarryCheungGolf  6 лет назад +1

      Matthew Priestley for sure!!! I have a decent enough idea of how clubs will affect the swing and result that I will always defer to Ian and the team at TXG for their expertise!!! Can’t ask for a better partnership for sure!!! :)

    Larry, great instruction and fresh approach - found you through Matt’s video. Do you have any recommendations on creating a wedge set to simplify my system? Currently have 46, 52, 56, 60. I play everything to full shots with 52 @ 115y 56 @ 100 to 60 @ 80y and only use 60 for sand and any shot less than 80. Do you recommend 3 or 4 wedges for someone still looking for consistency as a mid teen hc. Any plan to hit Florida this winter to offer instruction?

    • @LarryCheungGolf
      @LarryCheungGolf  6 лет назад

      James Losinger thanks! I would go 46/50/54/58, I generally like 4* of gap, for a mid hc, 3 wedges plus a PW is a good setup to have :) no Florida plans yet, but may in the future :)

    Larry this is great. I’ve been using this since you mentioned it your other video. Question on technique-I am pulling a lot of these waist height wedges left...do you think I should feel like the club face is facing the sky on the follow through?

    • @LarryCheungGolf
      @LarryCheungGolf  6 лет назад

      Justin Gohn thanks! :) I would first look at lie angle, I would flatten it and see how it goes, and also follow through more right, that should straighten it out. I would not have the clubface face the sky as that would add too much loft to it :)

    • @justingohn

    Hey Larry are you using your hit 1/2 behind the ball technique or are you hitting clean here?

    • @LarryCheungGolf
      @LarryCheungGolf  6 лет назад

      willie moss-walden for these shots, I just try to hit the ball first. The good thing is you still don’t need to be super precise with it because of the lack of hinge, the bounce is still in play and any ground first contact will be forgiven :)

  • @sch5961

    Are you intentionally increasing your swing speed to get 20 yard gaps? I like the idea of this concept and have tried it a few times during practice, but I’m finding I have to increase swing speed with each club in order to see the yardage gap you deceive in the video. When I feel like I take the same swing, often times I’m getting similar yardage with 58 and 54... thoughts on this?
