Nick goes over the beast of a factory block, the L8T and our own Raceshop improved design found in our twin turbo build. #SEMA #SDPC #SDPCRaceshop #L8T #2000hp
What could be done with a L8T Short Block and my 2014 LT1 in my Z51 Corvette, and maybe a A&A Vortech, for the street. Which Cam, Which Intake, Like the Holley High Ram but converting to Port from Direct Injection maybe too expensive to achieve. Thoughts? Plans? We need an LT1 L8T street kit badly for DIY Hobbyiest installations.
There's quite a few different ways to skin that cat for sure! Holley, BTR, Performance Design, MSD, and a few others offer a port injection LT intake. Running it full DI or Port or a hybrid of the two will be up to you and/or your tuner. Some businesses offer a secondary port injection setup with a holley that brings the fuel up as the boost increases and you can leave the stock DI fuel system alone (making tuning a lot less complicated for cold start/street driving). In all honesty, unless you're planning on going all out, a sleeved LT1 is more than sufficient and I have seen those make in the neighborhood of 2000hp as well.
@@Sdpartscenter Thank You I had looked at the LT1 Block and Crank with Forged Pistons and H Beam Rods but yes I cracked a sleeve in my Stock LS1 with a Magnuson and did not want to do that again, I bought the Iron LS1 Block from you guys to build a great motor that ran 140,000 and still going. Sleeving the LT1 with new pistons and rods just seemed like a lot money when the L8T long Block was looking reasonable. I need to check with a few local engine builders
wonder if you could put that crank in a lq4 6.0? use the cranks and rods and 4.030 pistons. would be a 393ci and won't have the piston coming out of the bore as far like you would with a 4" cranks😎
Why wouldn't you just use a 4" crankshaft? I'm sure it's a lot cheaper, and does the same thing. The lq4 with a 4" stroker crank gives you a 408ci stroker. Which is a 6.7 instead of a 6.6.
There was one in the Gas Monkey Garage C10 in our booth at SEMA. We have a few customers with our raceshop L8T right now, some are making passes in no time grudge classes though.
Just curious. Would you put together a more street-able L8T Twin turbo with a low profile intake to fit under hood that comes in around 850-1,000 hp & tuned to pump gas?
@@Sdpartscenter Ok cool, thats great news, man these heads stock flow really well. Wonder if the iron blocks are close to the same weight as the 4.8 5.3 6.0 blocks.
Raceshop cylinder wall sonic testing indicates a maximum recommended bore size of 4.125” for naturally aspirated engines and 4.085” for boosted engines
That would bring a whole new meaning to a Chevy Express.
Wow this motor is badass
I didn't understand everything he said, but what I did understand is definitely badass
THE PERFECT MOTOR FOR THE 2023 CAMARO!!!! Z28!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED ON YOUR VARIOUS PROJECTS.
WOW!!!! 2000 HORSEPOWER!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
I still have the TPI vortec head swap kit you guys made a long time ago. Only guys that did em pretty sure. Always loved the products
This man did a great presentation, and that beast is impressive as hell. Wonder how much boost they need to get the 2,077 HP.
Only 32lbs
It made 1000hp on ~6lbs.
@@Sdpartscenter Impressive has hell. NRE might be jealosus.
@@Sdpartscenter I would be fine with the 1,000 at 6 pounds
@@Sdpartscenter I wonder how hard it would be to put and 4.125 crank in and L8T block and spray it with a lot of nitrous?
@@bigboreracing356 how much would u call a lot of nitrous? Or heavy nitrous? I would like a bbc 565 to make about 1700 with nitrous..
Just found your channel and subscribed. What does one of these beauties cost? Can this power plant be used in ‘Street Mode”Thanks
Question how big was A/R housing for the 7685 turbos
What are the flow numbers on the L8T heads, before and after the CNC work?
Gr8 engine , where would u be HP & TQ wise on this combination with 93 Octane Fuel . Over 2000 HP is very impressive.

Wonder if LS7 heads will work on this block? LS3 heads are great but the extra rows of bolts on LS7 heads lend well to boosted applications.
LS7 with its 2.200 intake valves need at least 4.100 bore…
LS7, unless it's an aftermarket small bore, will not work. You can however use LS3 head, or LSA/9.

Will any of these upgrades ever be available to the public for purchase to modify a stock 2020 L8T as well as the ability to tune the ecm?
The block is available to build your own.
you can do it rn man
@@E93RGY I would like to know... have a 2022 silverado 6.6 gas fresh out of warranty... getting the run around on tuning/replacing the ecm...
I drive a l8T in our new chevy box truck. I really am thinking about building a single turbo version.
I'm wondering what a single turbo would do to my truck as well
So you don't have to stick with the "direct injection" on the newest models?
I'll buy an LT1 and swap the motor to this 6.6l l8t. What to make a jet
It’s been 3 years since the L8T came out and yet to see one running on a car or truck😔

Wow why am I hearing about this a whole year later ? Id put that l8t in a Chevy extreme and try not to time travel 😆

That'd be a super mild setup and extremely doable + durable.
Thank you for the reply. Doable + durable are about as good as it gets. Hopefully I’ll be ready to talk to you soon into the future.
I got the 2022 2500 Silverado with the 6.6 gas. I can’t find anything on the market for performance packages.
It currently does not have any tuning support from HPTuners so performance packages aren't readily available.
@@Sdpartscenter ok so can we piece meal it together? My 2022 6.6 gasser is in gm jail...
Do you guys build these for the public?
We can and do, just give us a call!

Chevy !
Now how can i put this in a tahoe without losing super crusie 😅
So how much can I tow with this?
What did you do to the block, to block off the factory injector holes?
Cylinder Heads were plugged. There are block offs for it from motion raceworks.

@@Sdpartscenter awesome .thanks for answering back .do you have a general cost Idea on your 6.6 race block
@@Sdpartscenter do all the gen v lt1 parts work on this engine?
3:46 "Factory billet crank shaft" ?
Derp. Forged, you'll have to excuse Nick he didn't get much sleep at SEMA and this is all unscripted!
Price 😳
can I throw the lt4 supercharger on top of the L8T?
You would need LT4 heads or at least dual pattern heads.
I wouldn't bother. The LT4 supercharger is too small for the 6.2L already.
Lol the only gasser that can out pull a diesel
Like the new 6.6 gas engine.....
3👍's up S D
Thank god they god rid of direct injection it was junk

Does it use Lt1 engine mounts ?
Super piece
